That is a gift back to you, the donator. Its a 'no strings attached' mutual gift. You keep looking at it wrong.

once more : your not buying stuff, your donating, open a dictionary, it means its a gift, you SHOULD assume you get nothing in return.

I edited while you posted, to clarify the exact point you got wrong. Yes I did donate after a couple of days play, I liked the server a lot and wanted to help out. My donation was based on the short experience I had on the server. After I donate, I can only hope they put it to good use. If they do, they can expect more donations. If they don't. well then that's it.
And I believe you did threaten not to return the money, you basically allready 'gifted' to the server, unless things get better.

I think you got it wrong Nerzhal.
a) a donation is just that, a donation, its not like your buying something. Its a gift, you should not expect something in return at all. The fact that you are given tools, diamonds, etc is a bonus, it should not be your motivation. A gift should be given based on past experience, not on future expectations. look it up in the dictionary. Taking back a gift is 'not done' were I come from. Threatening not to give a gift back, is just, well, plain silly.
b) I doubt 30 pound would settle the bill for hosting a server, if it does, it would be an empty server. The amount of effort put in by all the community members, admins especially is priceless.... My 2 cents.

Also, I have experienced that the protection does not work against creeper explosions Griefers could try to lure a creeper near my house and set it of ? (long stretch, but still) I guess I would need the noboom addon for that, but its very expensive

IGN: Dopehead_NL Age: 41 (oldfart ) How many hours per day: 2 Why you want this role: I want to help out where I can with this server, doing the paypal thing already made me feel better, but if I can do more, I sure would like to. You could argue I am not on a lot, only about 2 hours a day, but I am GMT+2 and mostly play late at night, up until 02:00 am. Perhaps theres a need for an OP at that time, then I would gladly help out. At my age I think its safe to say that I know what responsibility means, rest assure I will carry mine. Past experience: Played on a few server before, one where I had worldedit permission, so moderate knowledge on that subject to. Time zone: GMT+2 Additional information: I am a professional ICT specialist, expertise : Networking (HP Procurve), internet connections, VPN, firewalls (Juniper), VMware ESX(i), enterprise storage (HP EVA and SUN), fibre backbones and also Linux trained (OpenSUSE and Ubuntu) So perhaps, although some people have doubt it, I can be of any assistance with server problems to.

The max you can protect seems to be a 1000 blocks. So basicly 10*10*10 max as a whole in the entire world.

Crash or no crash..... Joe put in a hell of a lot effort to get things going, when it then turns out not to be clear sailing it tends not to be a pleasant time. I wanted to show my support, wish him all the luck and strength he needs to keep working on, when we all breath down his neck. As for how much help I can be, I think you underestimate me, Bob, but that's ok, people have done that before. There's all kinds of help, don't be short sighted.

I hereby call on everybody to show some moral support for Joe. He's must be going nuts over yet another server crash, (I know I would) and he deserves every bit of positive sound we can give him. Come on Joe, keep up the good work, don't let this setback put you down ! And if you need help, any help, just PM me.

Dont knock it till you tried it, someone once said to me. So I tried this griefing you all seem to like so much. Found myself a nice little condo, high up a cliff, cute glass window in it. Climbed up there and planted my hard earned TNT block. Smacked the block and ran out the window...............what wait.....no.no. DUMBASS !!!!!! splat.......
Surprisingly my stuff was still there when I re-found the spot 20 minutes later.
Cant say I like griefing for myself up till now.

No1 saw a house... >.> altho i do remember making a small crater from large amounts of TNT with Joe nearby
Might not have been my place then, I had a nice wooden house with garden on a hill overlooking the water. All theres left is a big crater and a dirt tower, must have been a nice pile of TNT that went in there. I can understand the joy of playing with TNT, I had my share, but only on objects I had build myself. (TNT cannons are extremely fun) I was aware of the risc, so not to bothered, just glad they did not find the iron and tools in my chest.

Found my house flattened when I joined last night. Its a temp server, still all i could mumble was 'B@st@rds !' I don't get all that destruction, never have, never will, must be an age thing. What did bring a smile to my face is that the TNT hungry dumb-ass did not spot the obvious 'secret' chest with all my goodies

I feel for you, loosing stuff and hard work sucks. period. I myself thoyugh, consider it a moment to come up with new idea's, perfect layouts and just plain build better buildings. Then again, I don't build the real epic buildings, so my pain is less. I have seen some awesome builds on this server, and I do hope to see more.
