Well that's bad news for me i cant connect to any server outside the uk my internet just cant do it. That was one reason your i loved noobs town so much the UK based server :-(

Guess its time to shout at my ISP and see if i can get anymore speed and play with my router some more i should be able to do something ive just had a new phone line installed a couple of weeks ago

i use Sphax pureBDcraft 128x128 need to change back to 256x256 pack just keep forgetting to download it.

To be able to install and run 64bit Java you would need a 64bit CPU with a 64Bit OS the easiest way to check if you have 64bit is to just right click on computer and click properties and see what is says next to system type (windows 7) and then if you have 64bit you can then download the 64 bit Java installer from this link http://www.Java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

A good CPU and a dedicated GPU is best my laptop runs mincecraft on the server at 60 - 100 FPS and even more once i reinstall optifine :-) just never try and play it with an Intel graphics chip my brothers laptop has an i3 CPU but an Intel GPU and it will only play minecraft at about 8-14FPS with optifine installed and his laptop should be more than powerful enough to run it but i found out that theres a problem with Java and Intel graphics chip so it doesn't work right 

Ive just had a look and optifine is only at 70% complete and to install mods on 1.6.1 heres some instructions:

1. Go to C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions <--- %appdata% then versions folder (easy way)
2. Copy "1.6.1"-folder and rename that. Maybe to "1.6.1 with mods".
3. Copy the name of the new folder and open it.
4. Rename all files in it (examp.: 1.6.1 with mods.jar and 1.6.1 Mods.json).
5. Open the ".json" with editor or sth. else and rename: ["id": "1.6.1 Mods",] -> ["id": "1.6.1 with mods",] 
6. Open the 1.6.1 Mods.jar and copy all files from optifine (or other mods) into that, delete META-INF.
7. Start your launcher, create a new profile and chose as "Use version:" the new version.
8. Start minecraft.

Im big into my dubstep i have a dubstep playlist that i play while playing minecraft.

But my favs are:

and a few others i will post my playlist later on

heres an idea is there a plugin that lets us have custom music like radio staion style so you could listen to it in the server i am a DJ and i would make a few mixes for it :-)

I am still getting loads of lag to the point it is unplayable
