I've been getting "Failed to login: Error" messages all morning so far, however the online count has changed over time making me think others can connect. I haven't seen an announcement about downtime or an upgrade either, so I'm at a loss as to why I cannot connect. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I find myself in a bit of a frustration generating problem, I dislocated my shoulder and cannot play games that require me to use both hands until my doctor lets me out of my sling. This means I cannot play Minecraft in any form unless I can find a way to play with just one hand, preferably a way that doesn't require me to buy new software or hardware. So I'm asking the community at large here, any ideas?

Not sure if anyone recalls his work other than me (being a greybeard), but he passed away today. "The Stainless Steel Rat", "Bill The Galactic Hero", and the inspiration for "Soylent Green", "Make Room! Make Room!" were all all his work. He shall be missed.

As a town assistant, one of the things I've had to help with is perform plot evictions for people who haven't been on in a while. The process we've hoped to do is set up a chest (or chests) in our town hall, move their stuff to those chests for storage purposes, then demolish the plot. However, we've had difficulty getting access to chests, furnaces, doors, and anything else the plot resident may have protected. Supposedly a "/plot clear" by the mayor is supposed to correct this, but it hasn't always, and that assumes the mayor has had the time to do so beyond just asking a TA to take care of it. I've personally been making do by asking for mod assistance, but my question is is there a simpler or easier way or process for a TA to help take care of this? Obviously, I understand that this is potentially a power abuse area, so I suspect it isn't easy intentionally. But I figured I'd ask to be sure.

It would appear the Minecraft log in server is offline. I'm getting "unable to check service status" from the Mojang support page for everything. Just an FYI if anyone else is having connection issues right now.

Apparently the Minecraft central log in servers are down. I've been trying to log in for a bit now, went on over there, and apparently many people are reporting the same thing. No official ETA posted on it yet.

I'm not 100% sure where this question fits on here, so if this is the wrong spot my apologies. I also suspect this will need an admin answer, because I definitely do not want to run afoul of server rules! If a town were to create it's own forum, totally Noobstown centric of course, would it be advertising to give that link to people? I'm not talking spamming it in general (because that would be gauche! ), I'm talking giving it to residents in our town chat or in private to those who ask about it. I'm well aware there's a no advertising rule, which I agree with and support. But something like this would help town resident communication, so I am hopeful it isn't considered advertising. (But if it is, I will certainly comply! )

I'm still feeling my way around the mods, features, and commands Noobstown has, but one in particular I haven't been able to find out about yet. If I were to set up a shop, can I share it and allow others to buy/sell within it? If so, does the shop signs reflect this? And how would I go about doing it?
I've been searching the forums without finding an answer to these questions, so if there is answers already posted, my apologies!

I know I'm relatively new still, but it's seemed like Mining World has been relatively safe from critters unless they come directly from a spawner, at least until today. Today, twice, while I was deep mining, I had a boat load of critters spawn directly behind me. The first time I saw 3 creepers, 2 zombies and one skeleton. The second time I was near an abandoned mine, and I saw at least 5 cave spiders. I'm guessing something has changed, which in and of itself I don't mind. But I'd like to have a tad more warning than noise, half second to turn around, STAB/BOOM! Just asking if something has changed, what's changed so I can better prepare for it, and report what I encountered on the hopeful chance whatever changed accidentally got set too high.

Greetings and felicitaions! Or something... I am new to the server and to Minecraft in general. I am still trying to figure out how to do things, but I hope I won't have too many stupid questions... I'm probably one of the older players, I'll be 47 this year. I'm used to that, but then I also tend to play older games, even online... ;D Minecraft is a good mix of old school and new though, so I expect it will hold my interest for a long time.
