Noobstown General / Re: Wilderness plots
« on: 11 Mar 2014, 23:46:25 »
I think someone asked this last night and we determined that it had to be for everything or nothing.

Um, I'm rather concerned about the "semi-permanent world resets" in the title there. Does that mean the worlds aren't going to get reset monthly anymore? Because while there was still ores to be found even just yesterday it's still good to have them reset once a month just for the deserts and other biomes that can get cleaned out by all the people needing the materials...

Noobstown General / Re: How i found over 200 diamonds
« on: 10 Mar 2014, 01:18:39 »
They found an area in the wilderness world rather like the emerald islands, where many diamond ores had spawned in along the ground and such. However it isn't meant to spawn because of how overly advantaged it is for someone to just claim the land, mine it all up, then unclaim it and get a quick profit off it.

It's part of the custom biomes that the server uses, however they weren't actually supposed to be used unlike the other biomes that we had. Therefore the admins have to remove the ores, just like when they had to remove all the emerald ores that were along the custom emerald islands.

I'm not entirely sure what's taking so long for this one, but I presume that Fatnoob is using the downtime to perhaps update a few things or something that needed it. Since updating things requires the server to go down for maintenance it would be perfect timing. I suppose we'll find out when it's all finished.

Hey you never know, maybe they're resetting the mining/nether/end worlds as well since the server needed to be put into maintenance for the diamonds.

So maybe it's actually a good thing. ;3

« on: 8 Mar 2014, 04:24:17 »
I do have to agree that it does seem to go against the earlier-stated intentions that it should be player-to-player and chest-shop based. It also almost makes it a slap in the face that we can donate to get noobs but we aren't allowed to have things like wood or farm supplies in the /shop because you can get too much at once, as if money was far more important than the time it would take to continually harvest items.

I really didn't mind being able to buy MCMMO luck pack for higher double drop chances or whatever, or buying wild chunks/town chunks but... being able to buy noobz themselves... That seems a little I don't know. Too much, or something. Like it's giving a huge advantage for people who are able and wanting to just drop in money and not put in all the hours of work that everyone else has to for what they get. That was always one of the things I disliked about other games, that those who could put in real-world money instantly got huge advantages that you couldn't keep up with just because you're "poor".

Towns & Nations / Re: Dracomere -The MCMMO Leveling Town-
« on: 7 Mar 2014, 20:11:26 »
Updated the first post in order to show the new additions to the town, as well as the town's new direction towards being an MCMMO-focused town, helping to provide areas for residents to level themselves up.

Once I create a nation then I will set up the farms so that allies in the nation are able to use the farms instead of just residents only.

Looking forward to anyone who wishes to join to help themselves to the assets we provide!

Support / Re: Brewing Using Too Many Items?
« on: 6 Mar 2014, 04:03:27 »
I do put the ingredients in first, that way it's far easier to simply switch out the bottles between netherwart/sugar/redstone brewing stands to make a faster process than simply putting the sugar in all the time.

You may be right about that because Tidal tells me that she puts her ingredients in after the bottles, which would go along with the theory that you have there.

Support / Brewing Using Too Many Items?
« on: 4 Mar 2014, 05:53:11 »
So I've noticed that when I'm using my brewing stands they'll use up 3 items instead of just 1 when I make three potions like normal. So if I have 64 sugar in the stand and put in 3 potions as normal I'll have 61 leftover afterwards.

That in itself doesn't bother me, I've built a sugar farm that I'll have more than enough for the brewing itself. What does concern me is that Tidal was testing it just now as well and she doesn't have this problem. She'll put in 64 sugar into the stand for 3 potions and will have 63 leftover, the brewing stand only using 1 item to make the three potions.

I'm confused if this is something inherent into the Alchemy skill as you gain levels (Which I checked and I didn't see anything in /alchemy mentioning this), but even so Tidal claimed that it never happened to her at all. So I'm just wondering if this is some kind of bug that it's affecting me and not someone else.

Support / Re: kick for no reason
« on: 3 Mar 2014, 20:39:42 »
Not a mod here but maybe you could give a bit of more detail on why you need help with it from a mod? A kick isn't the same as a ban, and as I recall it would sometimes kick people for flying when they were riding a boat. Maybe it's something a bit like that.

You should be able to get on the server again though, if that's what the main problem is. Otherwise I'll just wait for a mod to put more details here.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Better VIP kit armor
« on: 2 Mar 2014, 22:40:26 »
There's also the problem that it would give VIPs even more advantage in things like PVP, which will probably be added to events again since I know people loved the PVP events. A VIP can just easily just /kit vip and get protected armor when everyone else would have to go and enchant their own.

I mean the list of perks VIPs already have in the area of PVP alone is:
-Counter attacks with swords
-Deflect arrows with unarmed
-Skill time increased by 8 seconds
-Cooldown decreased by 1/4th
-Free Wolf pet

Just the skill increase time makes it deadly towards non-VIPs when you use the attack skills and keep bashing on them.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Adding Item Data to Auction
« on: 2 Mar 2014, 22:35:54 »
Thanks Law, nice to see that it's in mind. I don't mind if it takes some time, there's lots of other more pressing matters that I'm sure have been focused on. It's great to know it'll be implemented whenever it is. :D

Suggestions & Ideas / Adding Item Data to Auction
« on: 2 Mar 2014, 05:24:41 »
So I noticed that when you actually look at the auction you can click on an item and see the stats for like the average price of it along with a graph that shows you how much people have paid for the item recently.

That's great, really. Now I'd like it if we could see that same graph when we're going to put an item up on the auction on our web inventory, otherwise we have no way of knowing what most people are paying for that item unless we put the item up or find it already on the auction (Which with a lot of items they aren't on the auction at the time).

This way you can actually get a good idea on a fair price without flying blind and putting a price that you think is good but when you check the auction prices you see was completely underpriced/overpriced.

I just thought it would help with high/low prices on items, helping give people a better idea on what they should put their items as to get bids.

I agree that mob grinding is useless, the more times you kill one type of mob in a row the less money you get. I do believe the highest money I've seen personally would be nearly 3Nbz per that mob. Therefore if you keep killing a chain of zombies your money decreases quickly, with it starting out I think around 2nbz and swiftly diving, the lowest I saw it go before I stopped was 0.19Nbz.

Now even if you did manage to kill a different mob every single time it's just not worth it at all, even to get 100 nbz if it's 2nbz each you'd have to kill 50 mobs just for that. Which can take a very long time depending on where you are, even in a desert where mobs spawn continuously. Factor in the damage to your armor/health/weapon and it's just not a good source of income at all.

Noobstown General / Re: Olympus new name?

"Olympus" sounds like you were trying to go for some mythical palace. In that case perhaps Valhalla?

This seems like a really silly complaint to me, you don't NEED to chop down 2x2 trees. It makes for far too easy and fast wood gathering. It still works perfectly fine with chopping down lots of trees if they're single-trees, as Dracomere's Spruce farm proves when I was doing Tree Feller on it even after woodcutting was lowered with 16 trees per floor I can chop down one-by-one in a row with Tree Feller just fine.

So don't go trying to say you "can't chop trees quickly", it's simply been brought down so people can't get an absurd amount of wood in a short amount of time. And it was absurd if you could get a double chest in just one tree feller. I think it's perfectly fine that we can't chop down 2x2 trees now. If I recall the higher your Tree Feller the less damage is done to your axe, so as you raise the skill you should be able to chop down the 2x2 over time again anyway. But then you would have worked hard for it and I wouldn't think it OP if you could get a dc in one swing.

Server Announcements / Re: Server Downtime

I assume with all these problems they'll probably do an x2 weekend this coming weekend to make up for all the problems that we're having right now, after all we can't really enjoy using something that isn't available.

You're not losing anything, it's just that it's now easier/cheaper to buy wilderness plots.

No, Adrian meant selling food to other players as it's not really necessary right now. Not selling to the /shop or anything.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Town Rank: Recruiter.
« on: 16 Feb 2014, 21:22:06 »
I thought that was already existing in towny, or at least it was a long time ago. I can't imagine they took it out. Can't you simply only give them the rank of recruiter and they can only recruit people? I remember that's how it worked before at least.

I almost have to wonder if that typo was on purpose or not... Goon... haha.

But yeah. Congrats to the winner and all that jazz, good luck with all the rewards and make sure you swim in them long enough to enjoy them before spending them all. ;3

Noobstown General / Re: First thing in V6
« on: 6 Nov 2013, 05:30:58 »
First of all, I don't particularly care for how you're acting recently Max. You were kind of cool in my opinion before but now you're just dropping. I'm getting sick of you purposely troll baiting people, it's annoying and not at all nice.

And don't you dare claim otherwise, that whole "Other than Adrian, I'm shocked the rest of you aren't doing the same.  At least show a little gratitude and devotion to the server." was clearly intended to anger people, I don't want to hear your flimsy excuses of "I was using the same words as Bexn though!" because there are clear differences between what you intend and what Bexn intended. It's especially clear with your standoffish attitude in several other places around the forum.

I think you might want to look into being more mature yourself if this is how you think people are supposed to act towards others who are just genuinely interested in getting to play a game they've been waiting nearly a year for by this point. They've been appreciating everything that the admins are putting into the game, they've been appreciating it for a year now with all the teasers and such that have surely already been put out.

Anyway, first thing that I'm going to be doing is working on materials for my town and playing around with the buildings with everyone who's going to be in my town.

Alright, that helps to know how many plots we might be needing. One day I would love to see what you came up with as a home though, since you've had some great builds before. :D
