Felt like it was time to bump this topic again with the start of V6, to see if NEW PEOPLE WILL INTRODUCE THEIR FACES ;D

Server Announcements / Re: Auction Preview« on: 13 Nov 2013, 14:26:36 »Even with texture packs and full graphics options you won't use up that much relative to other games. I almost never have solely minecraft open, I'll do two games at once, a web browser and something on VLC, and that's just on the main computer. First part, disagreed. Minecraft asks more of my computer on full graphics than for example, Battlefield 3 on max graphics. Second part, it will take longer to buy stuff with an online auction system and, with the fluctuating prices that come with an auction system, also more expensive for people if they buy stuff in bulk, which as a result leads to fewer people starting big projects because they will be more expensive, and discourage a lot of people. 80
Server Announcements / Re: Auction Preview« on: 11 Nov 2013, 11:54:08 »Unless I heard wrong, chest shops will still exist. I was under the understanding that this system would completely replace the chest shops. I'd love to hear I'm wrong. Also... of course it isn't hard to open a webbrowser. It's about the nuisance that is alt + tabbing all the time between Minecraft and the site. When I play a game, I want to play the game, and not spend my time switching between all sorts of appendixes to the game. And not a lot of resources? Maybe if you can live with staring at 16x16 pixel blocks, but I prefer to use 128 x 128 texture packs to make the graphics sorta bareable. 81

I preferred the chest shops. This new system is simply too devious. I'd rather have a more straight-forward system instead of being forced to use the website while in the game.

Server Announcements / Re: Quick Update« on: 4 Oct 2013, 11:34:45 »
Exactly what they said, 800 isn't much, considering I'm going to need to need about 400 wilderness plots for my own project, which is about 100.000 blocks of land.

My first house was in Oakvale, and when I left the town someone bought it from me and made some adjustments. So not much left of it =P

Is this still even a discussion? After E3 I think we can say Sony completely humiliated and destroyed the new Xbox. Anyone who is still foolish enough to even consider buying an xbox clearly doesn't know what hes talking about.

My major concern is about the Wilderness plot system... What about those people that are planning big, fancy solo projects in the Wilderness? Right now, in v5, you can make clear by laying out the foundation for example, that this area is claimed by you, and that something is planned for this area. How can we do that in V6? My big concern:
- People that will start inhabiting a plot that you had already planned for your project, but didn't have enough wilderness plots for. They can either do this without it being their intention, but I can also imagine that certain people with hatred towards someone will purposely buy plots next to someone's (planned) build, just to bug this person. How do you plan to handle this? 87

Yup, it's a survival server as has been said in the other topics =) Glad to see mobs are back in the mining world.

This would just end as a popularity contest between a small group of active forum users, instead of them going to people who actually deserve it.

I approve of this.
I've also had several occassions where guests were clearly violating the server rules with no mods around, and no possibility to report them because only registered members can be reported. 90
Server Announcements / Re: Version 6.0 - Preview 1« on: 3 May 2013, 13:59:40 »
They already said they aren't gonna do that, Bill. The world we have now will be available for viewing purposes only through a special "Museum portal". So if you have special buildings, you have plenty of time to rebuild them wherever you want.

You have to remember that people get on Minecraft to relax, and to forget about the struggles of everyday life. Just to have a good time with people online while building pretty things. They don't want to be reminded of everything that's going on in the world today.
Also, and I don't know how many times you can repeat this, this is a family-friendly server. Kids as young as 8 years old play this. Do you want them to read about bombings, or the threat of war? Doesn't sound like things I'd want my kids exposed to unless I choose to tell them myself. Finally, people would use such a thing to try and lure people out, start arguments, covertly insulting people's religion or beliefs under the banner of "hey, we have freedom of content here, I can say whatever I want". I don't know how they say it there, but in my country they always say preventing is better than curing. I think that also applies here. Leaving certain topics off the server helps promote the good, friendly atmosphere stands for. An atmosphere free of drama, and suitable for all ages. Besides, if you really want to talk about such topics, how much trouble is it to take it to /msg, or even make a party for a larger group of people? ![]() 92

2 things to notice.
1. New Noobstown is just gonna be a fancy, more elaborate copy of Flintwood? 2. Not looking forward to walking those huge distances to get to the portal you need =/ Would be nice if they were just close together in 1 room like they are now. Other than that, it looks truly amazing and I've always been a fan of Batuus' style. I just don't think it fits Noobstown as I got to know it. 93
Noobstown General / Re: V6... It's taking too long« on: 21 Apr 2013, 10:32:52 »
I agree, most of us on here have patience =) And some (like me) are being very fanatic about their tokens, and getting in the top 100, just to ensure that veteran
![]() BUT, the majority of the server doesn't think that way. Ever since they announced V6, you see a steep drop in activity on the server. Where we first had 150 people on every evening of a normal weekday, we now barely reach 50 if we reach it at all on weekends... People just aren't motivated to play anymore, and you only see the same bunch of people online every day grinding their tokens. So for that, I do wish V6 would be done soon so things can go back to normal on the server. 94

Server Announcements / Re: Build Stream - Friday 12th April« on: 11 Apr 2013, 09:45:00 »If you want to keep your Mctop placement, work to keep it... I lost the Mctop #1 spot a few months back, worked my way back to the list, and got pushed back down, I really do not care, and neither should you. I have no problem keeping my mctop placement. I have plenty of time, and the VIP to give me extra XP. What I care about, is the other people on this server. Right now, normal people, if active, can still keep up with the VIP's. Like others have already said, if you haven't bought VIP before they cancelled that in the shop, it's impossible to keep up with these VIP's if you permanently change xp rates for the remainder of V6. Dedication to the server isn't rewarded this way, you're just paying with your real money for a veteran rank then, without giving other players any chance. Including the new players. 98
Server Announcements / Re: Build Stream - Friday 12th April« on: 10 Apr 2013, 19:19:46 »
Please don't change the Mcmmo XP rate... The more frequent x3 weekends already messed up the mctops. Making a permanent x2 change is unfair to those who have put time and effort in mcmmo all throughout V5. People that have worked hard for their spot, and have less time than newer members of the server will easily fall behind now, and will find all the hard work they spend on their stats is wasted time, because a lot of people will get to their level now, and a lot easier.
Also, the poll in Miner_Man's topic about changing the XP rates on mcmmo permanently for the remainder of V5 already clearly showed the majority of people would be against this. 99
Suggestions & Ideas / Re: tutors« on: 9 Apr 2013, 15:17:01 »
There are plenty of players who already help out people and answer questions in chat, without the need for a special rank like this. I don't feel a special "Tutor" rank would add anything to the server.
