I will run out of VIP powers in 2 days! I have enough points to get another 30 days (actually, a few months) but I am anticipating a lot of irl busy-ness in the following several weeks. I am strongly thinking of putting off VIP until things are a little not-busy again. Anyways, that wasn't the whole point. I came to thinking, "What are some things I would always be doing, regardless of what my member status is?" So I made a list... (Read the rest in x: -3430, z: 3480) What about you? A lot of us have recently supported or purchased VIP and some have run out... Some have been here since the beginning of Noobstown as Veterans... What will never change about you?

I'm driving down to a state attraction today, gonna be gone most of the day. I bid safe travels to all who are traveling this month! (or who already have...) Whether it's a 4-hour plane trip to another country or a 4-hour local drive.

Hi, you guys and admins and mods are really really good at talking.
You mean like, handling situations very well? The mods and admins knowing the right words to say when someone is acting up or needing help? I strongly agree Over and over, I see it happen.

If it's about money, we all have our own individual "bank" accounts which we can use to buy and sell things. Once you're in a town, the town has a town bank, which will be used for town upkeep payments and other things. Townspeople can donate to the town bank with /t deposit <amount>. Some towns belong to a collective group of towns (a nation), which also has a nation bank (for nation upkeep, etc). Townspeople can give money to their nation with /nation deposit <amount>.

Hey! My little bro ain't nobody's pet monkey! Oh wait... Luffy D. Monky. Never mind xDD Or is it Monky D. Luffy? I can't ever get it right xDWait, Nate is my nephew? Adoptive nephew? So confusing IGN: Fish_james Age: 20 Family relation: I'd like to be the (adopted like him as well) identical twin brother of Ummfredfelizco (if he Why agrees haha) Why the noobs position?: Because ummfred is cool, has an embassy plot in my town, and I'm a twin in real life! At Tortuga, we just go with private messaging on the forums as well as the in-game mail. The forum messages go straight to the receiver's email as well. Oakvale has a separate forum site for off-game town communication. I give credit to Hal and Fish and the Oakvale staff for what they do for their town But, having a town page at the Noobscraft forum would be great, opening an off-game channel that's dedicated to town members. That would mean we'd have to keep track of which town each person is in though. A straightforward solution would be to make sticky threads for each town under the Towns and Nations category, but that would fill up 2 pages so it'll probably have to be a separate category. Also, we're faced with the question, What happens to the threads of inactive towns?

Yay! Finally! Somebody who eats instant mi goreng! xD I really liked those when I was a kid (the local supermarket had those) and then we moved cities, etc. Mi goreng is an Indonesian (/Malaysian/Singaporean) noodle dish with sauce (instead of soup), and much like the Japanese ramen, it's found its way to the instant food market. If you're in a US city that's large enough, you can find one at your local Asian food store. So I guess the "Instant ramen noodles" option could be expanded to "Instant noodles of all sorts" And I haven't forgotten about burritos-- I was on a burrito craze this past summer Only ate burritos for 4 days straight. I guess the new question would be-- If we were to reset the poll, what [additional] dish choices would you put there?

Albie does have a point. Plots that are taken up by the railroad doesn't just include the rails and the structure it's built on, but all the blocks above and below it as well. This project will take up real estate. And the same with any town-connection idea (like the one I had about the waterway). Which means potentially less areas for people to build on. One alternative to this would be for towns to actually claim those railway plots--which would be borderline impractical since the town could use those plots for expansion and for resident houses. Unless... (farfetched idea alert) one creates an official town specifically for protecting attractions like this. Also, attractions such as a railway system will probably get more griefer attention due to its uniqueness. A random cobble house that's right beside the railway wouldn't be too appealing to grief compared to the railway itself. On the bright side, we've gone over the CLAG hurdle thanks to the one-minute warnings. Now we can ride our railways with the assurance that it CLAG won't ninja it away, then momentarily pick it up as the said lag-reduction-system passes by. I like how balanced everyone's contributions are about this topic Yay community brainstorming!

...so I've been taking note of some of the dishes (desserts included) that have been mentioned in global chat, which we Noobstown players have been eating, one time or another, in our computer seats while our fingers are momentarily away from the WASD and mouse. Of course, this is not an exhaustive list of options; I just picked ones that I thought would be kinda amusing or interesting. To balance that, I allowed 2 votes per person, and would end in 3 days. Drinks aren't included for now, otherwise we'd have... Tea, Coffee, Milk, Water, or Hot Lava. xD Buuut yeah, cast a vote, and comment!

Lesson learned hm. But if you use a Milk Bucket right after that, the food illness will be negated. Methinks it's only Raw Chicken and Rotten Flesh that causes food poisoning. Eating Spidey Eyes causes poison to your health like getting hit by a Cave Spider. All poison effects can be cured with Milk.

...build a house in to save stuff there and that you can reset the outside world without loosing your stuff. You can have the shops and some more build options like bigger plots...
If it's just about having larger build areas, people can build in the Wilderness and even set up shops there as well. It may not be officially protected, but /grief does the job if someone messes it up. Plus, you'll get way more than just a 32x32 plot, without upping your plot count. And you're free to choose your own strategic location. On the other hand. What about the hypothetical scenario when Noobstown needs to update to a new version (V6) and the whole world has to be reset? Would it be an interesting idea to simultaneously have another world (to slowly transition into), perhaps with jungle biomes and some of the other newer features, and save that world for the next version?

World Map updated! Check it out on the first post of this topic, or at tinyurl.com/noobstownmapRedundant post: Addressing some topics-- I'm going to make a town that is way farther away from any town on this map... Once I get unbanned, that is. It probably not even going to be on this grid!
The general world has borders though. It's set around the +/- 4000 area for x and z. Awesome Map, so if you want to make a new town it's a good idear to go in the area wher Flintwood is
I did some exploring on that unoccupied space in the southern part of the world--- it was a vast ocean, sometimes turning into frozen ocean. you forgot noobstown. {again}
...and I did it again in this version I've already got the coordinates typed in. I can't decide on its symbol on the map.

It's the fourth line, right below "z:"
Also, a MiniMap mod can help one with directions.

OceanView will be hard to connect to (i think), but i will donate some supplies.
Gaia is about 1200 blocks northwest of OceanView, and Flintwood is about 1200 blocks southeast of OceanView. Oh. and if you go directly west from OceanView, there is a certain rare biome Go 3,500 blocks and you'll reach a beautiful town called Castaway.

Well, PiratesCove and Cloudsong are already in the process of doing this, so... you all are just lagging behind.
PiratesCove and Cloudsong are around 300 blocks apart. For some towns, the closest town is over a thousand blocks away so it would be a difficult undertaking. Ideally, it'd be great if each participating town prepared some sort of train station, then have workers work on connecting them.

The town of Tortuga announces its wishes to join this Christmas tree contest. The tree will be located 3 plots north of the town spawn. Nyarrr
