You can build your own "trash bin" if you want to, using a chest and some redstone/dispenser you can easily make items put into a chest disappear into lava/cactus etc.

As explained by other users this idea isn't really something we're planning to do. With stock markets in real life the value of stocks changes depending on money made and stock is only worth money because it can lead to profits being given to the owners of stock; on our server though we don't have businesses like in real life. The price of stock then changes according to the supply and demand of them. What would people be buying stock for? Would would determine the value of stock? How much stock would there be? What would cause changes in stock pricing?
If you can come up with a good idea regarding those questions then it would be possible to do, just because we don't currently have anything which can really be "invested" in; we can't really have stock.

We're trying to provide a reasonabilty vanilla experience, the cap on using anvils is part of this. We won't be changing that. There are other ways to repair items and the cap is currently designed to prevent you from repairing things which are extremely powerful using the anvils.

Um, I'm rather concerned about the "semi-permanent world resets" in the title there. Does that mean the worlds aren't going to get reset monthly anymore? ...
The worlds will continue to be reset like before, the term was used because the worlds themselves are permanent (eg there is always a mining world) but the actual blocks etc. will be reset.

Seems magic forgot to add the port number
You don't need the port to connect, just using "voice.noobstown.com" works now.

As explained previously by other users beacons are disabled because their effects are able to extend beyond your land and possibly into other people's; as a result of this we have taking the most reasonable step which is to prevent their use in the wilderness completely. This prevents arguments between individuals living near each other and as it is equal to all users it doesn't give any select individuals an advantage over others. So simply put for now we won't be allowing beacons in the wilderness however if Bukkit ever offers a sensible way to reduce/limit the reach of a beacon we may look into changing this. ... A Beacon got a max reach of 50 blocks...
You need to be aware that the border around land is 32 blocks (2 chunks) so even with this the highest tiers of beacon would extend beyond the border; and possibly into other people's land. ... Somewhat Duel, it's hardly "Free" with the prices on the chunks, v5 was free....
When Duel previously mentioned that land was "free" he was referring to the fact that anyone is entitled to buy any unowned land anywhere in the world and not that land pricing was 0. Referring to the "freedom" to purchase anywhere. If people buy land which is next to yours they are allowed to do so, you don't own it until you own it; if you feel this isn't fair please post a new suggestion topic explaining what different methods we could use for this and we'll be happy to review them. ... If someone moves close by to people and then complain that they are getting buffs for free how is that our problem? They did decide to move close to someone which they are entitled to but we should be entitled to beacons if we can make them....
If you think about this from a different angle though a user could move into land and then you could place a beacon with an effect they don't want and they then can't do anything about it? Or if you move in next to them and place a beacon again they'd have no way to prevent it? ... BUT SURE GO AHEAD< register your stupid cobble hut 4 chunks away from me, complain about the beam ... and then never come back to play again. Super excited about that.
If people are inactive for long enough their land will be completely sold off and reverted back to wilderness thus freeing it up for you or others. We specifically designed the land ownership system to ensure that continuously inactive users don't keep their land. Perhaps an addition of a wild beacon with a reduced radius would be a happy compromise?
We may actually look into this for the future allowing a custom effect radius given from a beacon, it would be a good compromise and would be allowed to work with the existing land ownership system. Thanks for the suggestion. If you wish to open another more friendly discussion about the beacons please do so, but it needs to stay on topic about beacons and not about land ownership (that needs to be a separate topic). Topic locked.

If you put in the ingredients first then this is likely to occur yes. As you put in each bottle it is going to take one of the ingredients to brew it in the newly added bottle; even if you put them all in very quickly it's still going to do this because as it notices an empty bottle it's going to try and brew with it.

VIP armour now has the same perks as the Veteran armour. You can now wear either and you will get the same effects.
I'm going to lock this topic to prevent further arguing about VIP perks, if you wish to create another friendly discussion about that please feel free to do so in a new topic.

We do have plans to update quite a few auction things, such as the giving of information about wins to the winners and those who sell the items. This information about a specific item is also something we'd like to do, it would allow for people to follow standard pricing set by players.
It will be added in the near future, for now you'll have to look for an existing auction and check for pricing on those, if there aren't any ask in-game; many people are wise to the good pricing of most items.
To clarify this is something we will be doing.

I have now reviewed a number of areas of the site and have tweaked some things, if you continue to experience this issue though please say. We are aware that certain features of the site may be slower than normal, the sudden increased load since the release of V6 is being dealt with accordingly.

What are the actual functions of those lines? Tryna gauge how much to save up
They aren't publicly released, you can roughly work it out though if you want to. You can only find out when you come to buying that chunk unless someone wants to calculate it and post that information.

Just a quick update regarding land pricing in the wilderness world: Some of you may have noticed that since the downtime the pricing of wilderness chunks has been greatly reduced. We listened to your feedback regarding this and have acted accordingly. From now on the price increase is much more gradual and is capped off at 2,000,000Nbz. If you have any comments to make regarding this change please feel free to make them. We will continue to monitor this new pricing and may make new changes again. Below is a graph comparing the original pricing to the new pricing: No previous purchases will be refunded. Only newly purchased chunks will follow this pricing.

The server shop is not there for everyone to offload everything they collect and make money from it, it's meant for money to be introduced into the economy from specific work. If you don't want to collect the specific blocks that can be sold then you'll have to find a different route to make money. All of the items you have mentioned can be stored away for future use, sold to other players, or even given away if you really don't need them. I'll explain exactly why some of the mentioned items won't be in the shop any time soon: - Coal: This can be mined extremely easily and with a fortune pickaxe you can receive many from a single ore. It is also a vital item in the starting of a game as smelting normally begins by using this. You shouldn't ever need to sell it, put it into furnaces and use it up.
- Redstone: This again is not a "junk" material, it's key for anything redstone related and fortune yields large amounts of it.
- Sugarcane: This is extremely easy to automate and for that reason it won't ever be sellable to the server.
- Records: At this current point in the server there are many people who won't have any or only very few of the records, sell them to players directly. I understand they can quickly collect up but again you can sell whatever you excavated as well so you are already making money from that work.
- Cocoa beans: These again aren't a "junk" item, they are easily farmable too.
- Logs: Wood is such a key item in the game it is required for such a number of crafting recipes that someone out there will be willing to buy or receive it. It is also extremely easy to farm.
- Flowers: These are easily farmable and are extremely easy to collect. Again they can also be used for other useful tasks. You may consider them "junk" but many others won't.
- Saplings: For the same reasons as wood, they are far too easy to farm.
- Seeds: The same reason as saplings, and again they can be extremely useful for a select number of people.
- Planks: Same reason as wood.
- Smooth stone: See my reply to this topic: http://www.noobscraft.com/suggestions-ideas/shop-ability-to-sell-stone/msg75918/#msg75918
- Food: There is currently a bug in Minecraft which means that people randomly lose hunger much much faster than they are meant to, this is why we introduced /kit food. We aren't going to take away a vital resource from the server at this time when many users are in need of these items.
The server shop is not meant to be everyone's primary source of income (it was introduced as a way to remove "junk" items from the game) if you want to make money from other things you can do so by selling them to other players, or simply hold on to them until a later date. We are currently at a point in the start of the server where all players are starting out with collecting a range of items, it won't always be like this though as people will begin to specialise in specific things and may eventually require mass amounts of one of the items you previously mentioned. If no one is willing to buy them right now, put them away in storage somewhere. In V6 we are trying to make it a player ran economy where almost everything is traded between users; not one where everything can be done through the server shop. My final suggestion would be if you aren't going to make money from doing something and you are just trying to make money, then don't do the activity which isn't going to yield money.

Your chunks must be next to each other, you need to make sure that the borders are touching, use '/wild chunk highlight' to do this. If your chunks are next to each other then the price is no where near 1 million. If you are in-game and I see you I'll try and help you with this.

The site is now back after a series of unexpected issues which resulted in the site going down for a number of hours. We are sorry for any issues caused by this downtime and are taking further steps to prevent issues such as this from occurring again. The downtime was caused by a technical fault with the way our site server interacted with the server, this has now been resolved.
Any user naming issues you may have noticed before the downtime have also now been fixed. We are sorry for any problems this may have caused too.
If you have any queries regarding this downtime please feel free to PM me or reply to this topic.
