i'd say admins and mods maybe not always have time to read the books, and maybe just "hiring" several people to regularly read submissions and work at the store might be helpful. People can always report the book contents just like they can in chat if there is a problem that gets through the cracks. BUT most importantly what is the store going to be called? Barnes and nOObles?

Most definitely, the mod's and admins Have a lot to to take care of, they would have no time for thing's like that, I would hire someone that is good with grammer and who knows a good story when they see one. EpicEnderMiner looks as if he would be good at the job 
I agree, with all, but keeping in mind this server is a family server, not all people will be good at grammar. I'd say it would only need to be able to keep the readers attention and eager to read on.

This is a fantastic idea that holds many possibilities when it comes to improving the over all quality of the server. Stores, Libraries, ect... Eventually, I hope they will make bookshelves like containers to hold books that have been written and what not. Should you need help with publications, or materials in creating this project, please be sure to /msg me in game or send me a PM here through the forums.
EDIT: One thing though, how would / could we monitor the written books to make sure the content is appropriate and suitable? Would you want to mass produce books to sell so players can keep? Or set up a buy / sell system that has the same prices so the book is 'rented' and then returned for the same amount it was purchased for? A few things that came to mind.
I'm not sure how it would work exactly, but I brought this up as a server idea so it makes more possibilities possible  . The idea with the bookshelves you mentioned would be great, It's surprising that they haven't already implemented it. To make sure books were appropriate there should be a few players from different timezones, or most likely admins/mods that read each book before it is handed in to the book store to be published, I'd suggest someone like yourself to be in a role like that because you seem to be a player that would take the job seriously and be fair! Now we just need an admins indication to whether this idea will ever be brought to Noobstown

Hey, I'm Jayjay36, my name is James, mostly known as Jay. I am 14 and I live in a small town called Dundee which is located in Scotland  I've just went in to my 4th year of high school so most of the time that I'm offline, that's the reason lol. (Or playing my ps3 xD) I live in the wild because I prefer to live alone, that doesn't mean I dislike communicating , I just like my own space at times and with towns it's usually busy (Depending on what town you live in). I've owned two different towns before, my first was Balcombe, pronounced with a silent "b" and that was a medieval village, my second was MapleForge which is pronounced simply as you see it, it's still alive, but owned by a different player . IF you write the thext in a text dokument on your computer, then it's able to copy past it into books in minecraft
Are you sure?  It doesn't automatically go on to the next page when your typing, it just doesn't let you type when you reach the bottom of the page, I thought of using something like a notepad, but you'd probably have to copy and paste chunks at a time.

That's why I suggested this as a whole server thing, I figured the Admins would be able to duplicate the books somehow so people can buy them, but it's easier said than done

I'm not meaning to dampen the idea, but it's easier said than done.. Maybe you can search on Bukkit for a plugin that does that, but I doubt there would be a plugin allowing you to do that singularly. I'd expect it to be in a larger plugin as a hole, similar to essentials where it has multiple commands, and that wouldn't be healthy on the server if Fatnoob was to get a large plugin just to provide the sign editing. It's a great idea, don't get me wrong, but it might be hard to find something like that.

Well the idea has been stuck in my head for a while, but it was when EpicEnderMiner let me read his published book called Survival Games, that was when the idea sprouted . The idea I had was to have some sort of book store at spawn that allows members to write and publish books by themselves, I've always loved the idea of being able to publish a book, I'd even give it a go . If this was to be put in to place then I think there should be certain members (Veterans? Who knows), most likely mods and admins review books and if they're up to standards like, readable, exciting, good plot etc, they should be publish and sold? for like 50nbz at a time. It would add a little more involvement within the server and it would be really cool to see the outcome! I just hope I'm not the only player who sees this as very exciting lol..

That rubbish sounds all the same, you should be listening to that if your going out clubbin. You kids should be listening to real music. If you like that kind of stuff I suggest you listen to underworld or infected mushroom, now that's proper stuff, the best stuff you'll ever hear. Out with the new and in with old!
Whether I'm sitting chilling or playing games I listen to three different genres, EDM, Melodic (peaceful piano and violin etc) and then I have my rock/metal which might contain very light screamo. I'm just waiting for my headset to be delivered in the next couple of days because everything will sound better! Can't wait

Hello Welcome to this server and the community it is populated by, you seem like a really nice player already so I'm sure you will fit in perfectly with most of the community (Excluding the people that purposely come online to annoy people lol). To answer your question, there isn't any mods or textures that you need to get the full experience of this server. The admins try to stay away from mods that require people to download it themselves to play

You'll need to intertwine the plots above and below unless you have lots, and I mean lots of land because whoever claims the plots on top/below will be able to dig right down in to the underground part/will be able to build right up to the top.
