My skin on the site has always looked like this (grey steve), except when i visit the V6 tokens tab. When i tab there my skin shows fine. Even if i change my skin it still looks like grey steve, except like i said when i visit the v6 tokens tab.
Anyone know why this is? ...
I have fixed this problem for you now, it was an issue with how your username was stored in our system. Your skin should now be correct, although these changes may take up to 24 hours from now to become visible.

When we haven't yet fetched or cannot fetch a player's skin then we set it to be: on the site. (It is a greyscale version of Steve with a question-mark on his chest.)

I don't believe that dukeboxes have any form of on/off features in regards to redstone, the only thing I believe you can do is check what disk is in it by using a comparator as an output from it. I may be wrong though, but never seen one if it can be done; thus if you manage to get one working please show me I'd love to see it.

They aren't all usernames of Noobstown players, just the first few. I assume that someone has simply gone into our members list (which is freely accessable here: http://www.noobscraft.com/mlist/ when logged in) and copied down a number of users, or it might be that the player was simply collecting names of those who connected to Noobstown on a specific day and those are just the users who did so, thus explaining why you are not there. Whatever the reason it is unlikely we will find out why you aren't there Jayjay or why you are 58th Fire , but it isn't something you should be particularly worried about, there are hundreds of ways for a list of Minecraft usernames to be generated. I'm more interested in how you came across this list to be honest.

The words that are blocked are words which the admin team considers to be "offensive" or "rude" in the UK and those areas where most of our players reside. Words such as 'hell' are really not considered to be particularly offensive within the UK thus they currently aren't blocked; there are uses of the word 'hell' which can be completely unrelated to any offensive meaning it may have. If however an overwhelming majority of people disagree with this then we would look into adjusting these words with the filter.
However the word which this topic is referring to has no need to be mentioned in normal conversation, as already explained by other users if you want to say something referring to annoyance say "oh no!" or one of the many other alternatives.

We have received confirmation that an eCheck from you is being processed, however as Duelcon explained you won't receive the purchase until it is completely cleared; as advised to do so by PayPal.

The first plot to the left of the Market District entrance on the front row is up for auction (It's labelled with a sign, make sure you know which one it is)! We are aware that the plots on the front row of the district are highly sought after and so we believe that the fairest way to sell off this plot is to offer it up for auction to the highest Noobz bidder; if no one bids then it will be put up for sale like normal plots. You might just grab yourself a bargain plot!So it's very simple if you are interested in owning the plot please post your bid below, ensuring it is higher than any bids before you. Some simple rules on the bidding: - The bid must be in Noobz only.
- You must have enough money to complete the bid if you win.
- You must be aware of and agree to the rules of building shops in the Market District.
- If you already own a Market District plot it must be sold before you can own this one.
- Bidding ends on the 30th March 2013 at 8:00pm GMT. Bids after this time won't be counted.
So bidding begins at: 500 Noobz.

... I agree, and upset that some who just start can get veteran just being active just a couple of days. There are people who work hard to build up money and stuff but have other responsibilities and they wont get rewarded.. just another kick in the teeth...
You should look a the history of the server and see who put the most into to it and who made towns and help the communities..
You say that we will be rewarding players who may have been active for just a couple of days; but remember that this system is going to be in place right up until we release V6. I'm going to bore people with some statistical information now to hopefully back up my point; so if you don't find it intresting skip this paragraph . If we look at the person who is at the very bottom of the list and focus on just their time online I can tell you that at this point in time they have spent just under 3.5 hours on Noobstown since we released the system 3-ish days ago. If we then assume that this system will be in place for as an example 60 days we can calculate that if they follow the trend then they would have spent an average of 70 entire hours in-game just to be in position 100; nearly 3 solid days constantly online. If we then take an average user from the list a player who is still higher than the overall average of activity for all players position 50; they have spent just over 7 hours online since we released the system; if that is then spread between the 3-ish days we can see that each day they would on average spent around 2.4 hours online. If we then look at this from the prospective of a new player; even if they matched the the average time spent online it would take them almost a month (29.2 days) to catch up to being even just position 100. Those statistics should hopefully back up the fact that providing you actively participate on the server and continue your current trends then the majority of those involved; who end up receiving the Veteran rank won't just be users who "have been active just a couple of days" and will infact be our dedicated users who deserve the title. The fact that system will be in place right up until we release should remove out and abnormally active new users and should reward our current players who actively participate on the server. If you refer back to the post before yours made by Fatnoob it clearly states that other opportunities to gain the Veteran title may be offered. If there are certain individuals who we believe should definitely receive the title for their contribution to the server but for whatever reason they aren't listed in the 100 player list then we may still give it to them. It is a scheme to reward those players who actively participate in the server activity not to penalise those who aren't active.

This cannot be done, the statistics/information is connected to an individual Minecraft account and not a person. You can of course transfer over protections, money and items manually yourself though.

I'll clear this up; you are both correct. You're both right! Miner_man is looking at the Forum Stats and sombrerodude is looking at the Game Stats. According to the numbers on the Game Stats, it will be about 15.6 days until 30000.
You are correct in that the server system has around 29,400 members (according to the game statistics page) this is true. It is also true that we have over 30,000 members too though . The information on the Game Statistics page does not include those members who registered before we added in the automated membership system and then didn't become a member afterwards. Whereas the information on the homepage and the Site stats does include these as members. Thus the two figures are different.

I seriously hate the "Be active to earn Tokens" ... it just doesn't work for me, in any way.
If the top 10 most active on the server is gone get a bunch of buff's at the start of the V6, I just lost all faith in the new version, and I will tell simply my opinion on the whole "Be active to earn yourself stuff" idea...
1: People got stuff to do outside of Minecraft, and people also are less wanting to play now cause they know it will pointless, as all their stuff will be gone anyways.
2: By giving a buff to the top 10 active players, once V6 starts, is like giving a million to someone who is already a millionaire, cause they are a lot on the server, they got more time using their V6 starting buff, which makes them get far ahead of everyone else, as they got the buff, and they are also more active, you see what I mean?
3: People can easily AFK their way to the top, it is ways to cheat the "AFK kick system" I am sure, and many probably know how to.
That is really all my points, being given lots of tokens cause you are on the server a lot, cause you don't have anything important to attend to, like school, work etc.. is it really no other way to make this system work in a more fair way..?
I seriously hope so..
Firstly I'd like to add that those users who receive and collect Tokens won't be given a "bunch of buffs" as you put it; the Tokens are there to give players a helping hand with items such as tools and blocks when the server is first released. Once we are aware how many total Tokens have been awarded we can set a fair exchange rate between them and the items you can gain. - We are completely aware that people don't want to constantly spend their time on Noobstown and this is why we are offering a range of ways to actually "earn" Tokens: every week between now and the release of V6 the 10 most active players from that week will receive a prize, yes; but we are also going to offer the option to earn these Tokens through events and competitions between now and the release!
- The system is designed to reward activity on the server and ensure that these last few months aren't played in vain. As I already explained above the actual rewards (items/blocks which will be redeemable in V6) will be fairly priced once we are aware of how many actual Tokens have been collected by everyone. The Tokens are fairly allocated to all who are most active and so between now and the release everyone on Noobstown has an equal chance to earn the same number of Tokens as any other user.
- Whilst our calculation does include 'simply being online' the ordering of the users in the "Most Active" is weighted according to a variety of different factors of which many cannot be simply "cheated" as you claim. Also any user who is caught "cheating" the system will be removed from Token system and won't receive any rewards; plus it will be seen as breaking the exploitation rule and will they be punished accordingly.
I can understand your concern but this system has been introduced to give a fair way for players to get a helping hand at the beginning of V6 for their current actions in V5.9.

It is very unlikely that our current world will be released for download. We want to ensure that you can enjoy our V6 experience and move onto the new solutions we have to offer when the time comes.
Also as you stated our world is vast and the file size would be extremely large even when compressed. We also want to consider the privacy of certain individuals whose builds and items would become publicly accessable if released, even though they were meant to be kept private. On a more technical side of things this would also be quite a challenge as we store parts of the world data in a customised format to ensure we can easily edit and access logs etc.
We completely understand that our current world will be missed but you have a few more months to enjoy it and then hopefully you will be able to enjoy all of the new fun V6 will offer!

Later today Vanilla Minecraft 1.5 is supposed to be released. This does not however mean that Noobstown will also be updated today. As with all Minecraft updates please do not update if you wish to continuing playing on our server for the time being. We will post information about doing so once we have updated our server; we have to wait for Bukkit to release a safe and stable version and for our plugins to be updated to run with the latest version. Thanks, ItsLawrence

This was probably caused by the fact that the Mojang skins servers went down for a period of time earlier today and your skin may have been cleared at that point. https://twitter.com/StatusMinecraft/status/311454287232389120Their servers are back working now hopefully and so your skin will be queued to update on Noobscraft accordingly within the next few hours.

Capes are currently only given out by Mojang for special things, or are a result of a client side modification.
We currently have no way to give them out on the server without changes to your client (which Noobstown doesn't do) and so this isn't likely to happen anytime soon.
