Towns & Nations / Re: [town x contest] BANK == Free VIP
« on: 17 Jul 2015, 19:56:23 »
We have picked a winner after much debate, and it's pinkblade1. Congratulations!

From the five participants, one dropped off, one was .. obsidian with lava, nice troll build ilujf, and three awesome contributions. But after a bit of debate we settled on the town bank build by pink, nicely done.

All participants will receive a participation prize (check your town plot mailbox this weekend FireWire & Randoperson) and pinkblade1, contact me once we're both in-game so I can give you the upgrade from VIP, to VIP+.

Randoperson and blade, please leave the builds are they are, no need to take anything down :) We love to keep them both :)

Just letting you guys know I am going to just sit there and stare at a wall.
If I don't respond in the game to you, consider me busy or just wanting to be left alone.

Taking a tiny break, but I might want to waste some time in MC getting things ready and organised.
That's all.

They don't work though.
Like I already mentioned in my first post in the thread. Just saying, they can be spawned.

I don't know what an iron farm is, but just so you know, iron golems are not available on the serer. Just a friendly FYI. This is to prevent troll/grief issues.
They are.

Oh yeah, and the beacons don't work in wilderness. That was a harsh one. :P

The staff choices to configure their worlds in a certain way isn't meant to troll players. It's to prevent griefing, abuse, exploits, unfair gameplay, etc. Even if we don't like it - as it affects gameplay for those with the right intentions.

The iron farm won't work.

It isn't, on the iPad you can only play the pocket edition.

How can I connect on an iPad? I need some sort of port apparently?
He doesn't mean a tablet like that, he means like a Windows tablet.

Hey buddy,

Nice to read your introduction. I enjoy playing with you on here, and just know I got your back on Noobstown. Welcome to the #caturday gang :) As always. Problems, questions, etc, just give me a poke. Same for Mikey, Mistic, Fumble, Paprikaatje, etc. I've escalated your privileges in town so you can help out - but don't feel obligated. It just makes it easier when we're all going something as a group. Skype you soon :)

Suggestions & Ideas / The custom Noobstown /home command
« on: 29 Jun 2015, 19:05:19 »
Clarification: This is a suggestion :)

We think it would actually be a nice idea if /wild home <#> could become /home wild <#> as well..
And that in addition we could teleport to our plots in towns with: /home plot <#>
So a member with 3 plots could do:
/home
/home plot
/home wild
/home bed

Towns & Nations / Re: [town x plot reward] Summer 2015
« on: 28 Jun 2015, 05:23:36 »
Hey everybody,

We at town x have natural and nature looking builds, think of it as an NPC village that's simply a bit bigger than the regular one, with builds in all sorts of sizes and shapes that sorta match the area.

We've made a few of our own of course, for examples the actual npc village in the above screenshot with the help of Dmonemac95, SmurfStompe and Randopeson, or like the spawners like in the screenshot below, made by me and Mistic_Ice.

But of course, our wonderful residents of town x have their own plot(s) and build some very fun stuff on them. And this thread is a little 'thank you' to them for being part of town x. Before I mention who we picked as the three winners, let's first show off a few builds that I found wondering around town.

Some crazy builds are in the making, so who knows where this is going
but I can see the potential and looking forward to it being finished.

Just like this one

And some are pretty amazing and a single screenshot doesn't do justice. Like this one which is really worth a walk through:

We have a few simple ones by people who just joined the server

But it inspired their neighbours to be more creative:

These are pretty nice, but ended up as embassy plots and aren't eligible unfortunately:

The variety of types of builds spreads from cobble castles in the making:

to natural-quartz builds that are small and cozy:

For some people it's not about their build, but all about the cats, like Witheredkitten:

;)

This natural looking mountain is actually a plot, terraformed from the ground up, with beautiful design in and out, a screenshot just doesn't justify (if only i had the time to make a walkthrough video)

Heeeey, this doesn't look like a single plot:

It's easy to get a quick first impression of a build, but trust me, I spend my time walking around it, exploring it and taking note of the inside too. And sometimes the inside of a build is as impressive as the outside:

And I found a disco-light-flashing party room:

But it's not always about the big builds, here's an example of a cozy inside that certainly can feel like home (from the tree hut build)

Everything that has a listing of some sort of ranking by default is indirectly or directly a competition, maybe not to #15 or #2, maybe it is to #4 or #20 .. It's just game-play and perhaps not taken too serious, but it's still a fun little competition. Regular and active players stick together as well. Seeing how you're progressing through listings and rankings is what adds an extra layer of gameplay to the game. Pretending to ignore it is like having breakfast without bacon; you know you're missing something.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: /beacon on/off
« on: 27 Jun 2015, 17:51:59 »
but the beacons already can be controlled by their range...

Pyramid size   Effect range
1 level              20
2 levels              30
3 levels              40
4 levels              50

So if everyone would pay attention to this everything will be fine...
I have 6x6 wild chunks. So if I put a beacon in the middle I will not bother anyone.
Maybe we can have a topic for the beacon activation so only admin could activate the beacons.

False, If I wanted a certain ability, like haste II, I require the 9x9, which affects the range. (thankfully hehe)

« on: 26 Jun 2015, 12:55:45 »
I wonder how many people really have close neighbours - and how many of those really would be bothered by the effects. The wilderness world is big, this probably only affects the 'temporary' players that don't walk for more than 30 seconds away from wild's spawn. Now with the /wild go command I am sure even more are spread out and therefor less are that close to eachother. The 'regulars' that actually make up for the online activity of the server usually do not live near (especially not with a reach of max 50 of the center of a beacon) to have any effect to others nearby. I always find it a shame that those who are regular and are active, can't enjoy the little things because of some newbie who plays for 3 hours and then never again. Maybe that's just how I see it. But with a combination of 50 plots average per regular/active player (from what I can tell talking to in-game players) I really do not think it's actually a problem.

I am going to call your bluff and just ask to turn them on and have a better experience for those who are active. And curious to see if we will notice any complaints at all. My (and many others) their neighbours are the ones on /wild friends list, why would they complain in the first place.

My 2 cents.

Usually if a player seems to get to 64 raw fish pretty quickly, it's something that raises a red flag. Usually VIP/VIP+ members are not anything to worry about; we trust that they play fair and follow the rules.

Admins can check console logs for /echest and such and view inventory to see what ppl have in it and in their current inventory. There's no use in playing unfair, just fishing is fun, no need to ruin fun.
