In a recent conversation on the server I explained that I would post this: (It is my topic in the staff board about the evil rainbow smiley. I can announce it has now been removed!  Happy days!)I don't mind people installing new smileys (because I am not the owner obviously) but why has whoever installed possibly the most annoying thing on the planet at this current moment?
I am talking about the :tyja: thing? It is something forged by the devil yet was added; WHY? It is really really annoying, plus rather large to be a smiley?
Just wondering to be honest why it was added? I have no objections with it staying (*cough*) but WHY? lol

I agree with coll on that, i like to use glowstone/nethrack for lightting effects, glowstone is difficult to get but its immpossible to get netharrack, the alternative to opening the nether is selling the nether blocks in the shop
You can get glowstone from digging with a high skill level, plus there is the shop as already explained  .

Nothing is new. It was a security upgrade. From SMF 2.0 RC5 to SMF 2.0 . Although the 'Community' tab has changed  .

It's not hard, everyone can do it, even someone untrained.
If you have to purchase bots to do a DDoS (Not a DoS a DDoS) you need to be slightly trained in their use and in reply to your original comment (what the whole of my arguement is based on) that: even a ****** could DDos I disagree that a '******' could find bots to do it, then purchase them and then use them to do whatever you want them to do. They could have (maybe) do a DoS. But as I posted earlier a distributed attack is harder than you think.

I don't want to ruin the theme of the topic, but your quote exactly emphasised my point, there is a difference between a DoS (which you or I could easily do) and a DDoS which is a lot harder. (Due to organisation and often other software to get other 'DoSers' on board). ...
As you can see... It ain't that hard; 5-10 people or external connections are usually enough for a forum.
I don't know if you "own" this forum, but this might have consequences for me, even if you say you would not "engage".
I don't "own" this forum, and I never said I did, Foob 'owns' it (as much as anyone 'owns' it); I just own the hosting. But still... I would suggestion not even attempting it, the server which this forum is hosted on has stupidly strict access protection meaning it blocks users automatically which it thinks are DoSing it, don't moan if you get auto-blocked for doing anything (which I would not advise doing anyway).

That backfired for you slightly , read wikipedia about LOIC... LOIC is an open source network attack application, written in C#. A JavaScript version has also been created enabling a DoS from a web browser. A DoS, not a distributed DoS (DDoS). I agree anyone can DoS, but DDoSing is a lot harder. And on another note, (although I don't want you to try ) I don't know that you would be able to take this forum down on your own, it is on a HUGE server with DDos protection. But as I said please don't try incase you can .

No offense, but even a ****** could DDos
I would like to disagree with you, a DDoS is a distributed denial of service attack, meaning it is spread over many machines, normally by a botnet or something. If a ****** could run a botnet the world is screwed. You can however easily do a DoS attack.

Also, I have experienced that the protection does not work against creeper explosions
Griefers could try to lure a creeper near my house and set it of ? (long stretch, but still)
I guess I would need the noboom addon for that, but its very expensive
Expand your land and fence with obsidian? It's the way forward?

Thats not my issue. The error message is "Connection timed out: connect"
If i use the actual IP, is says "Failed to connect: user not premium" :confused:
I would suggest logging out and then relogging in (close minecraft and reopen) if that doesn't work, reinstall it .
