Today we reached 2,000 forum members! It was just a little more than a month ago that I was saying congratulations on reaching 1,000 ( http://www.noobscraft.com/site-announcements/1000-members!/). As you will probably already know the latest version of Minecraft has been released; 1.1. We will be updating to this version eventually, but as always we need to wait for Bukkit to update their stable release and to update any plugins which may need updating. Until we announce our changeover to 1.1 we suggest that you do not update your Minecraft clients.

We have now added the option to share all topics on the most widely know social networking sites.
In the top right of all topics (next to the topic title in the posts view) there are the social networking buttons.
The buttons include quick access to the Facebook like option and the Tweet button, but if you click the share button there is also access to a huge list of sharing options!
I would like to thank everyone who shares any topics we have and hope you will all do so!

In light of recent events regarding Minecraft accounts I am putting out this notice and warning:
While playing on the Noobstown server; Minecraft accounts are to be used by you (the owner) and you only. Giving accounts to other users for whatever reason is not permitted, using other people's accounts is therefore not allowed also.
We will ban any account that we have reason to believe that it may be in use by any user other than the original owner.
Also if your account is banned in-game for whatever reason and you are not the one who has used the account to perform the banning action; due to fault of your own, the ban may stand. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Minecraft account details; this is not an issue we will deal with.
I would like to also remind everyone that giving anyone your passwords is a very unwise idea; no matter how much you may trust them, you cannot control what they may do on your account.
Issues with "stolen" accounts should be dealt with through Minecraft.net and with Mojang, not us.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year. With 2011 nearly over, we look forward to 2012 and new things. 2011 has been a great year for Noobscraft with many large and eventful things happening! But as we look forward to 2012, we will be improving even more as time goes on! So finally to finish I would like to wish everyone reading this; a Happy New Year and I hope you enjoy taking part in any celebrations you may take part in! We have fixed a few issues which occured to the site during the transistion between servers. Issues fixed include: - Membership
- Donation
- VIP Shop
- VIP
- Christmas Advent Calendar
We are really sorry this happened, and that it lasted as long as it did. I have put in place a new system which will alert you that there is an issue with the server before you reach and serious error pages like users were experiencing this time. Again, the Noobscraft team would like to say sorry for any issues caused, tomorrow's free gift has been improved to say sorry! - ItsLawrence

We have reached over 1,000 site members! Since May and the new site system the member count has been slowly increasing, but recently in the last few days it has shot right up. A few moments ago we reached 1,000 active users at once. We have already passed the user ID 1,000 but finally reached having 1,000 users in the count! The user " coolio" was our thousandth member and so will be rewarded with 200 free Points! But as for everyone else who registered before "coolio" and so are in our first thousand users, you will all receive 10 FREE Points to spend in our online Points shop. The site is back online...finally
I am really sorry for the recent site downtime.
What happened?
A major issue with our site system was found. Our host, as a security measure disabled the features, which then meant large areas around the site didn't work; it was best to be put under maintenance.
We will look into the issues that occured, and I will be taking action and adjusting things, to ensure this is unlikely to happen again.
Again, sorry for any problems the downtime may have caused, but the site is now fully back online.

The links in the main site menu have been updated in preparation of the V5 update to Noobscraft. As part of the changes: - 'Donate' now links to the new donation page (which hasn't been released yet, so you just see the old one)
- 'Shop' has been added in preparation of the new V5 Points System (the shop itself hasn't been released yet, so you just see the donation topic)
- 'Unread' has been now added to the main menu
- 'Guides' has been removed as it was noticed this wasn't used much[/i]
- 'Community' has been re-added
- 'Live Map' has been moved to under 'Community'
- The 'Member List' has been renamed to 'Members'
- 'Members' has been moved to under 'Community'
It is very likely that over the next few days you will see a few more updates to the site as I prepare for the release sometime later this month.

As I explained in a post sometime ago this day was going to come...
From the 30th of October 2011 our system will be being updated as part of the update to the V5 site system. Due to this system update: from late on the 29th of October you will be unable to manually edit your Minecraft IGN on the site, whatever Minecraft username you set from 10pm BST on the 29th will be attached to your forum account permanently.
I therefore am informing you all to ensure that you have got the correct Minecraft account, with correct spelling attached (no spaces either side, etc.) to your site account. It is up to you to check, once the system converts you will not be able to change this name.
I cannot stress enough how important it is that you have your valid Minecraft username as your IGN. The whole V5 experience for you will not work otherwise.
How to set your IGN on the forum
Profile > Modify Profile > Forum Profile > IGN (Simply enter your in-game username in the box next to that) > Save

This post is just to clear a few things up about VIPs and Veterans...
Veterans are NOT always people who have been playing right from the start. They are old VIPs (from before V5). As you may or may not know the VIP system is changing in V5. If you don't know I will post somewhere explaining briefly the changes which are coming into place.
The VIP rank will be used for the 'new class' of VIPs once the V5 Donation system is released.

The live support system is back online, finally after sorting out my hosting issues I have recoded it, and re-enabled it. It is up for a trial run currently, and may be removed at any moment should an issue arise, but anyway until then...

Sorry for the sudden downtime, but there was an urgent update needed for the forum software we were using. Whilst we were down I decided I would install a new mod, which makes the forum urls look a lot nicer (as you should be able to see) I hope you enjoy the little things like this . More updates will be coming very soon!

After being away for a week I am back  ...Anyway, on with information about the new feature I have 'added'... You can now 'Ignore' the Membership Application board. Even I have noticed that it is quite annoying with the number of topics being created for applications, when they have nothing to do with you. I have now enabled a feature allowed you to 'Ignore' any posts made in the Applications board. When it is ignored new posts will not show up using the "unread post" option at the top of the page, this should remove some of it's annoying factor. Anyway to 'Ignore' the Membership Application board simply go: Profile > Modify Profile > Ignore Boards Options > Tick the box next to 'Membership Application' > Click 'Change profile'. This should be a nice feature as I do understand that having to read through every application which isn't anything to do with you is annoying. You can however still do that if you want, by default you will not be ignoring the board . Enjoy, - ItsLawrence

It has come to my attention that a number of forum users (who registered before the 31st May) haven't set themselves an In-game username. This is going to be an issue in the future as features we are planning to add may require the use of your Minecraft username. I am therefore requesting that if you haven't set an In-game username (IGN) please do so now. I am giving you enough advanced warning for you to do this before any future features which require the name are released. If you don't have an in-game name set by that time (I will give you the date much closer to it actually happening) then your forum account may be edited, banned or removed. How to set your IGN on the forumProfile > Modify Profile > Forum Profile > IGN (Simply enter your in-game username in the box next to that) > Save If you already have an IGN set, then you just need to sit back, play Noobstown and relax. As was explained a few days ago in just under 24hours the site will be going down for maintenance no matter what the current state of the server at the time. The site will be down from 22:00 BST until midnight of the same night BST. During this time no content will be accessible.
