Yes, currently my town has up to 4 outposts, and we're going to make even more.

Ours currently are:
1- Nether
2- Skeleton Spawner XP Trap
3- Zombie Spawner XP Trap
4- Spider Spawner XP Trap

I intend to have:
Blaze Spawner XP Trap, Mob Grinder, Tree Farm/Sugar Cane Farm, Animal Farms/Produce Farms, and Sheep Farm as other outposts, simply to save our residents their time so they don't always have to walk to each individual place.

And yes. I'm pretty much going to fund each of these outposts out of my own pocket. I hardly find it a waste of money. ^~^

Yes. Yes it is. Taking something without permission is griefing, wheat/farm or not.

You took up their valuable time because they then had to wait for their crops to regrow, stealing the money they would have had with that harvest.

You mean teleporting to the other outposts? It would be /town outpost #. # being whichever one it is that you're wanting to go to.

Noobstown General / Re: Turning tax off ?
« on: 27 Apr 2012, 20:50:19 »
Set the tax to 1 each day then. If someone can't even pay 1 a day, they really don't have anything to complain about. They'd just have to go out, get one single dirt/cobble, and then sell it.

That's honestly not that hard to do, even for a new player. Just stress this fact to them and make sure they understand it. Then the duty's not on you to ensure they keep enough money in the bank, as they then understand and know what'll happen if they don't even keep 1 on them.

And in case you hadn't noticed, the only town in the Ethereal_Draconia region is DragonFire. We're rather humble there and usually don't have much in the bank to bother putting towards wars and other such things.

And I have to say, I really don't want to get involved in wars. Griefing things, even just for fun, just isn't something I'm interested in. It makes me feel dirty even if it'll get fixed. And I'm sure the mayor and TidalMewMew, the other TA, agrees with me here.

I really just don't think we need wars turned on right now. And as far as I know, many towns still exist that have lots of room to expand.

Welcome! This thread will be about my shop in DragonFire.

How to get to my shop?
Simple. You simply do /town spawn DragonFire. Then you hop down from the spawn platform and turn right at the crossing and walk forward until you come to a green dragon head. You'll then turn left at the green dragon head and continue on until you see a wooden building. This is my shop.

Note:
I also do free repairs, even diamond. If you have something you want me to repair ask me in chat and then TP to me.

How to use a shop?
Buy from chest- Right click the sign
Sell to chest- Left click the sign

Any Suggestions?
If you want to argue over a price of an item, or want to suggest something that I should sell, then please go ahead and tell me.

Chest Empty?
If you try to buy something and you find that the chest is empty, please do "/mail send TwistedLover" what is empty. Or you can send me a forum PM. It would help me immensely if you told me when something was empty so I could replace it!

Preeetty sure it rolled back some of your clearing out of your house Alba... Since when I went in there there was no roof and there was a lot of stone still in it...

Probably already saw that by now though. :L

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Town Price
« on: 24 Apr 2012, 13:36:29 »
The point is that there were far too many towns being created and each of these towns hardly had any residents in them. It's fine if we have 10+ towns each with around 50ish residents, but when you have 20+ towns with half of them having at the most 10 residents then there's a problem.

Keeping the town price at 300k shows who's dedicated and can work hard at raising the money to create a town. It shows they're really willing to put in the time and effort dedicated towards keeping a town running. And in the time they raise up 300k they will probably have communicated with other people and started gathering together people who promise to become residents and pitch in to help create the town.

Therefore I say keep the town price at 300k. It makes people work together more to create towns and shows who's truly dedicated towards keeping at town.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: more mods a.u.b
« on: 23 Apr 2012, 23:54:04 »
That would still cause a problem. There will always be times where there is no one online who can do anything about someone causing trouble. Even if you add a few people outside of mods who can use the mute command there will still always be times when they are not on and cannot mute people.

This is what the report section is for. To report people for doing things against the rules. It's usually used when there are no mods on, which is when I post there.

I don't see how it's spam in the slightest. It's members posting their pictures/complaints against other users, which is what it's intended for. Each new thread deals with 1-2 different people that a person has found going against the rules, and mods lock the thread to move on after the problem is dealt with.

If you don't like the section then don't go to it. There's no reason to unless you happen to have something to report or want to check if you've been reported anyway, so it's not like people are demanding you go there.

Also, you used me in particular as an example. Saying you hated that I reported in this way. You could have simply said something like "People are just posting there to report spammers, which I hate", but instead singled out a single person as an example. I found this incredibly rude.

Well excuse me when I think it would be nice if the person would get banned/muted so we wouldn't have to deal with our chats being spammed up for up to an hour on end just because there was no mod online.

Didn't know it was bad to try to stop all the irritation everyone feels all because it may make some person who probably doesn't even bother reading the forums "proud" and "accomplished".

I would like to also point out that I hardly ever bother to respond to these people, unlike other people who will mock them or try to talk reason into them. I know not to feed trolls, so I take a screenie and report so it can be dealt with by a mod without having to cause some kind of scene or make the troll gleeful that people are responding.

I find it hilarious you quoted a message that says you should do exactly what I do (Which is report the user without causing a fuss so a mod can take care of it) and then complain that I do it. Why did you bother to agree to this quote and then hypocritically go against what you just agreed with?

Towns & Nations / Re: I have a few questions on towns.
« on: 23 Apr 2012, 03:08:04 »
1. I'd probably say that since the town was deleted that yes, you can build there as it no longer belongs to the town.
2. Town members will automatically be able to as the plot perms will automatically set so that residents, allies, and outsiders can use switches like levers and pressure plates.
3. Plots are chunks. Therefore they line up, and you cannot move plots.
4. Plots are the entire 16x16 area from bedrock to the highest block available. So no, they don't have to be on sea level.
5. I know you can do this but I forgot the command.
6. You'll need to know where the 16x16 chunks are, and then usually people outline the area with slabs. You can put a plot up for sale using /plot fs amount
7. Yes, you can create as many public buildings as you want. It would be the same as just regular building.

2. If you could add anything to the server what would you add and why?
Tidal's last comment reminded me of this.

New rules for the PVP arenas.

I am sick of and disgusted at the fact that there is no punishment for people who do not keep their agreements for returning people's items. This is griefing in my opinion. You agreed to give the person back their stuff, meaning you swore to do it and you are bound by that swear to do it. Not returning the person's items is not only breaking a powerful promise but also breaking any trust in both them and the system.

If you can't properly protect people from having their stuff stolen (And I have seen this happen many times while I've been on) then I don't see a reason to have PVP. By the time someone realizes the person they're PVPing with isn't trustworthy to give back their items it's already too late as the items are in the other person's possession.

It should be a rule to save screenshots of both your items before you PVP and all agreements made between two players, which of course must in some way include the time the screenshot was taken for full proof of it. This would be an almost fool-proof way to ensure that PVP is fairly taken care of.

Or there could be some kind of mod for this type of thing. I have absolutely no idea.

Alright Dragon, if you're on right now I can pass over the rails to you! I have so many right now, it'll be nice to get rid of them. (I've scoured lots of mineshafts over the time I've been here, so I've collected up quite a lot...)

I'm not really good with creating rollercoasters and since you're good at it I'd love if you'd make it. ;3

Also, can you fix the fact that "forg" is banned as well as "yorg"? I really have no idea why either is banned in the chat, but it makes saying "forgot" hard to see.

And a system that logs how many cusses someone says would be nice. So that if a person says a cuss like 3 times they're kicked, 6 and it's a temp ban, etc.

How about instead of getting rid of it we alter it.

Some alterations could be: No need for the titles in the "has entered" and in the online list. Instead we could just use the color of the title.

Have it so that moderators are forced to see all the worlds, so that no spammers or anything gets missed because they were in a separate world.

That's because that's one of the ones you don't have to do the "#:#" for on the data value.

Simply put "Iron Ingot" on it, and it'll be fine.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: More community events
« on: 18 Apr 2012, 21:03:46 »
I've seen someone do a redstone event before, where people had a few hours to come up with a useful redstone structure.

Perhaps this kind of competition could be spread out over a week, so people have a while to come up with something useful with redstone and then the rest of the time to create it.

I know personally that if I was in a redstone competition I'd want to play around on my creative file so that I could test it out since redstone requires so much testing to make sure it works.

Towns & Nations / Re: DragonFire

Actually I'd fixed the shop tax so that it only costs $10 per day just like regular plots do. It was to avoid confusion since I had no idea how much they cost prior to that. If it ever gets changed again I'll make an announcement about it of course.

By the way, does anyone know how to see all the residents currently in your town? I've been looking for that command so I can "/mail send" residents individually announcements since that's the quickest way I can think of to inform them, but I just can't see all the residents. Used to be able to with "/town" but now we have so many it cuts off with "and more..." on the residents section.

Soon we'll have some more things around the town like Dragon said, it's just an overall work in progress while we get more plots to fit people and then determine what we want to add to the town. :3

If any current residents in DragonFire have ideas (And those outside of it, if they want to offer any!) please feel free to step forward and give your opinion.
