Towns & Nations / Re: The new standard of living in V6...
« on: 8 Jul 2013, 18:54:30 »
As for your first paragraph, I have no idea how that pertains to the fact that I stated we will have amenities in town. As for the second, I run a town currently that offers housing to anyone who applies. I have been running Redskin Nation since it's start, 92 days ago. I can honestly tell you that an open town is not the best way to go. If you wish to do so, go right on ahead, I couldn't care less. However, don't denounce the way I am choosing to run my v6 town, because I have experience and it doesn't really affect you. This is a good situation in which to utilize the "Agree to Disagree" option.

Luke, they can talk about all this stuff, but dont join just cause what they say. That will take months to make and build if all that is true. Stay with me in The Imperium.
Well it will obviously take a while to get all of what we are planning but with help and loyalty from residents we will get what we have planned faster. And in Imperium, you have to apply to get into the town. Everyone should be welcome to join a town.

Not exactly sure how my town was brought into this. But, to clarify: the application system is meant to enrich the player experience and create a more one-on-one society and community. In an open town, much as the one which I currently run, the mayor and staff don't have the opportunity to associate with and get to know every person. I think that the mayor should really know everyone who he is working with and managing. Imperium isn't supposed t be hard t join based on the application system that it utilizes, it is merely supposed to be friendly and tight-knit. Our community is going to be based solely off of the town staff's ideas and opinions, because we want to incorporate member ideas and make the town functional. Goal number one is to be utilitarian, goal number two is to be pretty. A base must first serve its job before the aesthetic planning goes into place. Ideally, members of Imperium will not have to leave town to get any resources, other than mined ores, because we will supply all of these amenities. Much work will have to be done to achieve this, but we have two devoted mayors already planning and building to make these dreams come true. Our application process will enable us to have qualified people join the town, people who can both be an asset to the town, and have the town be an asset to them. Membership is easy... as of this message, nearly half of all applicants have been accepted. Also, there are more to come... On our website, I stress that we aren't meant to be an aristocratic society... Simply that those who join are expected to help and must follow the process like everyone else. Hope that explains why we will be choosing to use an application process and have a limited admittance to the town.

On a separate note, I hope you don't mean this so much... You have been useful to the town in v5 and were a co-founder... Would hate to see you go when v6 rolls around. I guess I will see.

The two bolded areas I have made in the comment by AdrianCavi are where I would like to discuss. First of all, in my town, we will have an area with plots that are built on with 3 story houses and a basement for storage (they will cost a bit extra), and a empty plot area within each residential district. I think that people should have a choice on if they want to build a house or want to move in a pre-built house, not be forced into living in a pre-built one if they don't want to, or don't want to live on a plot that they need to build on if they feel they can't design a good looking house or do not have the resources to build what they have in mind for their house. In my town, you may not have to leave town for resources at all! We will have many shops, a mining cave, an excavation area, AND a CHOICE of pre-built houses or empty plots. Yes, much work will need to be done to achieve these things, but as it happens I have part of my staff team already picked out and we have THREE mayors (me, Smith, and another sub-mayor) running the town.

To the second boldfaced area: ONLY half? See, if those people were in my town, I would have accepted 90% of them at least, depending on how well they follow rules and behave. I want a good community that follows the rules, not just people that can build pretty little houses. If they can't build the houses and feel that they need help, we will be glad to help them with building the house FOR FREE. This town is meant to be in the interests of both business AND the common man, not just one or the other.

What Smith said, and we have very dedicated staff. This is just touching the surface of what we plan to have accomplished in the first year of V6. And besides we will both have Veteran and tons of tokens so we can buy materials etc.. By V6's first birthday, we hope to have 200 residents in the town (4 separate district areas to live in, one for Town Staff, the other 3 for regular town members), have 1 million Noobz in the town bank, have at least 1 casino set up, a horse racing course, three PvP arenas, a parkour area and spleef arena, the shopping and business district set up, and at least one mining cave restocked with ores weekly. I know it sounds like a lot, but I am seriously thinking we can get all this and more done by then.

I think any town has some serious competition with us in the mix of towns :P ;). We plan to have horse spawners in town at the town's spawn building (Which by the way is going to be amazing and quite big so make sure to check out all its cool features!) and will be selling cheap horse wear, like saddles, horse armor, and leads, so people can ride horses in town. This is one of the many things I plan to do that will make my town the most well-known in V6.

Simply put, I have much planned for V6, including opening a great city with lots of things to do, fully automated with redstone work from many tests between SmithB0118 and I on a LAN world we use for V6 Noobscraft ideas. The name will be released soon, about 1 week before the shutdown of V5. The town will have everything from fishing docks to public mining areas (10 noobz to get in every time) restocked with ores regularly to automated games, multiple PvP arenas, spleef, and even a giant horse racing course with betting on the horse you want to win! For those who are the gambling type, we will have a few casinos in town. For the business people, we are going to have a giant business/shopping district, including the HQ of a business I am opening along with a few others. Welcome to the new standard of town life.

I say get the save the server, get the Goo Mod, plant the goo at spawn, and have it consume the world, last person living wins 3000 tokens!

Before you start to read this, I will warn you, it is particularly long for a "short" story. Please don't DQ me, I had a lot to say and wasn't sure if there was a requirement to the length. They say a picture is worth a thousand words; well, if this were pictures, I'd say there'd be at least 10 pictures :P.

Chapter 1: The Early Days
I joined Noobscraft in V5 on April 13th, 2013. I played with my friends from school, joeyishar, JacksonMCRand, flyinghotdog1, and somejob. The first day, I met a moderator needing help on a project. His name was EmporerMyrf. Most of you probably know him, as he still is a moderator. He has been a moderator for the longest out of the current staff team. He and I became good friends, for I was new and in need of a job and some money, and he gave me a chance for a job. He said that people who were helping him needed a diamond pickaxe, and I was very discouraged, as I had no diamonds or even wood tools! I told him I didn't have any of that stuff as I had just started, and he said, "That's OK. I have a rental Diamond Pickaxe for you to use." So I helped him make a huge room underground to build some houses and other things, and after I went to go give him the diamond pickaxe and he said, "No. Keep it so you can make some money and buy a house." He also gave me 10 diamonds. Very soon after this (no more than 30 minutes), I joined Winterhold just before it was at its prime and at its largest. I soon built a house. There was no roof (as you can see below) and it rained all the time, so my house was mostly underground. I usually stayed underground crafting and expanding my basement instead of making my roof like I should, and was out of town usually, fishing and mining for clay in the frozen lake next to my roofless house at the edge of the city. I was poor, with only 10k at a time most days, but on a good day I might have 15 or 20k.

Chapter 2: My Bans in the Early Days
I soon became a TA of Winterhold after trying once or twice to apply, and I was very happy. I played a lot during the summer of 2012 and was a good help around town for the most part, taking down people's houses who weren't active, making the storage room a lot more organized as well as expanding it, and trying to continue to build my house (never got finished by the way). Sometimes, I will say, I was a pain in the neck to ZeeTheLegend, the mayor of Winterhold. By this time, I had met someone named FinalZMan and she (yes it was a she) had teleported me to a desert biome, where there were some abandoned settlements and a Desert Temple she had made by herself. It was located by a castle, which was grief-ridden and uninhabited. It was called, as I soon found out, KochiraKoso. I had been in the long lost ruins of a once great city, and after FinalZMan mysteriously disappeared (maybe she got banned or left the server I don't know which), I inhabited the castle. I explored and soon found an uninhabited mushroom biome, where I currently reside along with my 4 friends, SmithB0118 (my original business partner and best friend) deebles17, Olah0001, and zebra903. This is somewhat out of context with the rest of my story, as the multiple houses were not finished until very recently (only last week in fact). Because of this, I was soon out of Winterhold more than I was in, and Zee didn't appreciate my neglecting my duties as a TA. Soon after this (and one of the reasons why this happened), Zee and I sometimes got into disagreements about things in town, and once, he destroyed my TA office (these offices were for hiring new staff), which made me quite angry. As Smith and I expanded (we were the only ones out of my 4 current real-life friends on the server), we realized we needed a silktouch shovel to mine out the somewhat uncommon Mycelium. I bought a silktouch shovel for 20k (WAY overpriced) and we were soon growing mushrooms and mining Mycelium to build farms for mushrooms as well as doing other things with it. One day while we were mining Smith said to me (this was about the time deebles registered) "Hey, I was mining and saw an abandoned underground fortress. We should look around and maybe take some redstone lamps from the place while we're at it so we can get some better lighting in our house. So we griefed the house (I was unaware that griefing was against the rules on the server as I was still a noob). The next day, angel9703 (the owner of the fortress and now one of my friends on the server) came on, told the moderators about the grief, and I was banned for 2 days. Smith was not banned (luckily). While this was going on, Zee and I continued to get into disagreements, which escalated, and eventually resulted in my getting banned for 2 months. He sold my house on the market and had the moderators remove my chests after one of the particularly nasty disagreements, and I responded by emptying every last item in the storage room. It was probably one of the biggest heists in the history of the server ( >:() and I regret doing what I did. I was banned for almost two months. It was originally a perma-ban, but after a week of begging Waterworth and annoying the Nether out of him, it was only a month and a half of ban time. He unbanned me the night of the Christmas Drop Party, and after these incidents I promised myself to never break the rules again. Those ban days were the worst of my Minecraft career.

Chapter 3: My New Days
I realized I was better than to break the rules, so I started anew (keeping my house and still living in Kochira's ruins though) and began to try and reforge my destroyed reputation. During my ban time, I had met a friend on the site named Minecraftguy5703. He helped me get unbanned. I started to rapidly need more storage with the arrival of deebles and a stranger named joet3, who had robbed us because he was unaware of it being a bannable offense. joet was perma-banned the day after we let him into our house so we had his stuff removed. deebles, Smith, and I were collecting so much stuff by ourselves though. We found many unlocked chests underground in Kochira, which we had a moderator check and tell us it was OK to take the things inside, as all of the players had been permanently banned or had left the server. Smith and I joined an organization called the Knights of Dagmar, which was owned by a player named Mar****. We continued to expand, and we worked for the knights for food and some money. It wasn't easy, but it was fun. We played a lot when we could, but most of the time we couldn't play on Minecraft. This brings us into the current days with the announcement of V6 and the other two players in my group, Olah and zebra, joining the server.

Chapter 4: The Current Days
With the announcement of V6 and the Top 100 Activity Competition for V6, as well as the arrival of Olah and zebra, we needed more houses, longer playing time, and most of all, SO MUCH MORE STORAGE. It took forever, and we have been battling our way to get on to the Top 100 activity list and stay there. Finally, we have completed what we will need for storage until V6. We have gotten rich, and just a few days ago, I bought a town off of lukestar04 for 107.5K. I cannot wait for V6, and I know my friends can't wait either.

My favorite memories of V5 were... I can't decide! I loved all of V5 and enjoyed the experiences I had on Noobscraft as well as learning so many new things from the great players on this server.

In V6, I hope to create a town, make lots of money, start a large business/company, and become a well-known Veteran on the server. I'll probably be spending a lot of time with Jack in the Casinos too! :) I <3 you Noobscraft!

PS: I need to make another post for my pictures.

810
Yeah that's actually true. Long_Cat retired from Admin post in January I believe. He is now at the rank of Veteran. Only the people who have been playing for quite a while would remember him though so I don't blame you Luke.

Foob please do make a group one soon because I really want my friends to try and get Veteran as well as myself. and OMGUFB I think it means V5 because it does say INSTANT.

813
Just to set the record straight, Olah0001, zebra903, SmithB0118, deebles17, and myself are doing a project together. I agree with Olah on everything he has said and will again cite Fatnoob's comment for you. "WINNER(S) of the Build Competition 1 will get 5000 tokens and instant Veteran status. Also, your build will be featured at the spawn of the museum world in V6, forever leaving your mark in V6." I can even get sworn testimonies from each and every one of the people stated above that it is the 5 of us and only the 5 of us that are working on this project. THIS MESSAGE I GIVE DIRECTLY TO THE ADMINS: IF OUR GROUP WINS THIS COMPETITION I FULLY EXPECT EACH OF US TO BE GIVEN VETERAN. THE TOKENS CAN BE SPLIT INTO 1K PER PERSON, I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT, BUT AS EACH OF US HAS PUT IN A FAIR SHARE OF WORK AND OUR TIME WE SHOULD ALL BE GIVEN EQUAL RECOGNITION FOR IT.

PS. If this seems a bit radical, I apologize beforehand. I am just trying to be a good friends. True friends stick up and fight for each other and that's what I'm trying to do here.

Thankfully this goes on until the 20th so my buddies and I have time to think of a commemorative statue and win this competition. OK now to consult my best architect...

Well, since I live in the Eastern Time Zone, USA, I will (hopefully) be doing it from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM EST (or 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM GMT) and 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM EST (11:00 PM to 12:00 AM/midnight GMT). When I know for certain, I will post the date and time(s) of the auction(s). I may just have one auction because I only have one creeper head currently (soon I will go and try and get some more from killing creepers with an enchanted wooden axe I have ASAP). So I will post again when I know for certain, and if anyone reading this wants to come, just post it.

Market Place / MASSIVE AUCTION BEING HELD
« on: 14 Mar 2013, 20:38:03 »
Hello everyone. I, along with SmithB0118 and deebles17, are doing a huge auction. We are selling everything from gold, iron, lapis, and redstone to bricks, diamond tools and weapons, plus lots of other stuff. This will be leading up to what you may call "The Main Attraction": A creeper head. The bid for that starts at 20K. Everything in our inventories must go. The funds will go towards two things: Money to buy lots of building blocks and tools, and money to create a town.

When: Somewhere between March 15-23, not sure but most likely on either the 16th, 17th, 22nd, or 23rd (depending on when 1.5 comes out).

Where: The Auction Room (a room inside of a hill with little(and I mean VERY LITTLE) rooms in it, just outside of Bushido, where you will stay for the duration of the auction. You will need to TPA to me, Smith, or deebles to get to the auction.)

We ask that you bring a COMPLETELY EMPTY INVENTORY FOR THIS. There will be a lot of items and it would be a shame if you ran out of space and had to leave.

Food will be provided to everyone for free, in case the auction drags on and your hunger bar starts to drop. The food will be 12 melons. If you need more, you can purchase more for 1 noob per every two melon.

P.S. The lowest amount you can raise someone on a bid is 1 noob. NO exceptions.

P.P.S There are only so many spaces. Between 40 to 60 spaces are going to be available for the auction so get there early and get a front row "seat" (You are actually going to be in a 2 block tall and one block deep room).

I want this job because I think that there are not enough mods and admins to monitor the server at all times, and I try to help whenever I can. I think a lot of players can relate to this. The most annoying thing in the world is when you're trying to have fun on a server and there are no mods on to supervise, and some rude guy thinks it's funny to start spamming, swearing, and griefing, thinking they will not get caught. I would like to remind those people right now that they will be caught and banned. I want to help people on the server and help the server, but I can't afford to donate. If I could, I would. This is the only other way I can think of that I can be useful to the server.

Past Experience: I have played on many servers, but none as good as this one. I have an impressive record on other servers, though. I have been an owner of my own server, for a week, am currently a co-owner on another server, an admin on two other servers, and a mod on one other server.

Time Zone: My time zone is EST. GMT -5.

Other Information: I have played Minecraft since February 2012, and joined this server on April 13, 2012. I have been banned twice on this server, and regret it. But I would love to put that all behind me and have another chance to prove myself.
