Categories are a great idea, and they wouldn't need to be that complicated either. If you sell, the rule could be that you have to put it in the correct category yourself. Just in case doing that with a plugin or whatever is too much of a hassle.

That church is beautiful. I feel like the black and white is a waste of potential for the shot in particular though, the stained glass could make it even better. Assuming it's stained, I can't tell :P

Can confirm, spam the respawn button. It fixed it when this happened to me once or twice. It can be frustrating but eventually you'll get it.

So, as many of us think that the published reason for neutralizing beacons in the wild is completely invalid, and complain on here to the probable and understandable annoyance of the admins, I'm going to continue the tradition.

Give us effectual wild beacons.

One idea that comes to mind, and which has probably been proposed before, is making the ability to place effective beacons in the wild a purchasable donation perk. For 5 or 10 pounds/dollars/whatever, the member can have effectual beacons in the wild.

I think this satisfies both positions. Those to whom effectual beacons are worth such a trivial sum can have them, the server gets supported a little more, and this will place an artificial bottleneck on the amount of people who actually have them, meaning that there will be a much smaller chance of (imagined and thus far unencountered) problems arising from effects leaking over onto someone else's chunks.

So, there. Feel free to voice your support/condemnation of this idea.

Class name: Personal Trainer
Kit:
- Protein Shake (Potion of Strength 2)
- Boxing glove (apple or something with a sharpness enchant to make it somewhat useful, but not like a sword)
- Gatorade (Potion of Regeneration)
- Healthy Snack (Golden apple, the regular kind, not enchanted)
- Trainers (leather boots with feather falling 2)
- Track pants (leather pants)
- Sweatband (leather cap with protection 2 because why not)
- Feel the burn! (potion of fire resistance, i guess to help with blazes)


A support class, "motivates" other classes with his strength potions and KO's zombies with his fists of iron and deflects arrows with his buns of steel.

There are serious uses for beacons in the wild. The wild is the only viable place to build a giant monster mega farm, and a constant speed 2 buff would increase harvesting speed, which increases the size a farm needs to be to be able to constantly harvest.

For instance, my wild plot is just a giant farm with a living area on top. I wanted to include beacons when i outfitted it for potatoes a long time ago. Without beacons, i could have 3-4 62x62 layers all growing potatoes, with the bottom layer regrown by the time i finished the top, allowing a constant harvest. With a constant speed 2 buff, i could have broken and replanted those potatoes much faster, requiring more levels to be added to keep up the constant harvest ability. The lack of beacons limited the max production of my farm, and that's just the speed 2 buff. There are sure to be other people whose mode of income could be improved with some other buff provided by a beacon.

Also, I have no neighbors. Nobody has any neighbors, as floris pointed out before.

Please, for the sake of obscenely high profit margins and wanton, planet-killing industrialism, enable beacons in the wild!

I wonder how many people really have close neighbours - and how many of those really would be bothered by the effects. The wilderness world is big, this probably only affects the 'temporary' players that don't walk for more than 30 seconds away from wild's spawn. Now with the /wild go command I am sure even more are spread out and therefor less are that close to eachother. The 'regulars' that actually make up for the online activity of the server usually do not live near (especially not with a reach of max 50 of the center of a beacon) to have any effect to others nearby. I always find it a shame that those who are regular and are active, can't enjoy the little things because of some newbie who plays for 3 hours and then never again. Maybe that's just how I see it. But with a combination of 50 plots average per regular/active player (from what I can tell talking to in-game players) I really do not think it's actually a problem.

I am going to call your bluff and just ask to turn them on and have a better experience for those who are active. And curious to see if we will notice any complaints at all. My (and many others) their neighbours are the ones on /wild friends list, why would they complain in the first place.

Totally agree. I can't imagine anyone complaining about this in the first place to make disabling them necessary, much less enough complaining to justify ruining it for everyone else. I think it's a nonexistent problem.

I think they need to make a castle map too. One that's designed not to be kind of all over the place, but kind of a directional assault by mobs onto a fortification. Archers could place themselves at battlements, tanks could form a line at the door, breaches might be opened  by "catapults" periodically to make the defense harder. You would have to fall back to the keep eventually and make a final stand, to protect the "king" (a villager or group of villagers).

It would be like a huge battle, like from LOTR or something. I know it sounds kind of difficult to implement, but even just a map where they come from one direction and it feels like there's a battle line, and archers and other classes can be used to their max potential. that would take team strategy, rather than "everyone go tank" which seems to be the best strategy BY FAR.
