Support / Re: abusive language
« on: 21 Jun 2013, 20:35:11 »
mc_mommy,

I was online last night when zach_slays acted poorly. That sort of language isn't welcome here. It is not just the mods enforcing the rules, but most of the members of the community that object as well. It is frequently new members that create these problems, not realizing that this is really family server, as mrfloris pointed out. Anyway, I am sorry that this was your introduction to Noobstown.

I see you have a mine-craft name as well. Feel free to join us when Conroy is not playing.

Server Announcements / Re: Final Build Stream!
« on: 21 Jun 2013, 20:11:20 »
I realize this is a little late, but... I logged in and watched the stream but I couldn't join the chat with my in game name. I know there won't be another build stream, but how would I log in with my IGN if there is another stream?

That was awesome! Skydiving looks like one of those things that lasts forever and is over too fast! Will you do jump again?

Hi.
I try to read all the new posts, but sometimes I miss new posts because they do't show up any more on the new post list. I  know I could check each topic looking for new posts, but sometimes time is short and I just want to get to mining/building! Would it be possible to have a scroll bar added to the new post list on the home page?

Thanks for reading, Craftymatt13

She's really cute, even when she is crying. So she calmed down when you held her?  She already likes her uncle Birdman!  :D

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Mobs in the mining world
« on: 10 May 2013, 02:36:29 »
Personally,  like the mobs. I mine 'em for exp! It was dull when the were gone.  :/  Sure, it's bad when a creeper or two go off unexpectedly behind you, but then that's what keeps the game fun.

Cool! Looks like the boots and maybe the helmet are enchanted. Now if she would only drop the full set, undamaged, when you kill it!

Maybe I missed something, it wouldn't be all that surprising, but... Horses? When were they released? I thought they were going to be in a future release. If they have been let out of the stall, why aren't they here on the server? If they haven't been released, how are they in V6? Or is this such an awesome server that Mojang is letting Fatnoob and company play with them early?

Other / Re: Classic Video Games, Or Modern Video Games?
« on: 30 Apr 2013, 01:30:04 »
Hmm, ya'lls definitions of classics is modern to me.  :O

I like the older games, like Tempest, Asteroids, Donkey Kong etc. but the RIGHT modern game is better. I like role playing (like MC), God games (like Pharaoh and Sim City) and strategy games (like Galactic Civilizations) but they need more computer power (last 10 years or so) to be really interesting. The true classics are fun, but I just can not "get into" them like I used to. I have several disks with collections of classic games on them that my daughter (12 at the time) was able to beat in days. It's not the age of the game that is important, it is the game play involved. The classic games that we think about being great are the best games that we played. We are forgetting about the 500,000 junk games that were out for each awesome game. A Great game is a Great game whether it is Pong or some game yet to be released.

Oh, my God. That girl, she could be my daughter. Right after she wakes up. So sad that all her life goes into a trash bag  :'(  every time she has to leave. Wow. I think I will look locally for an organization to donate to. She even has the same outfit...

As the final date for V6 approaches, will any notice be given for the Big Day or will we log on and find V6?

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: mobs in the mining world?!?
« on: 17 Apr 2013, 18:00:13 »
I like the mobs. They do get annoying at times since my build is an unintentional monster spawner and there are times I spend more time clearing mobs than building. I think the mobs were turned off due to the lag they created. Seems like the mobs returned shortly after the site was moved to the new server.

« on: 16 Apr 2013, 19:13:43 »
Wow. There has been a lot of construction in the wilderness since the first map was generated. Looks like a few people are laying out towns to get some practice and ideas to be Mayors/TA in V6.

I don't think two days is excessive, but anyway, here's a suggestion. Try JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Start with The Hobbit then The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and finally The Return of the King. I'm not sure how old you are, but I read these books in 5th grade (about 12 years old). They may take more than two days, but are well worth it. I understand they were made into movies a few years back   :3.
Enjoy!

Other / Re: Some stuff that's been on my mind..
« on: 11 Apr 2013, 06:09:43 »
No, I don't really have this concern, just a similar schedule-
1) I work 40+hours a week
2) I'm at the gym 2-3 hours 2-5 times/week
3) I MAKE dinner several times a week for a 5 and 18 year old and wife, then help them with their homework
I'm not in the top 10 for anything, but I haven't ruled it out  :D
I play here instead of watching my required American average 3 hours of TV (take that advertisers)
This is a GAME, nothing more, nothing less. I have fun playing. That is all. 8|

Here are a few things I keep in mind when I play. Vet is worth nothing but VET in front of your name, cool yes, but of no other use. Tokens will get you stuff in V6. I get tokens by leveling up, not by being in the top 10. I like some things better than others-I like to mine and farm. So I focus on those for levels and tokens. Maybe I'll make top 10, maybe I won't, oh well. I don't care about acrobatics, (just means you fall a lot  :)) BUT I know others love this skill. Go for it, I say, fall down some more!Have fun!

And nebih, like you, I mean this in no harmful way.

Music / Re: Strangest song/music video?
« on: 31 Mar 2013, 18:29:08 »
I dunno about these videos. I still think  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jTmMU6sMgM#ws Is probably the strangest since it wasn't trying to be strange. It was released in 1979, before the internet showcased weird, before MTV (the real MTV that played music all the time) and before VCRs were common (I saw it in the theater). It's 1.5 hrs long, so it isn't really a video. It required an attention span.  ;) For shorter videos, there's this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcmgI_kgPhM#  Give it till about 1:30. It's not fast paced, just weird in its concept and delivery. Enjoy!

Noobstown General / Re: Any Set Date For V6 Yet?
« on: 29 Mar 2013, 23:22:54 »
Many people in game says 2 months, some says 1 month... and it is kinda confusing me :L

Can a Admin give some sort of date? Or at least something better then 1 month, 2 months.. you know what I mean :3

Only reason I would like a set date, is so I know when to be on the server, I am very busy with work, so having a date would be nice :)

Summer 2013, no exact date can be given at this time. There is lots to do!

Summer 2013? Would this be the Northern Hemisphere's summer or Southern Hemisphere's Summer? LOL  3:)

I would like to land the parachute on top of the Arch and swing down! If I have to choose one, I'll take the parachute.

Would you rather eat an uncooked pork chop or an uncooked steak?

You're both right!
Miner_man is looking at the Forum Stats and sombrerodude is looking at the Game Stats. According to the numbers on the Game Stats, it will be about 15.6 days until 30000.

Server Announcements / Re: The Next Generation of Noobscraft!
« on: 18 Mar 2013, 05:04:35 »
OH NO NOT A RESET!! THIS is horrible!!
All my Noobz...All my chests...my build...GONE!

Seriously, this sounds like a great opportunity for all. As for as losing every thing, oh well. When I joined in Sept, I had nothing. I can do this again. I played single player for a long time before going online.

Love the idea of a grief free wilderness world. The Mods spend way too much time dealing with griefs (they shouldn't have to deal with it at all, stinking griefers-there are servers that allow griefing). I have one question about the separation of town and wilderness and the grief protection- Why join a town? What advantages will there be to joining a town? The server messages in chat only mention grief protection.

Still, the opportunity to be a part of a Town re-founding Team could be pretty cool. I played single player before joining, and I have played pretty much single player and the server. I seem to have passed over the fun of interacting with my fellow minecrafters. Maybe this server change will change my playing style as well.

If I understand correctly, the server shop will be gone completely. Bummer, that was a handy way to ditch cobble will mining and make a little cash. and stone. and dirt. and gravel. With the auction system, I guess it will be like everybody having a shop.

The world map is really neat. I see what is meant by crowded. I see why I had a tough time finding a place for my build. It will make finding a build site easier. And easier to drop in on friends. and easier to find a new friend whose build is on the other side of the mountain. There sure is a lot of water in the main world.

One more thing- The server tracks our cash, the blocks we place, what we have in chests, when we joined. When the server resets, would it be possible for the server to total up everyone's individual total net worth? A "final score" if you will? Not that it really matters, but it would be fun to see what I accumulated and my average daily income. How many pick axes I made. How many times I died. How many time I teleported. Whatever the server tracks that could be re-distributed to us would be cool.

I'm sure this will be a lively topic for the next couple of months. Looking forward (nervously) to the change-over.

Server Announcements / Re: Don't Update Yet!
« on: 14 Mar 2013, 16:57:13 »
The first update I went through, I didn't realize the server didn't update right away, so I updated. oops. The next update, I left the computer while Minecraft loaded and my daughter updated thinking she was helping. Now she knows, and knowing is half the battle! Some people may play on multiple servers, and others may play single player to get experience with the update before the server updates.

Also, if you hold shift while falling, you have a chance of a Graceful Landing.

I did not know that.  :P  I knew about diamonds from dirt   :)  and the auto smelt of iron and gold is annoying. >:(  What other tricks and abilities are there as you level up through the different skills?  :O
