I've built that exact trap a couple of times. Works great! The last step of clearing the torches and sealing the room sure gets the adrenaline going It probably takes a good 4 hours to build each trap.
I've found that mobs only spawn when you're relatively close to the trap. It also depends on how many players are online, how many mobs spawn in there.
If you were killed by a TNT explosion, the TNT in your inventory was probably destroyed by the same blast. TNT destroys 75% + of all items it blows up.

Why you want this role: I feel there's a need for a mature op to be of assistance during the hours I'm around (Australia). Past experience: I haven't been an op on minecraft but I run a popular forum so I'm experienced in moderation/conflict resolution. Time zone: GMT + 8 Additional information: I have experience with web development & hosting, photoshop, video editing etc as well if those skills would help promote the server.
We are getting loads of new users every day and it seems like every single one asks some silly questions
a) How do I make money? b) Why can't I build?
etc etc..
I have been to other servers where the spawn is an area filled with handy helpful signs that walk people through the way the server works. If we could get it across to people that they can only build in the wilderness, and how to use /shop, it would save a lot of ALL CAPS RAGE from newbies asking these questions constantly.
