The server will go down on Monday the 23rd of April 2012 for at least 30minutes to an hour as we switch to our much faster and stronger server. This upgrade will enable us to have more players online and decrease the lag for your benefit. Update: You can now view and talk in the General chat in all worlds, this will hopefully make it easier to interact with people you were previously speaking to or for help.
However if you are in a different world and require help I suggest using /helpop followed by your question as it's much more visible to an online moderator.

From withdrawel symptoms. The server is down, and its been over 4 minutes already!

Ah well, at least it gives a while to browse the forum, i refuse to try any of those inferior servers!

We feel spawner's should be used for farming purposes, it's hard to keep animals around your pens due to the multi player bugs and this is the fix for that, your own personal spawning farm animals.
Problem with adding monsters spawner's:
1. The world has a 2000 Mob limit having these mobs spawning at the mob machines will completely kill of the survival aspect of the server. Basically you would rarely see mobs around the wilderness or when mining in caves.
2. Easy farm-able exp, people spend enough of their time gathering exp from these machines it takes the fun out of killing dragons or working your way up to getting the best enchants. I have witnessed on one or more occasions of players stood AFK below a mob machine gathering exp.

1. Would you like to keep your inventory on death, just the hot bar or keep the survival aspect and lose it all? I'd like to lose it all.
2. If you could add anything to the server what would you add and why? Well to be honest with you I don't really know, but I'd love one of the new events to include you, Joe to build a small town or city with your awesome building skills that is then used for a zombie survival. I really only play two servers, Noobstown most of the day and Project Zombie, if It was possible to bring some of Project Zombie on to Noobstown then that would be the perfect server for my liking.
3. Whats your favourite activity to do on the server and why? (Skills, Towns, PVP etc.) I like to maintain my town when I'm not leveling skills or PVPing, I love everything that is provided in Noobstown.

Noobstown will be undergoing some changes during the next few weeks, we have some good ideas to improve the server and keep the experience of Noobstown and multiplayer at it's finest.
Changes:
Out with the old world and in with the new!
PVP World has now been transformed into an events world, this world will contain Games, PVP (Player vs Player), PVE (Player vs Environment) and finally Seasonal for Easter, Christmas, Halloween and Valentines related events.
The world is all about fun, it's a great way to break off from your average minecraft survival game. The world only currently contains PVP Battlegrounds but we are adding more events such as mob arenas, spleef, races, party rooms, horde games and much more.
Chatting
We understand that our current chatting system is annoying and confusing. I personallly find there is so much unwanted chat in the global channel that really doesn't need to be there. Here are some examples: "Hey John, throw me an apple my hunger bar is low" Why would you wan't to see this? It's something that should be said in Local chat if you are near a friend. Another example is "Kill John he's up in the tree's" As a player not PVPing this would be quite annoying.
Heres where the new system comes in!
Chat channels for each world you'll not be able to leave these and you will be forced to join them upon entering a new world, this will significantly reduce the amount of unwanted spam in the main world chat.
Chat channels:
General (Main world)
Nether (Nether world)
EnderRealm (The End)
Events (Events world)
Mining (Mining world)
Local (localised chat for every world, 100 block talking distance)
This new system will categorise players into the correct channel depending on what world you are in. Example: If you are playing PVP and talking about who you just killed you will be talking to other players PVPing or playing games.
The system will also block spam and spam bots, convert CAPS to non caps and censor swearing.
Rewards & Community voting
In the future I hope to host a community voting and reward system for hard work and dedication to the server. This would allow the community to come together to vote for your favourite staff member, town, player or even Admin!

We have altered the way mobs spawn in the world, in most servers you will see very little amounts of mobs around the world. These mobs are usually away from all the players or just loaded in old chunks and not being used. We have adapted a system where mobs only spawn near players so that its much easier to find mobs. Mobs will regularly de-spawn and move to a different locations to spread mobs out in the world.

I don't know what I have done, But Apparently I'm a horrible person. So I'm not going to be playing on Noobstown much more. Except for when the Hunger Games start happening.
Disrespect/Respect was removed today due to people trolling them. The disrespects are nothing personal so please don't take them to heart, enjoy the server.

This is an idea that I would really like to happen. Have a chat room with voice. So everyone with microphones can talk to each other while playing Minecraft?
We had a team speak server, this may return in the future if we get enough people going onto it. We had a server before but it was empty most days which resulted in the server closing.
