Server Announcements / Re: Noobstown Moving Forward« on: 6 Dec 2016, 15:16:25 »I think it would be better if everyone with a donator rank, should lose it. I'm a VIP+ myself, and I don't really care about a title. Some people might even get mad if they see that someone has VIP as title. It's better that every member has the same title, or at least not a special title. That you wanted to waste your money is up to you, but I invested a couple hundred bucks in the VIP and VIP+ upgrades for myself, my friends, during contests etc. If that just gets thrown out then I know for certain they don't respect their players and that we can all just pack up and go instead of sticking around. 505
Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Starting Up« on: 11 Nov 2016, 14:37:50 »
More players means that the 1% that does stick around can become a regular. And that helps build up an active server.
I rather have 50 players join and leave, and great people join and stick around because the chat is active, the towns are doing things, and stuff is going on. They join, see it's quiet, and leave, .. If from those 50 people just a couple stick around for a few months or a year, that would already double the online players, and make it more fun to play multi player. 506
Suggestions & Ideas / Re: 1.10.x upgrade?« on: 11 Nov 2016, 14:35:20 »Dunno. I'm probably in the minority, but I'm not fond of the changes to combat in 1.9....I'm just as happy to play in 1.8 a bit longer, even without the new blocks.I am too, but people upgrade to 1.9, and 1.10, and 1.11, and they want to play on new things. And if this place doesn't offer it, it simply means those players will probably not return as they find another place where they do upgrade. It's one of the reasons why it's so quiet on NT, so I think it's fair to ask if we can get with the times. It sucks that it will be many months before we get anywhere, because of plugins falling behind. And I am not saying that's Larry's fault, I am saying it's a shame, and I wish it was different. This place is dead. I played for 12+ hours and for a full week, and the most ever online when I was on was 1 mod, 4 vips, and 1 member. The rest of the time it is me and maybe my friend, or another player and their friend. I've played for hours and suddenly someone joined, and I was like, oh yeah, I am not in single player.. 507

Ah, you got around to posting the suggestion I had in the game of trying to cut down the registration process.
Yeah, if the server is grief-free, then throwing people into the server without forcing them a 15 minute tutorial and rules poll, might keep them around a bit. Phaze and I discussed it might be nice to just require them to type /rules, which drops them a book with the rules, and the basics listed on the screen. Then they can just get into the world and talk to the community ~ and with so little guests joining, I suspect advertising and spam is to a minimum (and nothing /ignore can't fix). 509
Suggestions & Ideas / Re: 1.10.x upgrade?« on: 10 Nov 2016, 15:04:21 »
Thank you for the information. It's a shame. Because I can imagine that people enjoy the 1.9 changes, as well as what 1.10 introduced, and upcoming with 1.11 and beyond .. there's a reason for them to check elsewhere because of it I am suspecting.
Bummer to hear it will be delayed for months again then. 510
Suggestions & Ideas / Armour Stands plugin for Posing« on: 10 Nov 2016, 05:43:03 »
Would be awesome to have something like /wild unit, but for /stand pose
So we could have an armour stand using pre-set of a few poses. Maybe a plugin could assist in this. Looking at the unit, then type: /stand pose [1,2,3,4] 1- default 2- small 3- arms/noarms toggler 4- fight 5- ... If an option to hold a sword, shield, etc is possible, perhaps it could use what you're holding in your hand, or have available in your inventory to populate it. Breaking the armour stand should just drop the items and forget that unit. 511
Support / Re: The signs lag so much« on: 8 Nov 2016, 15:12:56 »
If you create a build that's a shop, it's likely they are shop chests, but i understand what you mean.
Just wish the signs wouldn't lag this much and that there's an alternative to it. 512

It would be cool to make an outpost called shop, and farm and grinder, etc.
And have /t shop work, rather than /t outpost shop 514
Support / The signs lag so much« on: 6 Nov 2016, 09:19:04 »
Having a shop in town is great, having an auto sorter is great.
And since I wouldn't mind turning my 512 items auto sorter into a public shop for everybody to use with /visit mrfloris, I wouldn't mind putting signs on the chests of the items people ask about and over time update the rest too. But 512 shop signs and the lag will increase to a point where it's not fun anymore. Anything noobstown could perhaps do to replace or add another type of shop to the server that could be like ChestShop but without the signs? Kinda wish we could use LWC and set the type of chest to ShopChest for example, that way when anybody but the owner opens the chest (or anybody on the cmodify list) it would show a market value of that item, clicking it twice would buy that item(s). I really do not want to place 512 signs and find out i get 5fps. 515
Suggestions & Ideas / 1.10.x upgrade?« on: 6 Nov 2016, 09:13:34 »
It's a new season, and 1.11 might be around the corner at some point, but it wouldn't be a bad thing to get 1.10 support if possible.
I wouldn't mind having polar bear spawner? is that a thing? Or one as a pet. There are a few new blocks (void, bone, nether, etc), would be fun to try building with those. Will we see NT on 1.10, (it's been a while, it's fair to ask), or are skipping to 1.11 perhaps? 516
Suggestions & Ideas / Additions to 'noobstowny' feature« on: 6 Nov 2016, 08:44:13 »
Hey Larry,
A few things I'd love to see personally, and I hope many others do as well. And since we're on our own noobsTowny version of Towny, maybe it's possible now. rules, and a few more default options If I am new and shopping around for a town, I wouldn't mind figuring out what the basic (or extended) town rules are. Exploring the town and finding signs (and it being different (and usually incomplete/outdated) in every town is time consuming. However, I would not mind if I get a quick overview of the FAQ, or a link to the forums when doing /t <name> or /t <rules> Just how it currently says :open[no], :public[no], it could have, :farm[yes], :plot_farm[no], :grinder[yes], :plot_grinder[no], :mine_down[no], :min_plots[1], :max_plots[3], :staff_positions_open[0], :guests[no], :max_build_height[100], :rules_url[" noobs.town/town/x/rules " ], :plots_location["/t outpost plots"], :plots_resale[no] how it visually looks, not up to me. bit of extra info of each bit: :farm[yes], This town does not have a farm for residents :plot_farm[no], This town does not allow you to have a farm on your plot :grinder[yes], This town has a grinder for residents :plot_grinder[no], This town does not allow you to have a mob grinder on your plot :mine_down[no], Mining down is not allowed, building down is allowed (basement, farm, storage) :min_plots[1], You can have at least 1 plot :max_plots[3], You may have up to a maximum of 3 plots :staff_positions_open[0], There are 0 staff positions available for this town right now. :guests[no], This town does not take guests as residents, please register to be a member first. :max_build_height[100], Your plot builds can not exceed more than 100 blocks from ground level. :rules_url[" noobs.town/town/x/rules " ], extended post on the forums with all the town rules, ask questions here :plots_location["/t outpost plots"], Available resident plots can be found here (t spawn, t outpost x,y,z) :plots_resale[no], You can not resale your plot, if you leave, plot sale gets reset to town default, money of sale goes to town. our town is called "x", so doing /t x info or /t x full, might spit that out. Also, could we please prevent permission abuse on plots, when someone leaves their plot? If a resident parts with the town, gets kicked out, or otherwise loses ownership of their plot, could it reset to the town default settings, and plot price? I'd love to be able to set this somewhere, so we don't give away a free plot, and they leave, setting it to some price and cash in on that. It's extra work, not needed (in my opinion) and it would also prevent others in town from buying the plot when they weren't supposed to, just to grief the resources on it and cause drama. /t set plotdefault on (uses the below settings, otherwise ignores it, meaning these override whatever) /t set plotdefault nfs (forces it to be set to: not for sale, so others can't buy it) /t set plotdefault price (x nbz, force is to x noobs, in case nfs is set to fs in above setting, defaulting to this price here, money goes to town bank when purchased) /t set plotdefault canbuild off (forces permissions so nobody can build on the plot, until it gets owned by someone else, avoid griefing) /t set plotdefault candestroy off (forces perms so nobody can destroy, until it gets owned by someone else, avoid griefing) I hope I am making a bit of sense. i hate being away for a week, coming back and someone has ruined a plot because some player left town, it was for sale and someone who wasn't allowed to buy more plots got it anyway and started building on it. 517
Suggestions & Ideas / One '/event' information command« on: 6 Nov 2016, 08:16:32 »
Knowing there is one command to cover, /adventure, /quest, /boss, /pvpbattle, /noobween, /news, /etc... woudl be cool
Then if we get online we might wanna know if there's something we're missing this day, week, month .. we can type: /event * Noobscraft Events Information (but seriously, check the forums for the latest) * Upcoming: New season, new mining world coming soon. * Upcoming: Noobmas advent, get ready to collect for Christmas * Upcoming: Saturday: Check out /warp party for more drop-party details * Just finished: Noobween, phew, glad that scary stuff is behind us now. * Quest: [Active], Go on a quest, bring a friend! /kit theme and /warp quest * Pst, we have a daily /lotto, don't miss out on a chance to win big. 518
Suggestions & Ideas / Quick add to '/wild chunks free' feature« on: 6 Nov 2016, 08:06:25 »
Not really a suggestion, but I noticed in my quest to find out how to see the amount of free chunks I have, that
a- https://www.noobscraft.com/free/ doesn't list how many I can still buy for 0 b- https://www.noobscraft.com/free/ could use the text: Check in-game with : /wild free (side note: could we get a bit more than 6 friends? .. I am not really sure why it could be a limit of sorts, why not 8 or 10 or 12?) 519
Suggestions & Ideas / Simple races« on: 6 Nov 2016, 07:48:40 »
*Wink* I think we miss MineApoc quite a bit. Maybe not everything from it, and that's not what this discussion is out (so please don't go there), but some awesome features I personally do miss.
Is there a town for just dwarfs or elves on the server? A community of witches or beasts? Is someone in it for the money as a Financier, or rather for the aesthetics as a Builder? /races, /race { * Noobstown lets you pick a race, fun for you and your friends. * Right now there are humans, elves, beasts, dwarfs, financier, builders, and witches. * For more information, type: /race help * You are currently: human } /race help { * /race (info command, and /race help for this page) * /race <player> (shows race of player) * /race change <race> (changes you to a new race, like witch or dwarf * /race type <race> (a bit of extra fun info about that type of race) } [vip+] [g] mrfloris: /race * Noobstown lets you pick a race, fun for you and your friends. * Right now there are humans, elves, beasts, dwarfs, and witches * For more information, type: /race help * You are currently: human [vip+] [g] mrfloris: /race fumblehead * Player Fumblehead is a dwarf [vip+] [g] mrfloris: /race type dwarf * Skilled miners, always on the lookout for that gold and forging OP picks, can be found in underground tunnels and caves. [vip+] [g] mrfloris: /race change dwarf * You're now a dwarf Additionally, I think perhaps 'race' might be the wrong word, because we could have unique groups for like VIP and VIP+, and we can prefer to be showing as a Builder or Adventurer. 520
Suggestions & Ideas / Noobstown archeology« on: 6 Nov 2016, 07:32:34 »
What would motivate many that love mining, collecting, and combat. Is unique items. I would love to spend mining in the mining world knowing that very rarely I could find an enchanted drop that I can trade with a villager at the spawn marketplace, or perhaps use to enchant one of my favorite items with.
Having an unbreaking v pick axes, or unbreaking x gold helmet for example (keeping it simple here). Would be pretty cool. Collecting these artifacts that are quite rare, could mean I would spend more time online mining and trying out my luck in the new mining world with my friends. And what is that? There's a rumor once a year a villager in a boat arrives with a fortune v pickaxe for x of these rare artifacts? But yeah, I think it would be cool to hear a bang during mining and find a super rare fossil, some ancient scroll or unique artifact we can then use to spiffy up a buff on armour, or enchantment on a tool beyond what we can normally do. .. (just an example) 521
Suggestions & Ideas / Add 'search' to the /ah feature« on: 6 Nov 2016, 07:22:37 »
When the market place is flooded with items, especially during events, it is harder to just find what you are looking for. There are normal coal and enchanted coal, finding the specific ones takes extra time.
My suggestion is to have the ability to click (on the bottom row) a paper or whatever and then in the chat type what you are looking for. Then the page updates listing only those items. 522
Suggestions & Ideas / The /wild help command« on: 6 Nov 2016, 07:18:34 »
At least for me, but when I am in a wild chunk that I do not own I have limited access to the help command.
Example: /wild unit and /wild unit info report back I do not own the chunk. To help others it would be nice to be able to be *anywhere* and have at least access to the help side of the commands. 523

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Inactivity« on: 27 Jun 2016, 17:50:41 »
I barely play anymore, because it's still on 1.8, while the world has moved on to 1.10 already.
Not only that, the server is 'empty', I mean.. it's just the regulars vips and a few new members that I never see again. It's just motivating me.. I can imagine it's the same for Moderators. There's not much to do when you're in-game for hours and there's just a few things to help out with. Sorry to sound negative. But when there's less than a dozen of players active, of which the majority are regulars. There's just no real need for 5+ staff to be online 24/7. There's a ticket system. I rather see the staff that comes online to follow up on tickets than be on 24/7 and 'afk'. I was hoping 1.8 would bring in more players. I was hoping the winter would bring in more players. I was hoping xp weekends would bring in more players. I was hoping the summer would bring in more players. I was hoping the new stuff would bring in new players. I was hoping that some staff gone and some bug fixes would bring in more 'regulars' and new players. I was hoping the mineapoc merge would bring in more activity. I was hoping a move to a working towny thing and the mineapoc features would bring in more players and activity. But it's been 1,5 years. And I for one dont' need another 'head' item from a quest. We were hoping last year to throw open our town so players could just get to plots and manage it all themselves, have a farm open for them to get their mcmmo and items up. And due to 1.7->1.8 and mcmmo bugs, not to mention griefing and permission issues and even worse -> towny issues.. We had to abandon the idea of opening our town to guests, members, etc. And we couldn't 'hire' people to make builds for us because we can't reset plots. We also couldn't open up the farm obviously. Yeah, there's a new noobstowny thing now. But we're on 1.8, not 1.10, and there's just no activity. My friends all left the server, my staff lost interest in helping in the town. The great in-game friends all moved to their own town (which got sold to other mayors now or simply died due to inactivity) .. etc. And with the new system, it's quite expensive to just expand land. I rather donate for town plots and get a few players. Than constantly pay more for a few plots to players who then leave a week later or never return. From the 91% of the residents we lost 50%, and the other 50% hasn't been on for over 9 months. NT is kinda dead - for me - gameplay wise. I can imagine there's no motivation for moderators (besides perks and status) to play anymore. It is not meant to trash talk, by any means. it's my experience, unfortunately. And those who are friends and online, I can't play with them.. They are in their nation, their town, their wilds. And unless they grant me build/destroy permissions, .. i can't work together because I am already setup for my own wild and town. So it's quite lonely. If it is unfair for mods to just login and enjoy the perks? I dunno.. if they aren't online, they aren't using or enjoyign those perks either really. If a staff is gone for 6+ months, maybe it's time to step down and make space for regulars. Unfortn. most mods are active, until they get mod. And after 3 months they disappear. We've seen it with quite a few in the past. On any server. Anyway.. I love the mods they have now. And I like the regulars. I just wish I had a reason to play that isn't waiting for the next restriction to be lifted or version to be released. (ANd yes, you can link to version 1.10 thread from the frontpage, but it does include that 1.9 is completely skipped, so that argument is moot) happy summer! i hope to play some NT hours soon. i hope they wont be my last. I go where the action is. MySpace is still alive, but everybpdy's on facebook. 525
