you can also dig a small hole in the ground and seal it up with the dirt. you can then put the crafting table, furnace, etc. into the side of the wall. if you don't have coal, make charcoal. set home or mark it out using specially placed flowers or whatever.
I got another gold block, 32 dirt blocks with grass on them, a potion of swiftness, 10 cracked stone bricks, 10 chiseled stone bricks, and 16 glowstone. I got a whole bunch of tricks which included being set on fire, getting hurt, getting weaker, and confused.
