What if I change my username from "nebih" to "Nebih"?? Will that screw all my stuff up and not let me online? :c
Sadly yes this is included (the data is case-sensitive), you can however wait to change your name because eventually we do plan to allow those with changed names to connect, and no one else will be able to register with the uppercase one as your lowercase version already exists.

You can now sell Cocoa Beans using the /shop command under the farming menu. Sorry for the delay in adding these, thanks for the suggestion.

You can now sell spider eyes in the /shop just like most of the other drops from mobs. Thanks for the suggestion!

As many of you are likely to be aware; after Minecraft 1.8 Mojang has plans to allow users to change their Minecraft username using their Mojang account. They have introduced methods for us to check who a specific user is (uniquely, regardless of their name) and have allowed for default Minecraft server features (such as the ban lists, etc.) to work according to this new unique identifier. We use a large number of plugins on our servers which provide extra functionality such as Towny and McMMO, etc. Most of these plugins store data about you by attaching your information to your username, this won't be possible in the future as you will have the ability to change your name. Whilst we are taking steps to ensure all our custom plugins are updated to this new system, we cannot be certain that some of those we don't make are. Bukkit and Mojang have urged developers to move to this new system however development takes time and we don't know if the changes needed will be implemented before Mojang allows the username changing options. As we can't be certain of the date of this change we have introduced a system which will block all users who have changed/are using a changed name. This change is hopefully only temporary but is necessary to ensure the safety of your in-game items/experience and the server as a whole. It is however likely we will continue to use this for the foreseeable future, if you have no plans to change your name then you will be completely unaffected by this change. As part of this update you will be unable to access any of the CloudSquid servers if: - You change your username to something different to one you've already used on our servers.
- You use a username which has already been used by another user of our servers.
Just to make that clear: if you decide to change your username you will be unable to access the server for the foreseeable future. The changes by Mojang to allow username changing has not yet been released and as such this information is all subject to change, we are adding this feature as a precaution and letting you know early so you don't rush to change your name. The most up-to-date information about username changing from Mojang seems to be the bottom of the help topic found here: https://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/articles/928638-minecraft-usernamesIf you have any questions regarding this change (both the change to Minecraft and our change) please feel free to reply to this topic.

quick question, how are the ties broken? Is it just a random draw between the top voters. Since on any given month you can only vote 30/31 times (feb is the exception) I presume that if 10 people have voted the max amount their names are just randomly drawn.
If people are tied then we randomise those people who are on the same amount. So for example if you have 1 person on 30 they will be top and then 3 people on 29 we'd randomise the 3 people on 29 to get positions 2, 3 and 4; but would keep the person who was top in the first place.

I meant more like announcing the number of votes only at the end of the month, together with announcing the numbers. That way you won't have the risk of people giving up halfway through the month because they can't win, but I'm just curious at the end of the month when I see a winner's list like this just how much they've actually voted.
... You should show us how many times that they voted afterwards. So we can see how many times we or they voted, it would help to see on average how many times someone voted on average. This could add to the point where people will vote more to beat the a high score or a player's previous voting record. I would like to see the results of who voted more, not how much they have now. Thanks!
As I explained in my previous reply knowing how many votes it takes to win might encourage you to stop voting once you reach that number as you can be reasonably sure that you are in the top 10. Similarly if you know you need X amount and for whatever reason you miss a few days you might be less likely to vote as you might think you won't win (looking at the numbers from previous months), when that might not be true. We won't be publishing numbers because of this, if you know how many it takes to win you might be less inclined to vote. Just try and vote as often as you can and take the monthly rewards as a bonus prize, you can get 2500Nbz per vote anyway, which over a month can add up to a lot of money.

Twice now I've encountered Mobs on the Mining World platform. They were easily dispatched as they were on the opposite side of the platform, but I thought that the platform was a mob free zone on the Mining World.
Has that changed?
This should now be fixed, sorry for the problem.

Apologies for this, I've put them all into the Nether category too, if you notice any more issues like this please feel free to bring them up.

Sorry for the delayed response:
This is an error with Buycraft (the system we now use for donations) we have contacted them regarding this problem and they are looking into fixing it. We can't really do anything about this for now, so I'd use the workaround you seem to have found if it works for you at this time. If the situation changes then I'll be sure to inform you.

wow awesome! Thanks lawrence! and congrats to everyone else as well!
Yes! 8 more plots for my town xD Thanks admins
Thank-you for voting, it's extremely helpful for the server which is why we like to give out prizes for it!
If I may suggest, could it be possible to add to this how many times these people have voted?
As slightly explained by AlbatrosX5 if you don't know how many votes people have been making/are making then you're more likely to vote to keep up with a chance of winning! As he explained it might get to a point where people would decide they've already won/are clearly going to win and may therefore stop voting; this isn't very beneficial to us. You should be voting to support to the server (and gain a chance to win a good prize) but the prize should just be a sideline. We therefore won't be announcing voting numbers any time soon.

You can now access the Game Statistics on the site again at http://www.noobscraft.com/gamestats/This time they are split into categories to allow for easy viewing and also we're working on seriously increasing the stats we show. At the moment only some basic ones such as McMMO and Money are listed however in the future we will be having statistics for all sorts of things! The listings will also show how a user's/town's ranking changes over time eventually! I hope you enjoy this and look forward to the future updates.

In this version we have dynamic mob spawning which means that animals and aggressive mobs constantly respawn; this removes the need for spawners (which were only ever introduced as a way to get new passive mobs back into the world).
Can I ask why you prefer spawners over the current system? I'm aware it's a lot less work to get the animals, but is that the only reason why?

The system is designed so that your friends know when you remove them; making a friendship using the wilderness system is not something that should be done lightly. After 3 months of inactivity they will automatically be removed from your friends list, however if you PM me their name(s) I'll manually remove them for you now.

As with all our updates we will be waiting until a stable compatable version of our server software is released and any appropriate plugins. From then we have no plans to delay a release for no reason? If you are referring to the name changing causing major problems we already have plans for how this will work and will be posting information about this soon.
Sorry it probably wasn't the detailed answer you were looking for but we can't control the server software releasing schedule. If I get anymore information from then, then I'll be sure to inform you. And as explained we will be posting important information about name changing soon, so look out for that.

And a question for the admins, should we be worried about our noobscraft account ?
This is not something you really need to be worried about in regards to your Noobscraft account, no; but it's never a bad idea to change your passwords if you want to anyway. You can do so by visiting your account settings page. Quite a nice, extremely simplified video explaining the bug can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE5dW3BTpn4#wsWe don't offer SSL for any of the public areas of our site because the content which we show can be posted by all our users and content can be embedded directly from external sources (many of which themselves aren't using SSL too) and as such we would cause browser flags if we were to do so. You can still check if we have any issues regarding the Heartbleed bug though by visiting: http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/#noobscraft.com if you want to. In regards to donations these too should be fine as we use PayPal for our payment system, you can find a post they made regarding Heartbleed here: https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/PayPal-Forward/OpenSSL-Heartbleed-Bug-PayPal-Account-Holders-are-Secure/ba-p/797568. If you have any further concerns regarding the security of the site/your account you can PM me or email me at [email protected].

So is Not being able to chat, is part of the problem? Also Can i still build things in the wild chunks cuz it says im not allowed in that area.
This sounds like a permissions issue, it is likely that you just need to reconnect/the next time you connect it should be sorted.

Latest update: We're aware that you will be currently unable to connect to the server. This is being caused by what we believe to be an uxexpected Mojang change. As we find out more we will keep you updated.
I have updated the original post accordingly.

... I think larry told me that players shouldn't have white horses, and that we can't buy it.
I really want to buy a black and a white horse.
This isn't what I said, I said that the only way to purchase them was through Tokens and as it hadn't yet been added you couldn't buy them. This has now changed and the ability to buy them as been added to the Token Shop, it's at the bottom of the list right now.

it says that the white horse is bought by tokens, however its not in the shop. could someone tell me where I could buy it ?
You should now be able to purchase the ability to buy the White Horse on the Token Shop, it's at the bottom right now.

While we really appreciate that you seem to like the way we run things and are making suggestions to us we really have no plans at this time to venture away from Vanilla Minecraft servers at this time. We don't like the limited access that using a modded version of Minecraft means for players who aren't really sure how to use/install mods (what you think is really easy to do might be extremely confusing to some).
When using features such as those offered by Feed the Beast you are really in the control of the mod creators and as has been seen with many of those similar packages issues result in compatabilty issues and lack of continued development support; that causes problems like resets and crashes which are things we really want to avoid in a public server environment. As a result of the way modding is currently done it is likely to always be slightly unstable.
Once Minecraft's official plugin API is out this may change as the use/control of changes to clients will be much easier to add and control, but at this time we aren't going to spread into modded client servers.

Spiders don't spawn in the nether so this isn't something that can ever occur on Noobstown, but I don't see why it shouldn't be possible, any mob can ride virtually any other mob. Pretty scary though.
