| As always we've put an Advent calendar on the site like we normally do; this counts down the days until Christmas. As the server isn't currently online we're going to give out different amounts of Tokens each day. Simply check back on the calendar each day and click the space which represents the day's date (according to GMT); this will reveal the gift of the day. A recent abnormally high amount of traffic caused parts of the site to go offline for a period of time earlier today. This problem has hopefully been fixed and we will be looking into ways to ensure it doesn't occur again.

Just a quick message regarding the recent site downtime:
I'd like to apologise for the last few hours while the site was down unexpectedly. This was a problem caused partly by our data-centre; the fault has been rectified and the site should be back running as normal again.
As with all our downtime; we're putting in steps to try and ensure that similar problems like this don't occur again.

UPDATE: The server should now be back online again, sorry for the downtime.
The datacentre where Noobstown's server runs from is currently experiencing an unexpected network outage, and because of this the server is down right now. We'd like to apologise for this and ensure you that we're working on getting Noobstown back online as fast as possible.
Again sorry for the downtime, it will be back online soon. We'll post any more information once we get it; although the downtime hopefully won't be too long.

Server Announcements / Minecraft 1.6 Update Information

The server has now been updated to 1.6 please follow the instructions given in the client for information on how to upgrade your launcher.
As most of you will know already Minecraft 1.6 is planned for release sometime tomorrow (Monday, 1st of July). This update will not go live on Noobstown at the same time as the client update is released. As normal; it will take us time to update our server files, and as such we recommend you do not update straight away. We will make a public post here on the site when we have updated so that you can too.
This new update involves a brand new launcher, which will of course need downloading to play once we've updated. An update for this client is likely to be posted on Mojang.com, I'll update this post once we have more information regarding this (and we'll be sure to explain it once we update the server too).
I'd like to stress though that our update to Minecraft 1.6 will not be the release of V6, and announcements will be posted separately regarding this as it gets closer.

Market Place / Market District Plot Auction (2)

The first plot to the left of the Market District entrance on the front row is up for auction (It's labelled with a sign, make sure you know which one it is)! We are aware that the plots on the front row of the district are highly sought after and so we believe that the fairest way to sell off this plot is to offer it up for auction to the highest Noobz bidder; if no one bids then it will be put up for sale like normal plots. You might just grab yourself a bargain plot!
So it's very simple if you are interested in owning the plot please post your bid below, ensuring it is higher than any bids before you. Some simple rules on the bidding:

Server Announcements / Don't Update Yet!
« on: 13 Mar 2013, 01:19:57 »Later today Vanilla Minecraft 1.5 is supposed to be released. This does not however mean that Noobstown will also be updated today.
As with all Minecraft updates please do not update if you wish to continuing playing on our server for the time being.
We will post information about doing so once we have updated our server; we have to wait for Bukkit to release a safe and stable version and for our plugins to be updated to run with the latest version.

You can finally purchase Vouchers using the Points shop! This feature allows you to transfer Points to your friends, or to buy gifts for other players! You even get a nice PDF which can be printed out or sent to whoever you purchase the Voucher for!

The site will be going down for a few hours during the morning of the 11th of February to update several systems we currently use on the site. During this time the server uptime shouldn't be affected.
The downtime shouldn't be more than a few hours, beginning from 10am GMT. (What time is it in my timezone?)
