... I remember having the best time of my middle school life playing Noobstown in 2012. It was honestly worth all the time I put into it and all the friends I made. I love each and every person that played with me back then.
At the time, I went by the alias "Bluex12345". Now since I've lost that MC account, I made another.
The new account I made I made with a stupid username and decided to change it to Bluex_.
Now, unfortunately, I can't log into the Noobstown server. I didn't know this would happen, but I guess it's my short-thinking fault. I really want to come back onto the server and see what it's become and become part of the community again. I understand if it can't be helped, but I sincerely thank everyone who helps me with this issue! I hope to see you all soon! -Bluex_ (2016) -Bluex12345 (2012-2014)
Great to see you coming back to Noobstown.com! I'd love to help you get back online. Just to confirm your new account 'Bluex_' is a completely different account? It's not your account 'Bluex12345' which has just been renamed right? The 'Bluex_' account is a rename of 'MemeGravy' right?

Well i was planning on making a big comeback since i'm a serious OG player of this server and haven't been active in what.... 3 maybe 4 years? Well, i can't do this because you don't allow name changes? If anyone remembers me or has ss of anything i did // chat pls reply with them: MY USERNAME WAS ' beth_beth '
Hey there, Welcome back firstly, great to see you've got an interest in playing on Noobstown again ! I'm sorry you were unable to connect to the server, we don't currently support name changing, this is something which is going to be coming to the server in the next few months now though. I take it your new username is 'Bethification' correct? If so would you like me to update your account to use that new name for you so you can come back to playing here again ?

Great thanks to everyone who voted last month. We're very grateful for everyone who voted and remember every single vote gets you 2,500Nbz straight away, plus enters you into this competition. The Top Voters for July 2016 were as follows: They've all won themselves the money prizes plus eboniics has earned the rare head for being the top voter. Those with + amounts next to their name have earned the bonuses for being in the last months in a row too! The base prizes are as follows: Rank 1 - 100,000Nbz Rank 2 - 80,000Nbz Rank 3 - 60,000Nbz Rank 4 - 50,000Nbz Rank 5 - 40,000Nbz Rank 6 - 30,000Nbz Rank 7 - 25,000Nbz Rank 8 - 20,000Nbz Rank 9 - 15,000Nbz Rank 10 - 10,000Nbz If any of those in the top 10 list make it into next month's list too they'll earn a bonus 10,000Nbz on top of the prize for their rank too for each consecutive month they've been in the top 10 for! (So those with +10k this month could get a bonus 20k next month , 20k get 30k, etc., and the rest still +10k if they keep in the top 10!) For more information about this read this post. August's competition already started on the 1st (over 2 weeks ago now) so be sure to take part to try and get into the top 10 for this month! Use /vote in-game or visit Noobscraft.com/pmc! The Top Voters for this month (August) will be announced hopefully in the first full weekend in September!

... I still have the old-school Minecraft account, not a Mojang account (hey, if it works, don't fix it; and it's not like I'm ever going to play Scrolls).
But I was tweaking my skin, and the app I used insists that one use a Mojang account.
So, if I migrate my old Minecraft.net account to a Mojang account, will that prevent me from logging onto the server, as a name change would?
As others have suggested if you migrate your account it won't make a difference to your ability to connect to Noobstown.com. The majority of our players now use a Mojang account to connect. The only difference is in the client you use your email to login rather than your Minecraft account name. Be aware however currently if you change your Minecraft account username you will be blocked from accessing the server though.

Might it be possible to add a personalized message to sent gifts, instead of the default "player sent you a gift!" message?
It would be nice to be able to include a note like "I know you like these" or "your share of the loot" or "in return for all the stuff you lent me" or something that adds context and a bit of fun to the gift.
Perhaps this could take the form of /gift (player) (message) or something similar? And then the message could take the place of the default mail message that gets sent. ...
This is a great idea! I feel stupid for it not being an option initially, it's definitely something we can add. I'll get round to adding this as soon as possible, keeping in mind lots of other things are also to come. If you want to see it worked on sooner you can vote for it at https://www.noobscraft.com/work/full/gift-message/.

Would it be possible to increase local channel range a a bit, I can't see this as being an issue and it would help when communicating in larger areas like towns or mines.
The local channel is currently at a distance of 200 blocks in each direction, that's already much more than the mcMMO party shared XP range and goes well beyond the distance you'd be able to actually see another player. Personally it seems like 200 is quite a fair distance, but do you have an idea for how far you feel it should be?

I'm wondering why /help was changed to a message thatr redirects you to /helpop or the Support page in the website. Seems weird and out of place, since /help is used almost universally to check the player's available commands. There's a few commands that I don't know off the top of my head, so why change it? ...
The /help change was made well over a month ago now, it was changed because the list of plugins which could be used and commands which showed up when using that command didn't really match up with the majority of those which are actually useful for you to attempt. Quite a number of newly connected players would use /help and see an overwhelming list of hundreds of commands where the majority of them can't even be used or have no real purpose, so the decision was made to hide that list and suggest players ask for help since other players and online staff would be able to explain almost all of the available commands. The list was also not completely comprehensive, there were certain commands completely missing such as /shop (which is actually one of the most important commands to learn about). It is likely a cleaner, and more useful help guide will be added to replace the older system in the future, but it's not a high priority right now when there are other very simple ways to get help. If you were looking for a specific command what did you want it to do, if you explain what you were looking for I'll point you in the right direction for the command? We have guides on the site for the majority of useful commands, and if you do /warp tutorial there is a quick and simple new tutorial which outlines the more important ones.
... Also, was the advert command removed?
Yes the advertise command was removed, it isn't really needed anymore since the global channel ( /ch g) shows up for the majority of players now anyway, the advertise feature was a way to send your message to everyone irrespective of world they were in previously, but since merging the world channels it's not as important. We also don't have the continuous chat (because we don't have as many players online most of the time) like before where a message might need to stand out for you to notice it, so just discussing your project (whatever you were going to use the old advertise command for) in the global channel should pretty much have the same effect but now for free.
If you've got any feedback after hearing my reasoning on either of these changes or you disagree with my choice, I'd love to hear why.

As per the work item here; we've now introduced a command to check when the server has double (or more) mcMMO XP going on! Just use /xpcheck when in-game now; no need to reconnect to check it! As part of this I've also introduced a message which will appear roughly every 10 minutes while 2x (or more ) mcMMO is going on to let you know and make sure even if you connected after it started you still don't miss out! It's only a small change but I hope you enjoy this, it's something that was requested quite some time ago and it's finally here!
As for the rest of the Summer updates they will be still coming over the next month or so, things have been delayed slightly because of the admin changes coming soon, but they hopefully will all still be here this Summer!

My chunks claimed in the wild are surrounded by a ton of claimed but unused chunks and im pretty sure they have been inactive for over 3 months can someone help and unclaim them all so i can expand?
Hey, If you do /ticket while stood in the area you need clearing and include the inactive player's name in the ticket then I'll get around to clearing it for you when I get chance. A player needs to have been gone for at least 3 months before we'll consider clearing their land. If you see me in-game before making the tickets just let me know and I'll do it for you there and then if I'm available .

Everyone can now set up to 5 more homes than before! Those with the original amount can now set up to 8 homes (yes, everyone can set 8 now!), VIPs can set 10 and those with the extra purchase can set 20! Use /sethome [name] to set a home in your current spot, and then use /home [name] to quickly get to it! This is on top of the unlimited number possible through /wild home [number]. I hope you all enjoy this, and make good use of the new spots possible to set.

You can finally transfer in your Snowball Winners Tokens in for a range of different items available at /warp snowball. There are dozens of possible items to trade in for, most of them are collectable variants of common items but there are also a few exclusives. You can play a game of Snowball with others using /snowball join. The prices/availability of certain items may be adjusted as it becomes clear if they're not suitable though. I hope you like some of the items on offer, they're not all special but it will give you at least some reward for winning. If you've got any feedback about the options available or you'd like to see something specific just suggest it below.

I suggested in game, but I'll add here for the record. I'd like to see lapis added. Also someone else suggested the addition of the various kinds of fish. Also, a "sell all" button to immediately sell all sellable items in your inventory would be very nice...
Lapis Lazuli can now be sold under the 'Rares/Ores' category. And you can now sell all types of raw fish and select specific ones too if you want to. The sell literally everything possible option is a nice idea and something I'll definitely consider working on in the future.
...Perhaps Prismarine Shard and Prismarine Crystal to be added to the shop in some form?...
Added Prismarine Shards and Crystals to the 'Misc' section.
Wool is also now able to be specifically picked.
If anyone else has any feedback for other items they think are common and they would like to be able to sell please just suggest them.

... In /shop, all stones get sold through "Any Stone". That includes andesite, granite and diorite. But, what if you go mining and you do NOT want e.g. granite and diorite, but you want andesite to use as decor? To then sell off the granite and diorite, you then must keep the andesite out from your inventory when you sell to the "all stones", which is a bit of a hassle. So, why not do it like this: In the previous iteration of shop, there was also a form of "any stone" in there. But, there you had to right-click, and then sell the stones off from there, selling one kind of stone at a time. What we can do in the current version of /shop, is to add a new "any stone", where you can choose which stones you want to sell. Right-click the "any stone" in how much you want to sell, then another tab opens up where there would be 7 categories: Stone, diorite, andesite, granite, and then the polished version of andesite, diorite and granite as a tab each. Another example where this can be a problem (not as big though) is "any Wood log" and "any new Wood log". Same thing can be added as 2 new tabs, with every log in that category that is listed. ...
Great idea, I've now changed how the /shop works for Stone and Logs, it will now open another menu which will allow you to again just sell all generally or to specifically pick which type you want: I hope this is what you wanted, if not I'd appreciate any other feedback .

I have a question... Im not sure if anyone else is going to ask. So I guess I will. Are you going to be moving anyone up the ranks to "admin"? I ask this in regards to the server being as big as it is, Just wondering if you would be able to handle it all by your self. Im sure there are plenty of Noobs that would help you out. Im one of them. So please keep us in mind if you need anything. We Noobs will do what we can to give you full support.
At the moment I have no plans to introduce any further Admins, the admin rank currently is those who are able to manage and directly edit all aspects of the game, this isn't something we need lots of people to have. We introduced the 'Content' rank a few months ago and they're able create the quests and run events, and it's likely they and the rest of the staff will get more abilities over time so they can assist me also. I have already been running 'admin things' for many months myself now already so it shouldn't be much more work for myself really.

If you haven't read it already it's important you read the post made by Foob a few days ago where he made an announcement that he would be stepping down from his long term role as a server Administrator and the project lead for Noobstown.com within the next few months. This post is just some information about the future of Noobstown moving forward. I want to begin by personally thanking him for the many years of enjoyment and fun he has provided to thousands of people including myself, and for giving me the opportunity to help out all those years ago and to now keep the community going forward. Firstly I want to reiterate very clearly: this is not the closure of the server, all of the aspects of the server which used to be controlled by Foob will simply be moved over to me, and we will continue on as before. There will likely be a few changes to things, both in the short term and longer term; but they will not be major and I will definitely consult you all as players before we do anything large/game-changing. I have already been the main contributor to changes and have been managing many of the aspects of the server myself for several months anyway so that is just going to continue. I speak to a number of the active players on a daily basis and really hope I can make Noobstown even more of a community moving forward. As for a few planned changes and things which were in the works I do need to make a few aspects of the future of Noobstown clear though, I know a few questions have been asked so these should answer some of the larger ones: - The Summer updates will continue on as before, there are more coming later this month (July) and further ones in August. Some of the in-game changes such as the head shop and Snowball rewards might take slightly longer, but they will still be coming this Summer!
- All of the planned changes listed at Noobscraft.com/work/ will still go ahead as I get the time to implement those changes/develop those features.
- The planned Noobstown Dungeons project (the MineApoc merge) will be put on hold for now, this was a project being introduced by Foob primarily and without him it is likely to take much much longer than the many months planned anyway and as such for now we won't be implementing it as planned. That's not to say the features won't come in the future, but for now it is on hold. The ability to get VIP/VIP+ for free if you had it on MineApoc is also on hold because of this.
- Any Donations made between now and when the server is passed over to me are still welcomed as a gift to Foob for his hard work, and will continue to provide the benefits in-game and on the site as normal, but since the longer term funding of the server is going to be from myself you should be aware at the moment they are unlikely to be directly assisting the longevity of the server. The plans for any changes to the perk purchasing system once Foob has passed over to me will be announced later.
There is likely to be an amount of downtime as we move over from the hardware Foob is currently using to some that I will pay for, any downtime will be planned and announced with estimated dates/times beforehand though. If you have any questions at all about the future of Noobstown, me taking over things, Foob's goodbye or anything of the sort please do ask it, I'll respond to any questions asked if you've got any. - ItsLawrence

We've now introduced a change to /shop so it works like the old system we used to use, you now just need to click on the item and it will sell the amount according to what you click on, including the option to sell all of the selected item. As part of this change we've also merged together the old VIP Shop and existing /shop, so everyone should now use that command; when selling it will now sell for the price according to your rank, VIP+ will get the increased price and then everyone else gets the other ('Normal') price. Just 1 shop, with different prices. As part of this change we've also increased the price of a few items in the shop, and will be reviewing the other prices and adding new items also in the future possibly. If you have any feedback or questions regarding this please put them forward .

Just a quick post to let you know it will be double mcMMO XP for all of the 12th and 13th of July (UK time)! I hope you enjoy this, it's just an extra thank-you for playing . We'll be posting more information about more Summer events and the rest of the Summer updates over the next few days/weeks too .

Just saying I cant take part in any of these as they are all whilst I sleep is there any possible way that a new one can be added during uk times 2pm-5pm?
These are just the first batch of a number of events we'll be hosting over the Summer, we'll try to mix up the times on occasion, it's really dictated by when we actually are likely to have enough staff and players on though and sadly those times you listed tend to be some of the more quiet ones, but we might be able to do it on a weekend at those times. Keep an eye out for more posts about other Summer events .
Anything going to happen during the weekend?
None of the events listed in the above post are at the weekend (depending on timezones ), but that's not to say we might not do something or possibly have some double mcMMO XP.

just wondering does 12 mid mean midnight or midday?
If you click on the times it will take you to a site so you can see the times listed in your timezone. It is midnight most likely though.
... Larry, does boat racing mean what I think?
I'm not certain what you're thinking, but most likely no, these events have been organised and are being ran by Hexi not me.

... First....are pets a thing again, or still disabled?
Second....you can ride a pet, but can you steer it, like a pig and carrot and stick and/or horse?
Third.....if I dye a pet sheep, will the color stay put after dismissing and recalling the pet? ...
- Pets are still a thing, use the /pet command.
- You can ride and control most pets (just by walking as though you're walking normally), some pets cannot be ridden/controlled though.
- You cannot dye the sheep, it will just turn back to being white.
Hopefully those answer your questions, if you've got anymore please just ask them.

You can now connect to Noobstown.com using 1.9 and 1.10 clients! This is not our complete update to 1.10 which will be coming in the future but at least you can now connect using that version in your client and can make the most of the client side features possible in 1.9 and 1.10. Any 1.9 and 1.10 features which we don't support should just not work on the server for example the new blocks and mobs do not exist yet. Everything will continue to work just as it did in 1.8 for now until we update our features to fully support 1.10 and beyond, another post will be made once this is the case. As this isn't a complete update it is somewhat of a work-around to allow everyone to connect, there are possibly going to be some issues, if you notice any problems no matter how small please immediately report them. You can read about the update to 1.10 here: https://mojang.com/2016/06/minecraft-110-an-update-of-fire-and-ice/, and 1.9 here: https://mojang.com/2016/02/minecraft-19-combat-update/, remembering we'll only support the new client based (things like graphical changes, and new F3 options, etc.) features for now. I really hope you like this small change though, feel free to update to 1.10 now .
