Lava has been taken out recently, if I am not mistaken. It was taken out because like danniel said, it has been used to not only grief structures but kill people as well. The only option we had was to ban lava. If I recall, not even I am able to place lava anymore, which is strange because I was able to use some just a few days ago. Anyways, for now lava and fire are banned items.

finally a thread about this matter... i were treated as a god in wellsprings, and had all these responcibilities because i were the TA who were online most of the time. i got so stressed that i moved to another town. TA might be great for some, but for others (like me and nickolas) it just gets too much. i got a brother and a mother with a depression, so i have to take care what i do. i play minecraft to get UNstressed, not stressed. if i get stressed from minecraft, i'm forced to quit. thinking of opening a poll on the matter
EDIT: how do i make a poll? 
There is a button at the top and bottom of the page that says "add poll" but the topic creator may be the only one who is able to do that. Another thing I agree with both of you, when I was still the mayor of NetherFrost, although it was fun and still wish I could be the mayor, the only thing I could do was log on, then tend to the town and people's needs. Then I became an op, which is still hard work, but at least I don't have to keep the weight of a town on my shoulders anymore.

it's been locked even before chests didn't auto lock, i've had it a while and left it locked and with it, but then BAM, also do you need the screenshot?
That would be good, it would give us evidence.

It sounds like to me nickolas, that the only person who could have destroyed a locked chests is an admin or moderator. I have done that a little more times than I would have liked to (meaning I meant to open it but instead I destroyed it) but I would have told the person about it. The only other way I think it could have been destroyed is someone had hacked maybe? I am not very familiar in the field but have heard of those incidents happening before. Other thank that nickolas, I don't think I will be much help. Sorry.

Sammo I prefer snow, that is why I made my town in the snow. It is pretty and quieter than rain. There are other snow biomes on the server. So if we come in a conflict with our town's expanding, I can show you the different snow biomes.

So basically if your wondering what is CTP well basically they take grief and capture the flag into one mini game. There are two teams, Red And Blue, you start out by choosing what class you want to be such s Warrior, Ground Shaker, or wizzard, etc. And you have wool and you have to replace the enemy wool with yours at select locations or Capture Points. At the end the winning team can get any item weather its dirt to gold ingot or even fish. Overall a rediculously fun plugin anyone would like! _Cody493_
We had something very similar to this before, but it had to be taken out of the server, to reduce lag.

This is exactly the issue that many of people have been putting forward, in my opinion there needs to be something done about it. Yes its fully obvious that this is a game, but if someone's items are in threat of being lost, it gets pretty frustrating when you do end up loosing them. The staff team are supposed to help people and make sure everyone is happy, this post does not seem like SammoBammo is happy. Even if it is a survival server it gets so annoying when you lose all your valuable items, and what if you want to fight mobs and then you lose them? You can't say:
don't walk around near mobs with it In conclusion, all I'm basically trying to say is that there should be some way of refunding the items lost.
Danniel I understand what you are trying to say, for it happened to me several times before. The thing is that we can't always trust all of the players on the server, they might ask for an item that they didn't already have. This is what minecraft is, that is what happens when you walk around mobs on this server, so you need to keep that in mind what is able to happen when you put yourself at that risk. Maybe you should make a post in the suggestion area if you really feel like something should be done about this.

I know it's Reeeeally frustrating, but isn't it more to the survival aspect and realism? Creeper explodes, Items get destroyed? Creepers should be able to destroy terrain, but most people would vote for it to keep it the way it is.
That is what I was thinking, it fits survival more. Unfortunately, I don't think moderators can replace your items. It happened to madcow 3 times in the same hour. He lost three diamond picks and much more.

I have noticed this issue only when you get killed by a creeper. I know many veterans who have performed the /back command but no items are found even though it had been seconds after they were killed.
