Hey all! With 1.8 being released, we thought it'd be an awesome idea for Ethereal to have a town banner! Something we can display around town to show Ethereal pride. So we're having a contest!!

First, create your banner that you think would look good around town! Banners can seem complicated, so I recommend using banner maker online to help you figure it out. This one is pretty easy to figure out so give it a go. http://www.needcoolshoes.com/banner

Second, create your banner in the game. Then take it to the Ethereal spawn and put it in the hopper on the left by the E banner. Message me, ecctv, a description of the banner so I know it is yours. Or you can post a picture in this thread!

The last day to get your submission in will be FRIDAY JUNE 12. The following week voting will begin, I'll explain that later. The WINNER will get a special prize of 16 diamonds and credit for designing our town's flag.

I'd been wondering where you were! Sorry about the virus.

Which version did you start?:  I have no idea! I guess I had signed onto the server a while ago, then just played single player for the most part, but once I restarted playing in December I only play on the server now.
How did you find us?: Probably planet minecraft.
Most fondest memory inside the server?: I've had lots of good times with my friend Brendend, with whom I'd played Minecraft for a long time, we even went to minecon together! Building with him is always fun. But I've had  lot of fun in Ethereal too with new people.
Building things for the town is great. Putting up the barn in Ethereal for the cow spawner was lots of fun. The best part of building for a town is that you can get recognition from other people and ideas on how to build better.
And roleplaying with pizzagirl99 is fun too. She'll pretend to be running a little store at the Ethereal Boardwalk and I'll order. It is fun acting like a total kid again!

I really don't know how the whole live server map works so if this isn't possible that's fine. But I was thinking it would be cool if there was a way to mark the towns on the map. Sometimes I may be browsing around and I'll see a cool town but not know what it is called so I can't visit.
I guess one way would be to write it big on the ground so it is visible from the map but I'm curious if there is a way to do it with the map itself. 

I have already talked to you on the server so I'm excited for it to be completed!
