So over the last 10 hours or so Notch has been sending out tweets about how the Yogscast behaved at Minecon, he was appalled at the swearing they had done throughout their live panel.

They called us "a bunch of nerds who don't know how to run a company", demanded that we pay them to come here (nobody else got paid).

And they claim they're the reason minecraft is big and that we should thank them more than anyone else in the community. They're total d**ks

A kid wanted them to sign something I had signed, and they said they'd cross it out and put "f**k you" there instead.

Everyone else in the Minecraft community is all about respecting and caring. They're not. They're an isolated island of egos.

All this said, I'm very tired at the moment, and this will probably pass. I do like the work they do, very much.

The situation

Hello everyone it's been quite a busy few days getting ready for v5 and waiting for the release of Minecraft. The Noobscraft team was planning to release Noobstown v5 on the 19th of November but we are having some trouble with Bukkit at this moment in time. This is due to  them not updating their server software to 1.0.0 without this we cannot run plug-ins and other cool stuff. We currently have a non recommended build of Bukkit installed but there are way too many bugs and glitches to make the release an exciting, safe and an overall fun experience that we can all enjoy. So, lets not rush into things and ruin what we have worked on for about a month or two.

Our Original Plan

On the 17th of November 2011 we had finished Noobstown v5 ready for the Veterans and was planning to open as soon as Bukkit released, we expected Bukkit to update faster as they knew about the release date for a very long time but unfortunately for us Notch and the Mojang team have changed so much code that it is going to take longer than expected. We expect a safe build around Wednesday time on the 23rd of November, we hope anyway. Once we are able to release V5 successfully we will allow Veterans to login and play for 3 days then V5 wil be open to everyone. Once again we are sorry for the delay and keep your eyes pealed for updates!

What will happen on the day of the release (Veterans)

On the day of the release we will start white-listing each Veteran one by one, we'll make a post on the VIP section of the forum about opening and so forth. Once you guys login you'll be able to spend your donation points instantly and get working on what you wish to. (You may come across some issues with plugin set up and so forth on v5 but we'll slowly try and improve things over the three days as you guys are playing)

Server Announcements / Countdown!!

As you may know a Countdown has appeared on the website, this will count down until the 19th of November 2011 at 0:00am GMT.

The server doors for v5 will open on the 19th for VIP's for three days to the 22nd and then the server will be open to all. We are opening for VIP's on the same day as the 1.9 release (Minecon) so expect little disruption at the start of our release while we update the server to the recommended build. The VIP's are acting as some what beta testers before the release so we can make sure everything is perfect for the players of Noobstown.

More information will be posted leading up to the release for both VIP and normal players, we hope everything goes smooth and we can have an enjoyable grand opening on the day.

Noobstown's latest version five is well under way and should be complete around Mid November (Possibly earlier depending on how things pan out) this time we aren't making an official date for release because as some of you know Minecraft doesn't always go to plan, our last release saw many problems and the grand opening was a little too messy. (We plan to avoid that!!)
 
 
About v5:
 
Version Five has an interesting fantasy medieval theme that may bring old players back to v1, the town has a welcoming feel with many things to explore and you will most likely get lost! although we have many tutorials and teleports to help navigating around town much easier. 
 
There are Six districts within the Noobstown complex:
 
Trade District:
 
As you enter Noobstown you will be faced with the Trade district a very busy and lively district that includes shops, market stalls and some town houses. All the shops will be server shops and will have unlimited stock although the Market stall will be owned by players, trading with other players doesn't get more exiting when running your own little stall.
 
 
Industrial District
 
The Industrial district is one of the most useful sides of town, repair, train, level up and earn Noobz could not be easier, the industrial district has it all. The industrial district includes: Black smiths, Workshops, Armouries, Guilds, Waterworks and more.
 
Farming District
 
The farming district is the rural side of town that has useful traits such as Apothecary stall for potion ingredients, pig, cow and chicken pens for training swords, bows or for an easy food source. The farmers will also sell you fresh veg, fruit, wheat, bread and other cool stuff.
 
Wizard District
 
The Wizard district is the oldest part of town that includes teleportation, Wizard schools, potions stalls and magical exciting stuff. There are four world teleports within the Wizard district that takes you to different worlds such as the Mining world, RPG world, Nether and Ender world.
 
VIP District
 
An exclusive Spawn area for VIP's that will be all the cool aspects of each district merged into one, weather changing abilities, animal spawning, Slot machines and more.
 
Royal District
 
The Royal District is the spawn area for everyone apart from VIP's the district will include: The Noobstown Castle (The Tutorial area), Jails and a Cathedral.
 
 
NPC's will be spread around the town offering Teleportation, Protection, Quests (Future) and finally will be vendors for selling items to or buying items from.
 
New Website features
 
Automated Membership applications that will accept you as a full member on Noobstown once complete, this is removes all of the waiting time from our previous version.
 
Donations are now fully automated using a Point system that will give Donator points to spend on items, blocks, features and Noobz. All items are delivered directly to the Donator instantly when bought through the Donator shop.
