Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Points
« on: 1 Jan 2013, 23:28:17 »
Noobz are our free currency. We offer Points as a premium currency above Noobz to allow people who wish to support us in a monetary manor to do so and to receive some sort of thanks for doing so, because we want donating to actually be meaningful for the person who is donating; it is unlikely we will ever offer a way to easily get Points for free.

If you are simply purchasing Points on the site you do not need to be online. However if you are using the Points shop to then you do need to be.

PLUS PISTONS ARE LIVE!

With Noobmas now over and the Snowball Highscores finished we are going to look back over some of the interesting facts/information about the games over the last month(ish), and also give information about the prize winners!

Information about the overall Highscores and the players/winners of each of the rounds can currently be found at: http://www.noobscraft.com/noobmas/snowball

Some Interesting Statistics
Between the 1st and the 22nd of December:
  • 145 games of Snowball were played.
  • 247 different players joined in.
  • There were a total of 2,274 players in all the games.
  • We gave out a total of 33,384 snowballs to players.
  • Over 12,400 snow blocks were shovelled up during rounds.
  • Exactly 56,670 snowball hits were made.
  • Nearly 8 hours worth of games were played!

Highscore Prize Winners!
As was explained when we first began the game, the overall winners on the Highscores were also going to receive prizes.

In each category we will be giving away a total of 12,000 Points, distributed between 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! Coming to almost 50,000 free Points which will be collectively given out to all the Highscore winners!
The prizes are:
  • 1st = 6,000 Points
  • 2nd = 4,000 Points
  • 3rd = 2,000 Points

Here are those who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each of the different Highscore categories and so win a prize:

We would also like to thank everyone who took part in this Noobmas event! The game will be sure to stick around on Noobstown and will be used as one off events in the future!

Those who won prizes will receive them over the next few days.

We disabled the ability to easily receive diamond items from fishing due to exploits abused by certain users. You can however get other useful items from fishing.

When did he attempt to register; we recently edited the username filter to remove a selection of words which were wrongly being flagged up?

If it was recently then I suggest he goes onto the server and asks a moderator/admin in-game for assistance with registration.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Skyblock, Anyone?
« on: 15 Dec 2012, 02:06:59 »
I assume by Skyblock you are referring to where the whole world is defaulted to void space and then you have to manually expand it as you wish to build. If not please feel free to post images or explain what exactly you mean by Skyblock.

The main issue I see arising from a world like this is extreme griefing. If the world building area has to itself be made people are very likely to just take away the space of other players. Plus if the resources are restricted to being only in this "Skyblock" world what would we do about the limited resources? It would be almost on the verge of promoting stealing as so many items would be so rare.

You will have to check if PaymentWall accepts that particular brand of pre-paid card in your location. We don't accept any payment methods other than those listed on the Donation page (this includes PayPal and all of the different PaymentWall options).

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Item frames protect.
« on: 15 Dec 2012, 01:57:42 »
We are looking for a good way to protect item frames and will introduce a system to do so eventually. It may or may not be done using a plugin similar to this; however it is likely that we will use a much more integrated system so that players can protect using current commands/features and so that it works well with our other protection plugins.

Ensuring that item frames remain safe is a major concern for us and this is why we blocked them from the outset. Once we find a good solution that works well in our current situation we will enable them.

If your account was wrongly accessed by another individual you may want to get in contact with Mojang and ask them for any information they may have. We aren't a policing force for protecting Minecraft accounts, that is a job for both yourself and Mojang.

I would suggest you look into improving your password strength as "hacking" isn't likely to have taken place, but more likely cracking or phishing.

Sorry but there isn't much we can do to help you, the security of your Minecraft account is nothing to do with us.

News / Re: Piracy on noobscraft form lol
« on: 12 Dec 2012, 15:16:06 »
This was not piracy at the time it was posted. The site "Megaupload" was a legitimate file uploading site that may have not cracked down on piracy as well as it should have done so, and so it got shut down by the US. If you Google it you'll get a lot of information about it. As for his specific file that was not a pirated item.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Veteran?
« on: 10 Dec 2012, 23:35:44 »
When we originally set up the Veteran rank it was not to reward our long term players it was as a way to ensure that those members who Donated to us before we updated the donation system received a fair reward for what they were originally told they would receive. This happened to match the beginning of V5 as this was when we introduced the automated donations and Points system.

The term "Veteran" was probably not the best term we could have selected, as it seems to be causing some confusion these days. Taking a definition of the term isn't an explanation of how we have used the word. But back when it was introduced (and still) it has nothing to do with how long you have played. Not to say this may or may not change in the future.

Being a Veteran isn't even the top level any more since our latest VIP upgrade Veterans are actually able to upgrade their account to include new VIP features such as the warps, chest/workbench access, increased McMMO, etc.

If you are referring to pre-paid cards/topups such as Ukash or Paysafe cards you can already do this, these methods involve going into a shop and topping up/purchasing a voucher/card and then typing in the code using our PaymentWall options.

On the PaymentWall donation options just look for the icon which looks like this: and it will allow you to find out more information about which pre-paid cards are supported locally to you and from there you should be able to do so. This is also where the cards should be used if you ever purchase them.

We also offer a range of different donation methods as explained in more detail on the Donation page.

But as always please get permission from whoever is paying for these things, we don't want to have to ban players who reverse payments because they didn't get permission to use money from their parents, etc.

We aren't setting a specific schedule for when we will be doing the Snowball events, we are going to try and spread them out across the different days and timezones to try and make it as fair for people across the world to take part. The events will be announced in-game before they begin though.

Using PayPal it will automatically convert the currencies when you click through to purchase them.

As for PaymentWall if you click where it says "GBP" you should be able to select a location specific currency.

« on: 25 Nov 2012, 18:25:34 »
Whilst I can completely understand this must be very frustrating, there isn't actually anything we do in this situation, the specific formatting is how the system works. There are several guides on the site and on signs around the server which explain exactly how to set up shops, and you must have accidentally done it incorrectly.

Whilst morally it isn't really nice to bankrupt you by selling to you at an extremely inflated price, this is a mistake on your part and so the user who did so was doing nothing wrong going by the actual rules.

Moving on from this I would suggest you double check every shop you make in the future, and learn from your mistake. If you are having money issues in regards to keeping your plots/town membership I suggest that you try selling off some of your stuff.

Firstly I'd like you to read up on our information regarding Minecraft Accounts found here: http://www.noobscraft.com/server-announcements/minecraft-accounts/

In this it clearly states:

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Minecraft account details; this is not an issue we will deal with.
Not having access to a Minecraft account is an issue between you and Mojang/Minecraft.net it is not our fault. Your items/stats/other attributes cannot just be transferred over from one username to another.

I would suggest that you contact Mojang and attempt to regain access to your account, or start over.

As for your Points that is a different matter, they can be transferred to another site account, just PM me with the details if you want me to do that.
