You cant do anything with specific blocks so stop asking.. towny works around chunks.. 16x16 spaces of land.... The only way you can do that is with /cprivate and I believe with /cprivate [names] it allows you to add more than one person to use that block.... So let me say it again.. TOWNY WORKS WITH CHUNKS NOT BLOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please not a cube.. That is just stupid, give your house some shape dude. I want the town to look good. Not like a bunch of gigantic boxes with windows and a door..

Justin, look at the freaking town commands in the guide section... It makes life so much easier..! And you dont set a command so they build on their plots.. If you turn perms off so that they cant build in town then the only place they can build is their plots and the wilderness. Perms do not effect plots in any way. If a person owns that plot then only mayor, assistants, and the single resident can build on that section of land.

That is correct, 10,000.. But a 32x32 house seems like a bit much? Are you going to have a garden or anything or will it just be one huge house?

Yes, what Linda said. Plots are chunks of 16x16 blocks of land. So if you start a town, your town is a 16x16 chunk. Then if you walk until it says unowned then you can continue to claim the land. In steps it would look like this.
1 - /town new [town name] this starts a new town with you as mayor and the name of your choice. 2 - Add money to your town bank with /town deposit [amount] so that you can claim land because it cost money to claim new areas. 3 - Walk to another area until in the chat box it says, "unowned" Once you reach this type /town claim and it will add to your town. 4 - Continue that proccess until you either run out of money or have nothing else you wish to claim. 5 - If you want to return to town after being away type /town spawn and you will spawn to your homeblock or where you started the town. 6 - If you wish to change your homeblock type /town set homeblock and it will change to the chunk you are standing in. If I am correct it will change to where you are standing exactly and the direction you are looking. As for setting perms with residents this has been said multiple times. But I will go over it again. 1 - Type /town set perm off this turns off all perms so nobody can do anything except mayors and residents. 2 - If you want to add residents specifically to be able to do something then type /town set perm resident itemuse on and then all perms off except for residents itemuse. So they cant build/destroy/switch but they can open chest that are not locked. That is as basic as I can go I think.. 112

Its what I was saying, you couldn't destroy there because it wasn't your plot. But assistants and mayors could. Its just perms.. So if perms are set, then it says, "you do not have permission to do that." But mayors and assistants can do whatever it was. You cant set it for specific blocks, but you can make it to where residents can only build or whatever, on their plots.

What don't you get? Let my try to explain a little more. When you type /town set perm off it turns off perms for all players and all things. The only people that can build/destroy/swtich/itemuse is mayor and assistants. But if you then type /town set perm resident build on Then it allows only residents/mayor/assistant to build within the town limits. The people that can't do anything though are outsiders and allies, that is why you have to be resident specific because if you just type, /town set perm build on Then it allows for people who are not part of your town to build anywhere in town. As for plots, if you type /plot forsale it will set that plot for sale then the resident types /plot claim and they buy that land and the price of the plot goes directly into the town bank. On plots, perms do not matter, if a person owns that space, they can do anything they want. Perms only go toward the land that the town owns by itself. So if you cross over it and it says, "MorningWood : Owner : None then that plot is affected by perms, but if it says, "MorningWood : Owner : Lindatjuh then Linda can build anywhere she wants to on the 16x16 space.

Claiming plots is easy because it claims in 16x16 blocks, and its easier when you type, /resident set mode townclaim and that allows you to claim as you walk, and then for perms you type, /town set perm on/off and to be specific type /town set perm [build-destroy-itemuse-switch] on/off this can also be specific to resident, like if you want a resident to be able to use switches in your town type, /town set perm resident switch on and they will be able to use switches. Hope this helps.

The thing with the free plots is people who sign up on the town forums will get a free plot, so if you go to morningwood.freeforums.org and sign up, your first plot will be free.

This makes me think of smurfs.. So SmurfVillage? If you do a nation, Le Pays Maudit (the cursed land) Because in the comics that is what smurfs had to do to get to smurf village.

I suggest not wasting your time on water proofing. =P If you want to be productive the last few days, go mine and make money because money/stats will transfer to the new server. Its not fun at all, but at least you will be ready to buy land and build on v4 on the 22nd. Waterproofing is pointless because Joe and just type /thru and make things worse for you. So I say let him flood and just work your way around it if you need to get to your home.

Sorry, I have been out of town all week with no internet access, if your questions haven't been answered I would be glad to help, and the thing that helped me with my town was the list of minecraft commands in the guide section. It has a list of all commands, such as, town commands, resident perms, plot commands, and even party commands. So that list will help you alot and the commands are simple as long as you have a feint amount of common sense.

Sorry mate, we just stopped adding residents until the 28th. If you would like to you can go onto our forum, morningwood.freeforums.org and look at the new stuff being added and get better information about the town. Reason for not adding people until the 28th is because the map is reset on the 22nd and we want a little bit of time to rebuild the town so we have a setup on how the town is going to be set up before we let people build their homes. You will be marked to join the town when we have it set up but for now just go mine and get money for the future.

Am I the only one not making my town waterproof? I kinda like watching the destruction of my town. I say everyman for himself. Nowhere is safe from the flood cause Joe can open doors and "thru" walls. So why bother make a safe room? We are all gonna die soon. My suggestion. Repent. XD

MorningWood has plenty of people from all over the world, I live in Missouri, EST. And I am almost always on, however I am going out of town for a few days, 10-15. But my main assistant, Ranto, will be in charge and I will make him mayor for awhile.
But I would recommend not joining our town until Noobstown v4 MorningWood v3 because we are not doing anything with the town right now except experiments for the next map. But we have huge plans in store with alot of fun things to do other than mine, build, and fight. So if you are looking for a friendly town with people on alot then I would say either MorningWood or Forthwind. But I would say MorningWood if you are looking for older players. I am 17 but my birthday is the 21st so I would just round up to 18, Ranto is 22, and many of my other resident are atleast 16. 124
