Bukkit still has not updated to 1.7! ~ awaiting a safe build, tweaking and finishing up whilst we wait. Sorry again for the delays, we really want the release to be perfect.

Server Announcements / Re: Unexpected Sad News!« on: 24 Oct 2013, 17:49:07 »Let me start by saying I am glad not to be in the admins shoes, must have been a tough call. By releasing in 1.6.4 we'd still have to work towards the 1.7 update anyway, because we can't stay on 1.6.4 forever then we'd have test everything for 1.7 and then the server would be up and down again. This would not only spoil the experience of v6 but cause you to have further delays when starting your new homes or towns it wouldn't work. We'd prefer to work for a steady 1.7 release with everything fully supported and then it can be left up for the entire Christmas holidays. 405
Server Announcements / Unexpected Sad News!« on: 22 Oct 2013, 21:55:34 »Minecraft 1.7: The Update that Hey all, It is with regret to announce that the release of Minecraft 1.7 could most likely be on Friday (The date v6 was schedule to launch) we have decided it will be in the servers best interests to postpone the date of launch. We are not comfortable releasing completely newly coded plugins designed around 1.6+ on a 1.7 build, as this will not only require re-coding but also coding to account for the version changes and effects on our custom biomes. As well as this, we also have to wait for each plugin that has been created by developers from bukkit to update, which could also take some time. This also create serious implications for our Noobsween Events. As we are clearly running out of time anyway (Almost end of October), the chances of a full scale Noobween this year will not be possible. However, we do not plan to give up on the event completely! there will still be small Noobween themed events running into November. Again, we apologize for further delays. Quality over quantity! we wan't Noobstown v6 to launch safely and correctly and these are the necessary precautions we will have to take. Information regarding the new release date will be announced as soon as possible. Server Announcements / Re: Time to begin - Release date« on: 22 Oct 2013, 15:15:49 »Are parts of the forum getting a clean-up on the release date? Like deleting everything from V5 in the towns & nations forum? Might be usefull for the new people joining after the reset so they don't start looking for V5 towns because they sound so good in the forum (not knowing that these town do no longer exist). We have been cleaning up most of the old official V5 information to avoid confusion to new users, we'll continue to remove or lock outdated topics that no longer are useful to avoid further confusion. If by shop you mean, Donation? We hope we can open it for the release but out of everything we need to prepare for the release, that isn't high priority right now. 407

Guides / Re: V6 Guide: Horses« on: 21 Oct 2013, 22:17:22 »So even a named entity can despawn? Unfortunately named entities are still effected by our dynamic despawning system, or else each named entity on the server would be forever loaded and would eventually clog up the machine causing lag. We tend to try and be fair about our animal and monster sharing, but this is something we cannot do. However, if you was going to re-name a mob as a pet then you could use the pet system to buy a pet that follows you etc. 409
Guides / Re: V6 Guide: Horses« on: 21 Oct 2013, 21:42:01 »ik this is in another forum section but ill still ask it since foob is reading all these, how much will life vip cost and if i get vip and have veteran can i change my name to veteran and still have vip? Cost has not been decided just yet, sorry. This is how the rank system works Member -> VIP Veteran -> VIP Then if VIP runs out Member -> VIP -> Supporter Veteran -> VIP -> Veteran Obviously Lifetime VIP would cancel out Veteran completely, however you will still have access to all your veteran commands and perks. 410
Guides / Re: V6 Guide: Horses« on: 21 Oct 2013, 21:37:48 »So... will normal breeding be enabled or is buying them the only way to get more horses? Normal breeding will be enabled. However, breeding a horse the traditional way does not protect it from player killing and does not save its contents nor the entity itself. Meaning that anything you find in the wild is always going to be temporary like normal Minecraft, they may despawn or be killed. Horses within the stable system are saved and re-summonable at any time you wish. 411
Guides / Re: V6 Guide: Horses« on: 21 Oct 2013, 21:06:41 »Also for the horses that require donating, are there already prices made up for them? And how about the VIP horses are there any prices for these already? VIP horses are free horses for VIP which is the Black Horse. Token holders can spend tokens to unlock the White Horse. Donation Prices for Skeletal and Undead horses are not set in stone yet. 412

Server Announcements / Time to begin - Release date« on: 19 Oct 2013, 01:58:43 »Hey all, I am happy to announce that Noobstown will re-open its doors on the Want to know when this is in your time? Noobstown Early Access Noobstown Release to Public Thanks to Applessmillion for the Time & Date conversions As there are a lot of new systems in place, please understand that teething issues will most likely occur during the first couple of weeks after release. You can expect maintenance to be going on multiple times a day, at any point and unannounced. All bug reports and feedback are appreciated as always, and we'll be working around the clock to re-build the stability that the community grew used to in v5. Once again, we would like to thank you all for your incredible patience and understanding during this whole process. Let the new era and fun begin, good luck and enjoy the experience! 417
Server Announcements / Re: 6.0 Preparation« on: 14 Oct 2013, 13:04:08 »I understand building a new server and testing all the new plugins that are to be implemented... The reason we shut down earlier than actually being finished was due to the server changes and data transfers, unfortunately we cannot do that whilst everyone is online generating new data. 418
Server Announcements / Re: 6.0 Preparation« on: 13 Oct 2013, 23:22:11 »from my experience, you cant really fully test anything without public access. Hence why betas exist and even so, games are still buggy. It's not a case of irradiating all bugs before we release because like you say, it is impossible to test things without public access and we totally agree. We expect there to be bugs on the release, we expect to be fixing them all night long during the first night, which we are totally preparing for. However, what you might fail to understand is that we do this as a hobby, as much free time as I can possible dedicate goes to running the servers and that goes for Lawrence and Waterworth too. 'Plugin testing' meaning the first time we've officially tested the plugin since its development over the entire summer. We aren't simply looking for bugs, we are asking questions like 1. Does it function correctly? 2. Does it cause any severe issues to the server in terms of lag 3. Is it safe to use on release for public testing? As you can see it is not simply just looking for small things, we do expect players to do that on the release. The aim is to release the server when we are happy to, when we feel that what we have in place will work and be a fun experience for the new era of Noobstown. Ruining the release by rushing into things, will make the version forever bad. We understand the frustration of waiting and we ourselves want to release the version as soon as humanly possible. We also appreciate everyone for being so supportive and sticking with Noobstown for this entire change-over process. I hope you kinda understand our situation and know that it is being worked on and there isn't too much left in terms of core development testing. Thank you ![]() 419
Noobstown General / Re: Is gambling ok?« on: 9 Oct 2013, 22:24:26 »well officially the "gambling" you've been talking about some people were doing it in v5... as long as u scam no one then you should be good... We don't mind people making games and doing gambling but we don't advise players to put their full trust in those methods, as they are not ran by the server nor are 100% scam proof. 420
Noobstown General / Re: Is gambling ok?« on: 9 Oct 2013, 22:21:39 »
Gambling within our systems such as the Lottery, Slot machines, eventually Chicken roulette and Horse racing are all acceptable forms of moderated and server-run gambling on the server in v6. Any other forms of gambling are not safe and if such acts break the scamming rules, ban will be given out.
As always, we try and keep an acceptable amount of fun and enjoyment in the server, we don't encourage gambling in real life. Gambling within the server is within a safe environment on admin monitored machines and all of which features are safe. Exploring gambling in a safe virtual environment with virtual money is the best way to learn and understand the whole concept in my personal opinion. 421
Server Announcements / Re: Donation Points Update & Information« on: 8 Oct 2013, 16:33:20 »Just curious ... Where will the coupon(s) be listed/viewed? And will there be some sort of notification when our points are converted to vouchers? Coupons are sent via Personal message, you'll be told a break down of exactly how many points you had and their worth in coupon and the codes themselves. I've currently put the coupon creation on hold due to it being a manual job and it isn't of the highest priority right now, will be finished before the release though so don't worry too much. I think only around 30-40 players have their coupons right now. 422

Server Announcements / Noobween!« on: 5 Oct 2013, 04:10:38 »Update: This weekend is our official testing weekend for the plugins we have been developing over the summer, after those initial tests have been complete we can finally look at a date for the release. To answer a concern: Yes, we'll be releasing in 1.6.4 unless another version is released in October (Doubt it) And the server will be transformed shortly after release into our Noobsween theme. Noobsween is one of our favourite holiday events in the server and we hope you'll be around to enjoy the fun and excitement as we did last year. |
