Will the shop reopen at the release date?
If by shop you mean, Donation? We hope we can open it for the release but out of everything we need to prepare for the release, that isn't high priority right now. [/quote] Yes, I meant the one where you can buy more vip-time, mobspawners and such. But it makes sense of course that serverstability and such has much more priority.

Are parts of the forum getting a clean-up on the release date? Like deleting everything from V5 in the towns & nations forum? Might be usefull for the new people joining after the reset so they don't start looking for V5 towns because they sound so good in the forum (not knowing that these town do no longer exist).
Will the shop reopen at the release date?

Not being able to play currently I'm a bit out of the loop. When is this going to happen?
I absolutely love the idea of a reset, so I can't wait to come back to a new world next month after the docs will finally have me patched up again.

What is the big deal about Matt don't wanting to be Admin anymore? What he mostly does when he is online is hang with other people like a totally normal user People overreact way to much about stuff like this.
Sometimes sudden change provokes a reaction. People sometimes just wonder if he left angry, or if he got kicked, .. it's a fair question. People care about other people, hence their reaction. They'd hate to see good players leave.
Mr Floris is right. It is a typical reaction in cases like this. You can see it in many big onlinegames for example in cases where communty-representatives change without announcments. Players always will fear there are potential problems in the "managment" that might endanger their playing experience (sometimes from experience like MMORPG's shutting down or reducing support/development etc. shortly after the staff was reduced). Easy way to prevent this kind of speculations: a typical announcement that Long_Cat is stepping down for e.g. personal reasons and that he thanks the community and staff ... or that the staff thanks him for everything ... something to signal the user: "Everything is ok, don't think about it." That isn't even limited to games and servers. Many companies and organizations always announce noticable changes in their managment/represantative staff to prevent speculations about problems among their contacts.

You could also carry it all in your inventory and get "cleansed of your old life" in our sacrifical lavapit.

Try fullscreen mode (F11 key) and see if it changes anything on your fps (Shift F3), depending on your windows it might increase your graphic performance. Also try reducing the videosetting, especially: clouds off, Particles minimal, VSync off. Also try turning Advanced Open GL on or off (switching it depending on it's current setting; some systems work better with this option on, others loose fps). Things to consider: - Do you have a texturepack installed? (You said you had none, but I add the point for others) - How much RAM does your computer have, there are ways to increase the memory Minecraft is allowed to use. Link to a guide for memory allocation (Minecraftforum.net)- Which Javaversion are you using? Version 7 Update 9 64bit should run fine on Windows 7 computers. - If you have an Nvidia graphics adapter you might want to pay their website a visit. They have an autodetect option in their DriverDownload section that will pick the right driver for you to download and install.

So basically pistons have a 7 second cooldown now? Sounds fine to me. What happens with villager-spawners that were placed when they still worked (like pandoras or the 3 in DragonFires NPc village? Do they spawn villagers now (that just won't trade but still be running around as decorations) or will they still be completely deactivated? If they still don't work (and probably never will) is there a way to get them back as their deactivation might count as force majeure (and not as a usererror )?

Does that cover multiple effect/color/colourfading rockets too?

Looks like you are trying to add it as attachment. There is an easier way.
In the menu of this forum go to Profile -> Forum profile and into the field "Signature" you copy the "ForumBB code" the signature generator gives you.
Then you click "Change profile" and that should be it. Test post something here then to see if it works.

Let's be fair. He wouldn't be the first mayor who had to start with limited knowledge about towny and still didi manage to create a fine town.
Plots are always 16x16 blocks wide in this game AND their position is fixed on the server. That is why every roadplot and every townplot has to be aligned to this fixed plotgrid. To make this easier two hints:
1. Rei's minimap. A mod (that is allowed on the server) that will show you the servers plotgrid on the map. It helps greatly when planning the townlayout. 2. The command "/towny set mode map" (to turn it off "/res set mode clear"). It activates a mode in towny where it will show you a rough map in the chat eacj time you cross a plotborder. This allows you to pinpoint the plotborders exactly to mark them (in most towns that is done with wodden slabs).
A common mistake of unofficial towns (not a towny-town) is to decide to ignore this fixed plotgrid. Tihis town will then run into huge problems when it tries to become official as the fixed plotborders might run through houses, road, etc. pretty much making the whole already existing town layout useless and the plots unsellable.

Don't like mining? Make a sugarcane or a wheatfarm. Harvest the produce and sell it at the VIP spawn. Wheat yields more profit as you can sell extra seeds too, sugar is more time-efficient as you don't need to replant.
Not a VIP, use other players sugar/wheatshops like Twisteds at the beacon at townspawn DragonFire. If you ask here nicely she might even let you use the wheat/sugarcanefarm in town (Hint: Rumours have it the mods are particularly fond of words like please and thanks instead of the usual "MOD!!! tp to me now!", it's their great weakness).

Hm, luckily you already got the present from the town early under your tree.
If data is a concern you might save some by using "Push to talk" in Teamspeak. Everything transmitted is additional data on the counter, so it helps if only those things are transmitted that are really supposed to be said (no typing and backround sounds etc.). Although I'm sure San will miss your singing.
Cya online next year.

As itemframes are not protected (lockable) by any plugin atm they had to be disabled. Everyone could break them and steal the item.

Yes I read the topic. But I didn't see an admin state in here whether - they could give adminsupport for this in the first place (usually the server followed the policy that it's is a survivalserver after all, so projects are based on the players) - they are technically able to protect something this large. The use of LWC has it's limits (just imagine the sheer number of blocks that would have to be protected by an admin one by one). The area around Noobstown is not protected by LWC but by Towny for a good reason. And using Towny for this would be highly impractical as it would render all the plots the line goes through unusable for players and towns. And I wasn't talking about lag or graphicproblems. I was talking about the additional workload for the server loading the chunks for the short time people pass through, which is something different. Don't get me wrong, I am not against the idea, I just have my doubts about it's realization.

Sanctuary or Sanctum. If it is VERY exclusive you could even build a townwall around it to keep the outsiders out.

1. Each wilderness chunk that you pass through (and currently has no other players around) needs to be loaded. Not sure how much stress that would put on the server, but might be a point to tkae in consideration. 2. It would be only a matter of time untill the first griefer has the idea to not only break the rails at one point but also combine that with a deathdrop or a drop into a lavapit.
Might be easier to built an highway with Spawner "Catch-a-pig" stations (yes, borrowed that from Scoooter) at each end. Would require saddles to be craftable though as they are too rare otherwise.

I wouldn't say bad, just not suitable for this game and this server. Other servers and games (roleplaygames for example) are more suited for that.

If you don't even know if someone is female/male without the help of a serverplugin than you honestly shouldn't marry her/him. Even if you are just playing the marriage you should at least know your partner ingame well enough to have that simple information.
If you for some reason want people to know what you are ingame simply choose a skin that is obvious; as an example look at mine or waterworths face here in the forum and ingame, that should be pretty obvious unless you believe in the carnivals bearded lady.
There is also the problem that some parents might find it inappropriate that the familyserver their kid daughter is playing on encourages her to "marry" some unknown guy (even if it's just a game there are creepy folks out there). So the server should never make that part of the program.
And the maturity? Well, honestly the idea of ingame marriage is mostly appealing to 2 groups: - pairs that already are together in the real world (although they rarely need to play that ingame so they certainly do NOT need an added feature for that) - kids which hardly know anything about real marriage and often only get into some emotional drama when playing these things together. As Twisted said it happened again and again on the server, and it always were people who considered themselfes mature. And it mostly resulted in 2 things, more work for the mods to calm that down again and both arguing divorcees landing on a lot of ignorelist in chat for taking it out in globalchat. So, the potential for trouble is bigger than the advantage and the basic need for somethin like that.

Add a new tip to these servertips that show up regularly informing members that there is an /ignore function. That should teach people to deal with disruptive guests.
Guests often seem to ask for help for 2 reasons: "How do I join?" - They haven't read all the signs. Well, some people have only a short time of attention and get bored by reading too fast these days. They don't even realize that reading all the signs will answer that question for them. Especially younger ones that are used to get a little pampered by adults in the real life tend to expect people to take care of them instead of thinking for themselfes (if that sounds harsh it's not intended that way but "lost in translation"). Adding a sign at the first board pointing out that "This tutorial will give you informations about the server AND tell you how to join it" might reduce that problem.
"I registered but I'm not a member yet" - They registered but haven't used the email yet. Maybe the informations explaining the step with the email is phrased or placed on the walls unfortunate, but it seems to cause a little confusion sometimes. Maybe an admin could check if there is anything that could be improved about that part (might not be the case of course, but checking never hurts).

I should also add, location is a key factor in success in shops as well. As stated in a previous post, the shop behind someone else may not receive as much attention if players are not made aware of it's existence. I am sad to know that my shop took quite a bit of business from other players as well, but in a situation like this, there's not much that can be done. Hm, there could be a board added to the districts entrance that lists all shops that have opened (shopplots been bought) during the last week (or 2 weeks). Updated every monday. This way frequent visitors to the district can check these new shops and their range of offers and new shopowners get a chance to attract new customers.

Hm, if I buy the same item twice without waiting for a short period (30 seconds - 1 minute) the shop usually doesn't accept the second order. But it also doesn't take the points for it so it is no problem. Maybe that's why you only got 1 egg.

I have to agree with Azurega.
JarJarbinks, AngryBirds-StarWars. The 3 newest episodes feeling like a horrible teenagermovie. Milking the franchise with cereals and childrentoys (massmurdering DarthVader blows up a whole planet just to make a point and they sell him as childrens toy? It once wasn't a childrensstory, but the new films and stuff just don't feel right anymore).
There is now way Disney could do any more harm to StarWars then already has been done by Lucasfilm. Even a MickeySkywalker and a HanGoofy rescuing Princess Minnie form the evil DarthDonald couldn't be worse than JarJarbinks.
