Noobstown General / Re: What is YOUR noobstown story?

Starting off on Minecraft..
I was a real Newb when I joined the Noobscraft server/site.
I was subscribed to this guy on youtube, who decided to make a few short videos about Minecraft. I had never heard of the game, before, but he made it look like so much fun (plus his commentary was hilarious). Anyways, he only made three videos before saying "nah..not my cup of tea" and returned to vlogging. I did some searching on youtube and found hundreds of LPs for Minecraft, and finally broke down and bought the game.
At the time I worked a part time job from 1pm to 6pm, and Minecraft immediately became my life. I would come home, shower and eat, and jump on the computer till 3 am, and then sleep. I youtubed tutorials, searched on wiki, and played single player for weeks…

First Server
I eventually got on Google, and started searching for a server. On Oct 19, 2011 I joined my first server, Noobscraft…
At the time everyone was on a temporary server, waiting for the new Noobstown. I spent a good week or two building this amazing house on the beach, with a lighthouse that took HOURS. I eventually became allies with CrushedTaco, who helped turn my private island into a "town". He helped set up plots, and we began to think of names for the town, and who should be TAs (At the time I had no idea of the responsibilities of a real town….or what TAs were for that matter lol). That night I made a donation for the server…Noobscraft was my family/home and I was going to help it grow.
The next day, the server updated…and I lost everything. LoL
It was like a new game all over again. I swam for days (in reality 20-30 minutes) to the edge of the map. I never joined a town, and I decided to remake my house, and lighthouse, except bigger and better.
I spent a lot of time on the server, and on the forum and eventually filled out an Moderator Application. I was 23 with 10hrs a day of free time…and NO experience.
I got the job. Training began immediately, and Thank God for Inneed. I NEVER realized, what it took to be a Moderator. The patience, the time, the knowledge of bucket. I didn't know how to run a town let alone help with griefing, and codes (as I call them). I wasn't the best at it, but I helped where I could. Answered questions on the forum, took care of issues on the server.
I remember when we had to apply for membership, and people were constantly nagging at the Mods to make them members because there was an error with their application. Inneed was my savior…

I'm still here...
I'm sure you realize by now, there's a downside to this story. As you can see, I'm no longer a Mod here on this server. Late February/ Early March, one of my coworkers found out, her cancer was back. It was a very emotional time, because she wasn't only my coworker, but one of my best friends. She eventually made the decision to move back to TN, and I had the option to work full time. Times are hard, and I needed the money. I resigned from the Moderating position in March of 2012…
I now work from 7:30am-6pm…and when I'm not working I'm TIRED. I constantly visit the forum, and read over topics/games/music and I even put up some art from time to time…but the server rarely sees me.
As far as I know, my house is still located on my private island with it's own lighthouse looking over the sea. I sure do miss you guys. Time to get to bed…I have to work in the morning.
P.S. Still wear my Noobscraft shirt.
