I spent the night in the treehouse.  It was very cozy!

You're welcome! Come on back if you're ever in the area again!

Noobstown General / New Public Fishing Dock!
« on: 9 Apr 2015, 20:08:54 »
I just built a new Public Fishing Dock out in the Wilderness! Stop on by and drop your line in the river and try your luck. Just watch out for the skeletons, you're in range from a couple of spots on the dock. It's located at -953, 66, -1131 NW of the wilderness spawn, or you can /visit JohnReiher and leave by the backdoor near the spawn and follow the path. Just remember to close the door behind you.

I meant to say "if it's on" fat fingers. No, it's not on, and yes, I don't trust random noobs enough to keep them from stripping the chunk clean...

29
Wild chunks are protected. Only those who you add can do stuff, plus, there's no damage to someone using a crafting table.

Ah, that's what I originally thought. I know the chunk if it's on public, but I don't want to do that. Shoot.

30
Crafting table is automatically public just as a heads up :)

Thanks HarryX11! I did not know that.

Yes, I'm a Sphax fan. I'm sort of used to it, though I do have other textures that I like to use on occasion.

32
In the jungle biome NW of the Wilderness start, I've set up a Wayfarers' Refuge.

It's a treehouse that anyone should be able to use when they are traipsing around the Wilderness near my property. There's some food, coal and sticks for torches, as well as some planks and bit of cobble.

Sadly I haven't figured out how to make the crafting bench public, so you'll have to use your personal 2x2 crafting area to make torches and sticks.

So if you're in the neighborhood and it's getting dark, make it to my place and take shelter there!

Thanks! I'm already building a wayfarers shelter at my property in the Wilderness. I treehouse you can stay if you're being bothered by mobs at night. I'll post pictures of it when it's finished.

I saw this video and it's something we can do within Noobstown. It doesn't require any special mods, just an understanding on how to find your coordinates and some cooperation with the land owners in the Wilderness.

The way I see it, is that we would have a "geocache office" where Wilderness property owners can place a geocache on their property such that it would be accessible to anyone wandering the wilderness areas. Each participant would add an entry to a Geocache book with their X, Y, and Z coords of a geocache at the G-Office, perhaps at the Wilderness Tutorial site. Those who want to seek out these caches, would pick one and head out into the wilderness. Yes, you can make use of the /visit feature to take a shortcut, but real cachers walk the whole way.

Property owners would be encouraged to provide shelters for travelers as they trek through the wilderness, in search of the caches. When you find the cache, you can sign it, and you are encouraged to leave a trinket of some sort in the cache and take a trinket someone else had previously left there.

What do you think of that sirs?

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Wild Chunks: Burn baby, burn!

Thankfully treefeller on Jungle trees are nerfed on this server, and thankfully chunks are not expensive on this server. Right? :)

Anyway, less sarcasticly, I really wish firespread to stay off.

All seriousness, I just want it to be a toggleable setting in Wild Chunks. However, I do understand the problems of keeping the fire from spreading and wiping out an entire forest.

I do use Treefeller, but it doesn't work on those 40 block high jungle trees with a 4 block trunk.  ;)

The other problem is that the trunks of the offending trees are outside my property lines and the canopy is 50 meters up in the air. I do use the Jump capability of the Clock in game, but still, take out the wrong wood block and you find yourself on top of a rapidly disintegrating bunch of leaves.  :O

I'm trying to clear my Wilds plots of all overhanging trees. Of course I chose the Jungle biome so I have these freak'n tall trees with wide canopies. I'd love to set fire to the overhanging canopy and let it burn back to the property line. Would it be possible to add a fire toggle for Wild Chunks?

Server Announcements / Re: Hopper Protections

OK, I've never used the "/chopper" command before, so I don't know what it's parameters are.  :)

I'll probably have to look it up on the Minecraft Wiki.

Support / Bought a pet and didn't get my Cow
« on: 21 Oct 2014, 21:36:44 »
I opened the /petshop menu and bought a cow, but I didn't know at that time pets were disabled. Can I get a refund on my 20,000 noobs?

Ah, then I should file a ticket or just email one of them?

I just bought a pet cow and tried to summon it. I got the message that /pet was not a supported command. Has the /pet xxx commands been suspended and if so, can I get my 20,000 noobs back from that purchase?

Thank you Mrfloris! That clears up some of the confusion. Your post would make a great FAQ answer for folks who, like me, request certain mods on the server. Perhaps the moderator could add it to a FAQ.

We either get screwed or we get tail end charlie support. But we won't be as bad off as the PS|2 and other consoles. They may just get dropped.

However, I've found that they may leave game development where it is, this has been my experience with their Skype takeover. They have been updating it on all the platforms it was already on. So we'll see what happens.

Market Place / JohnReiher's Vegetable Stand is open
« on: 29 Aug 2014, 04:12:32 »
Don't have a lot in it right now, just cocoa beans, sugar cane and pumpkins. Stop on by and pick some up. Just use the /visit JohnReiher command!

I hope to expand my market, but I'm not one of those industrial farmers, just a small farmer!

Now that's interesting MagicMan27, I've seen the Twilight Forest run on a server for multiple people. Are you sure it's just a single client mod?

Another mod I'd love to see on the server is the Twilight Forest Mod. Another place to visit, quest, and find new things to fight, craft, and mine.

Well, if they are going to have different wood fences, that pretty much means that they will have different wood sticks. Interesting.

Yes, I follow. I know that a couple of servers have the ability to download textures. Is that a possibility for mods or are we limited to server mods like MMMC?
