We plan to update much quicker than the estimations above, all depends on Bukkit and how are plugins work along side the new release. My estimation is within 2-5 hours.

I'm not 100% sure where this question fits on here, so if this is the wrong spot my apologies. I also suspect this will need an admin answer, because I definitely do not want to run afoul of server rules!
If a town were to create it's own forum, totally Noobstown centric of course, would it be advertising to give that link to people? I'm not talking spamming it in general (because that would be gauche! ), I'm talking giving it to residents in our town chat or in private to those who ask about it.
I'm well aware there's a no advertising rule, which I agree with and support. But something like this would help town resident communication, so I am hopeful it isn't considered advertising. (But if it is, I will certainly comply! )
We don't mind as long as it's directed in your town chat only, we prefer not to have the Global chat full of unwanted links and spam. Although, In future updates we do plan to have Town pages/portals on the forum in which town members can communicate, players can join and statistics and what not. Hope this answers your question.

You can now create temporary channels that you have full access too these will generally last a few hours but allow you to lock, kick and control whatever goes on in your chat group.

Staff,
I would just like to say thank you, Me and my daughter play minecraft together. Your server is the first I have let her go on besides our local inhouse one. She made it on in time for the drop party. All I kept hearing was THIS IS AWESOME!!!. You made her day!
Looks like we found a good home.
Thanks

Not too sure where this goes, so sorry if this is in the wrong section.
When I went to restock my shop about 5-10 minutes ago, I reached my plot but I found my building was completely gone along with all of the items inside. It was just like I bought the plot except for a few dirt blocks. Yesterday there were no signs telling me anything about my shop in danger of being removed. I received no message detailing the disappearance/removal of my shop. I would just like to know what happened, and if there is any way I can get it back without having to rebuild. And if I can get the hundreds of items I lost.
My shop went from this:
 To this:

The Market's rules state you must pay tax in order to keep your shop running. Unfortunately, you were caught at a bad time, I was checking shops for potential abandoned or tax abandoned plots and was removing accordingly. You shop appeared to have been lost due to tax, your item's will not be refunded. In future I suggest you learn, read and understand what you pay for before you do so, sorry this had to happen.

Back Online :poptart: Mojang authentication servers are down, this means you'll be unable to connect to Noobstown until further notice. The servers that authenticate purchased minecraft accounts have gone offline for some reason or another. This means you'll be unable to play on Noobstown this evening. (Let's hope the issue is resolved soon) We will post more information about the situation as we hear from Mojang. UPDATES:

AMAZING but when will the spleef and mob arena be up i checked the events world and there not there
Later during the summer, it's been a long night and a long maintenance almost 7hours. We couldn't possibly get it set-up tonight. Let's not rush these things and let them be set-up correctly, once everything is complete you'll enjoy them.

We have one of the best hardware setup's going it's nothing to do with the hardware we are running on, all these false assumptions are really irritating. The current problem we are facing is PermissionsBukkit, we have over 30,000 Players set-up in a yaml file, this is crazy. We are hoping to migrate to PEX as the data can be stored in a MYSQL data base, all the rank changing and such is causing lag because the file is getting bigger. We plan to fix this soon, but it'll be hell of a job.

Summer is here, school is over and it's time to enjoy Minecraft for your holiday break. Noobstown will be hosting a wide range of events to keep you guys occupied during the summer, including: - Automated spleef, play whenever you wish with your friends. We'll also be hosting tournaments and match ups for big prizes. - Player verses Player, we will be adding some sort of hunger games type events during the summer break. There will also be tournaments between players and towns for prizes - Player versus Enviroment (computer controlled monsters) Noobstown is finally re-introducing the famous mob arena! Join a game, pick a class and battle it out together against waves of monsters. The further you go in the game (More waves) the better rewards you can earn. - Improvements to server security against griefers. Griefers can ruin your experience, attempting to get a mod at the specific time of the grief can be quite irritating. Well, we plan on fixing this for the better. Introducing our brand new anti-grief! The /grief command, it'll be used for when you have been griefed. Simply stand in the area, type /grief and this will be sent to our brand new moderation panel. The panel is sent these griefs one by one that form in a que like fashion, moderations will then be able to go through each grief one by one rolling them back until they are all fixed. - Further Spam control, we are adding more spam preventions and toning down the guest speaking abilities when they join the game. - Reducing congestion in the global chat This summer will be a blast and will completely change the way Noobstown works in such a positive way. Behind the scenes we are always working hard to invent and implement new ideas that'll make your Minecraft experience that much more fun. P.S Chest shop tax has been reduced from 30% to 10%

UPGRADE COMPLETE AT 10AM BST Noobstown will be taken down on Friday the 22nd June, when we upgrade the server CPU. This upgrade will hopefully allow more people to play with less lag and speed up the overall experience of Noobstown. We are also updating our Network line to a Gigabit, this line transmits Ethernet frames at a rate of a gigabit per second (1,000,000,000 bits per second). Thanks again for all your support, without the donations this wouldn't be possible. Also a big thank you to our sponsor Global7 for their hard work and dedication over Noobstown 1 year+ running time, these upgrades wouldn't be possible without them either. Day: Friday 22nd June Downtime: Estimated 2hours or so Time: Unknown, whenever its ready on the day. Summer holidays are approaching!

We are working on adding a spleef plugin so you can host your own spleef events and we'll probably set up some smaller pvp arenas for events in the future. Lots coming this summer!

Thanks for being incredibly patient throughout the whole maintenance process. Luckily there were no errors in our RAM so we are good to go, I have made some changes that will hopefully speed up the server for the better, those lag spikes and mass disconnections shouldn't happen any more. Please give feedback if anything has improved for you, or if not. To those experiencing server block-age due to ALT accounts, this has been fixed. You should now be able to fully connect to Noobstown with no issues!

Never really had a problem with this cause everything I allow people to sell to my chests are things I know I can earn profit back on but thanks for telling the creater of chestshops about it tho
Even still, if enough people work together and sell everything to you they can bankrupt the richest person on the game.
True but it is a small chance that a chest get filled with diamonds which is the only item I pay "A lot" for, if it is x-ray is most likely why.
And even if the chests in my shop will be full I still got around 150k left :p Being rich is sometimes good
Some people have been trying to bankrupt people on purpose, going on the space you have left in your diamond shop people can bankrupt you by 230k from that shop alone. Even if an x-rayer does mine all those diamonds, we may not catch him before he catches you.
