The annual Easter Egg Hunt on Noobstown is now under way! Over the next few weeks, when you're on the server, a message will randomly appear in chat when an Easter Egg (or other Easter related thing) spawns near you. You then have several minutes to run around and try to find the Easter Egg before it disappears. If you do find it, simply click it and you'll be given the Egg as a collectable head. Be on the look out too, because there might also be other Eggs around at random, even when you don't get the message. This year there are a total of 19 different things to collect (including 17 Eggs). If you manage to get them all, keep hold of them and let me know; there's a bonus special prize too! It's also 2x mcMMO XP from now and throughout the Easter weekend! I hope you all have a great and happy Easter!

Just for anyone else stumbling across this post and having a similar issue. You need to make sure that there is a 3x3x3 of air (no snow, tall grass, etc.) all around the point you're setting it at, and that there is a 3x3 of solid blocks below your feet when you're stood on the ground.

Just a quick post to say that there is now a limited edition trader at /warp spawn allowing you to get the limited edition 2018 Cupid's Bow. The trades use Gems from /gem. Plus all previous years of Cupid's Bows should now work again too!Happy Valentine's everyone!

I have made a COTM for January (snow), and i was just wondering if the winner is picked randomly, or if you actually look at each one and then compare them to see which one is better?
The winners are manually checked and judged individually, that's why it has taken a while sometimes for a winner to be announced. The winner of the January (Snow) will hopefully be announced soon.

The last Chunk of the Month contest for the theme of Spooky is of course now well over, I'm really sorry about the delay in getting the results out. I've been through the entries, once again lots of great entries. The winner for October's Spooky contest is: eboniics. You see see the design at Noobscraft.com/cotm/ and it's in the screenshot below. It's a scary eyeball always watching you, even on the inside. Thank-you to everyone who took part in the contest...participation awards and prizes for the month including those for taking part have finally now been given out.
January 2018's Contest Each month you get the opportunity to submit a chunk you own to be reviewed in our contest, we're looking for creative, interesting and well-designed plots according to a monthly theme! You can find out about the previous winners at Noobs.town/cotm/. How this works: - Each month we'll make a post like this on the site and give a theme for that month.
- You then have the rest of the month to make design and build something in either the Wilderness OR the Town world according to the monthly theme, in a chunk you own.
- You then submit your chunk using /cotm submit while stood in that chunk. Then make a reply to the monthly post outlining your design, explain it a bit if you want to.
- At the end of the month (Early February this time) I will then go around all of the entries and judge which we deem to be the winner. Another post will then be made announcing the winner and all entries/prizes will be handed out.
It's very simple to take part, just use /cotm submit! A few rules: - Your build must be within 1 single Minecraft chunk (16x16), but height doesn't matter. If you're using Minecraft 1.10+ you can use F3+G to view the boundaries in yellow !
- You must own the land you're submitting your entry in, if it's in the Town world you must individually own the plot, and in the Wilderness you must own the land.
- You need to follow the theme.
- You need to actually build something, just submitting a simple few blocks to get the rewards won't count.
- You need to submit your design using /cotm submit before midnight on the last day of the month (UK time)! This deadline is automated so don't miss it.
- You need to leave your build up after the end of the month because we need chance to judge it!
The winner of each month will earn themselves: - A unique winner trophy for that month
- 100,000Nbz
- Your chunk showcased at Noobs.town/cotm/
- Your name forever listed in-game when doing /cotm contests
- 5 FREE Wilderness Chunks This is irrespective of if you built in the Town world!
Plus everyone who takes part will receive a participation prize and a free wilderness chunk (again irrespective of if you built in the Town world). Got any questions? Just ask them below in a reply or in-game! As for the theme for this month; the theme is Snow! That's anything you could relate to Snow, be creative though! You have until the end of January to submit your entry. Since I'm aware there isn't long left this month to get building, the prize (listed above) for entering in January will be doubled, including the rewards for taking part!

I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas from myself and the rest of the Noobstown team! I hope you all enjoy the holiday season, and that you get to spend some time with your family and loved ones doing something you enjoy. To celebrate Christmas it'll be 4x mcMMO from now and all of tomorrow (Christmas Day) plus then back to 2x mcMMO XP all the way through to the New Year! There is also a gift for Day 25! Remember to take any of the Advent gifts you've opened but not collected before the end of the month too! There may have been less changes recently to the server, but I've been working on some big updates to come to the server in 2018! We'll see you in the New Year!

Just a quick post to let you all know that Holiday Crackers for 2017 are now dropping on the server! They'll drop at random as you do things on the server! Once you've got a cracker simply find a friend and whack them with it to begin opening it! If they accept you'll be able to pull the cracker together! At random the winner of the pull wins a prize! They'll be dropping until the end of the month!
It's also 2x mcMMO XP until Christmas Day and beyond! Plus the daily Advent gifts continue.

For those of you who haven't yet been able to find the two bonus trades as part of the Royal Cure Quest, a new trader has been added to give you some clues as to where they are. You can find the Side Quest Guy (who will give you hints as to where the other two are) near the witch's house as part of the existing quest!

Starting from the 1st of December we'll be continuing our annual tradition of the daily rewards and advent countdown to Christmas (25th). This year the gifts are spread around a number of different server towns! Each day a new gift will open in a different town! Every day (until the 25th) at /warp noobmas the name of the town with the gift in it for that day will by revealed; then simply go to that town and find the free gift (it'll be clearly labelled with a floating message above it)! Just click the gift chest to claim the daily reward. Each day the new gift will open at midnight GMT (UK time) with different rewards; hopefully getting better and better as we get closer and closer to Christmas, including an extra special reward for collecting it during Christmas day! You need to make sure you open each box on the day it's related to otherwise you'll miss out though! There's a countdown timer above each box and at spawn so you know how long until the next one will open!As normal the Holiday Cracker drops will begin later in the month too! Keep an eye out for a post about that.

Thanks to cruisinkiy and KilljoyDivine we've got a new Quest for November! It's a story they've both designed called "The Royal Cure". As normal it begins at /warp theme with the Tokens gained through /kit theme. About the QuestIt appears there is definitely something wrong with King Krusty Ham...
If you're up to the task, help find the cure for him, and employ the help with many across the lands! Discover new friends, new places, and have an adventure! I hope you enjoy this, be sure to thank both cruisinkiy and KilljoyDivine for their time and effort in sorting it out!
If this goes well then I'd be open to hearing other Quest ideas from others too! If you can think of a good story-line that you believe could be put into a quest on the server then let me know and we could potentially implement your quest in the future next year!
Just as an update; the Noobween Candy drops have now finished, but the trades will still be available for a few more weeks!

Cross platform access?
As others have explained, the cross-platform version of Minecraft is at the moment a completely different game to the version that Noobstown runs on. We currently have no plans to change to that, unless Mojang makes it easy to do so in the future and it makes sense. As of 1.12.2 we currently run on what is now known as "Minecraft: Java Edition".
