Market Place / Market District Plot Auction

The 4th plot to the left of the Market District entrance on the front row is up for auction (It's labelled with a sign, make sure you know which one it is)! We are aware that the plots on the front row of the district are highly sought after and so we believe that the fairest way to sell off this plot is to offer it up for auction to the highest Noobz bidder; if no one bids then it will be put up for sale like normal plots. You might just grab yourself a bargain plot!

So it's very simple if you are interested in owning the plot please post your bid below, ensuring it is higher than any bids before you. Some simple rules on the bidding:
  • The bid must be in Noobz only.
  • You must have enough money to complete the bid if you win.
  • You must be aware of and agree to the rules of building shops in the Market District.
  • If you already own a Market District plot it must be sold before you can own this one.
  • Bidding ends on the 30th Jan 2013 at 8:00pm GMT. Bids after this time won't be counted.

So bidding begins at: 500 Noobz.

As a few of you may have already noticed the Report User board has gone. You are now able to report players, for breaking the rules, privately between just yourself and the staff team.

This can be done at http://www.noobscraft.com/report/ using the form to the right. This is to replace the old board for reporting users which previously could be viewed by any member. This new system allows you to report players without any other players finding out.

I hope you get used to the new system and find it much more helpful than our old board. If you have any questions regarding it please feel free to reply to this topic or PM me.

Server Announcements / Snowball Event Results!

PLUS PISTONS ARE LIVE!


With Noobmas now over and the Snowball Highscores finished we are going to look back over some of the interesting facts/information about the games over the last month(ish), and also give information about the prize winners!

Information about the overall Highscores and the players/winners of each of the rounds can currently be found at: http://www.noobscraft.com/noobmas/snowball

Some Interesting Statistics
Between the 1st and the 22nd of December:
  • 145 games of Snowball were played.
  • 247 different players joined in.
  • There were a total of 2,274 players in all the games.
  • We gave out a total of 33,384 snowballs to players.
  • Over 12,400 snow blocks were shovelled up during rounds.
  • Exactly 56,670 snowball hits were made.
  • Nearly 8 hours worth of games were played!

Highscore Prize Winners!
As was explained when we first began the game, the overall winners on the Highscores were also going to receive prizes.

In each category we will be giving away a total of 12,000 Points, distributed between 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! Coming to almost 50,000 free Points which will be collectively given out to all the Highscore winners!
The prizes are:
  • 1st = 6,000 Points
  • 2nd = 4,000 Points
  • 3rd = 2,000 Points

We've updated the server to 1.4.2 now! You can update your clients to the latest Minecraft version for now.

Just to let you know we have disabled several features for security, these should be re-enabled once we have complete control over their functions!

Site Announcements / Noobscraft.com Scheduled Downtime

On the 19th of October 2012 from 1am until around 5am BST (Check your timezone), noobscraft.com will be brought down completely for major web-host updates. All features which use the noobscraft.com site will be completely unavailable during this downtime.

Features which will be unavailable during this downtime include:
  • Access to the site itself
  • Site registration/Account activation
    (This includes new members attempting to register)
  • Use of Points
  • Donation options
    (Do not attempt to make a purchase around this downtime as payments may be taken but goods may not be correctly delivered; do it early or wait until we are completely back online)
  • Any contact with us via any @noobscraft.com email
  • Updates to VIP
    (I recommend if your VIP is going to run out during this downtime that you renew it before then)
I would like to make this clear though: Just because the site is down doesn't mean our server will be; this should stay online completely through the site downtime.

This downtime is important as part of a major change which our web-host is making with their data-centres. During the downtime their teams will be moving our site servers from their old data-centre to a brand new state-of-the-art one; this should improve site loading times and improve reliability.

We're changing how site avatars will work!

As part of a progression with the site that you are likely to see later this year, we have decided that it is a good time to initiate a change to your site avatars. The changeover will progress as follows (providing we experience no issues):

  • 30th Aug - All current avatars will be locked and no new ones will be able to be added.
  • 1st Sept - All current avatars will be deleted.
  • 2nd Sept - All users will receive their user (skin) avatar.

This timetable of transition will allow anyone who needs to, to get their avatar from our server before it is deleted. If you are wondering what we are replacing avatars with; look at what has been my avatar for a few weeks now, every user will receive their own Minecraft skin face as their site avatar automatically; you won't have to do anything (providing we have a suitable skin on our records).

This change should be a good improvement for the site, it should make reading posts and seeing who has made a certain post much clearer for everyone. As normal if you have any questions please reply to this topic.

During the transition period you may experience some momentary changes to the site, these should be fixed soon after they occur. If you notice any serious issues please contact me.

Server Announcements / 1.3 Announcement

UPDATE: We have now updated the server to 1.3.

As most of you will be aware the 1.3 version of Minecraft is supposed to be publicly released tomorrow.

As a server we will take time to update to this version of Minecraft. This is because we have to wait for our server software and plugins to be updated, before we can go live using 1.3. As a result of this delay in converting to 1.3 we recommend that ANY player wanting to continue playing our server after the update has been made live, declines any update requests by clicking "Not yet!" until we have announced our server has also been updated.

If you want to play the server you will need to continue using 1.2.5. (Until we announce that we have also updated.)

We will try to keep downtime during the changeover period to a minimum however it is likely that some will occur.
