Suggestions & Ideas / Re: NoobsTown Book Store :D
« on: 13 Aug 2012, 03:41:28 »
If allowed, I could be a publisher of books.  I think that this would overwhelm the mods as they deal with more important things, but I would love to do it!

As well, I would like to write some survival guides myself, and am making an Oakvale Manual for new town members in the future.

Thanks,
Fish_james

Towns & Nations / Re: Oakvale (unofficial recruiting post)
« on: 13 Aug 2012, 01:33:48 »
Update on the town:

WE are currently not making any new plots in the main part of town, and have stopped expansion until a few other projects are complete.

Here are the list of things that I would like to finish first:

1. The spawn for the residential outposts so we can START making plots and to recruit new people to town.

2.  Finish the Greenhouse

3.  Make the mountain of newbs

4.  Claim the rest of land around town

If any houses are foreclosed however, you are welcome to jump in and take a foreclosed plot.

Thanks,
Fish_james

Hello Minkz96,

Yesterday, I briefly introduced myself, but did not really have a chance to ask questions and to get to know you a little better.  I work a full time job at the moment, on top of trying to get some college stuff figured out before the year.  On top of that, I just bought a new car and I am trying to fix up a few things on the physical car, along with legal things like insurance, tags, etc.

Anyways, I am glad you have decided to become a fellow Oakvalian!  Oakvale staff has some big plans in the future for the town, and you can be a big part of building it, if you would like.  If you want to get more involved, if some others have not told you in town, you can join our forums (information on the board at /t spawn).

If you have any questions, just pm me or send me a forum message on oakvales' forums or noobstowns'. :D

Fish_james,
Mayor of Oakvale

sure thing.  All you have to do is ask me in game to add you to the town.  If I am not on, ask Mitch_182 or any other assistants in town.  Do /town Oakvale to see the assistants, or just look at the board at town spawn.

Thank you for your interest in the town!

Other / Re: Nether Portal
« on: 3 Aug 2012, 21:43:24 »
the tiny (microscopic size)  problem of having to use the one at spawn isn't nearly as big of a problem if there were more Nether portals, as that would only cause the nether to lag tons.

I've been trying to get on for about 45 minutes now. I restarted my computer, and checked the status of minecraft.

All it says when I try to refresh is 'communication error', but I still have connection to the internet.

And on the website http://xpaw.ru/mcstatus/ it shows the mc status, and says that 'snoop' is out.  Could you explain what snoop being out means? Thanks whoever is willing to help me out. :D

I love how the Admins do not use there abilities to give them ahead of the game and mess up the market, most servers it seems that way.

Also, the maturity on the servers admins are amazing, and makes me stick around and WANT to stay. I have no intentions on going anywhere, thanks to small details like that!

I just want to say to all of the Admins of the server, thank you for your hard work and trying to get 1.3.1 running as soon as possible.

I've been to servers (before) and they just don't show the same kind of interest as you guys, and I really appreciate it.  It is one of the main reasons I stick around, and still enjoy this awesome and STILL improving server.

Market Place / Re: Workers for Hire *Large Project in Place*
« on: 1 Aug 2012, 07:31:26 »
I sincerely apologize for the month delay response on here.

if you were curious on what the project was,  It was the town Oakvale.

We now have around 100 people as residents, 3 outposts, 6 great Town Assistants, and around 500k in the town bank.  Thank you EVERYBODY who made this achievable

*LARGE PROJECT IN PLACE* was a success.

.... So this topic is now LOCKED

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN NEW WORK, WE ARE WORKING ON A NEW OUTPOST FOR RESIDENTS!!! MESSAGE ME IN GAME IF INTERESTED AT ALL!!

Good day,

Server Announcements / Re: 1.3 Announcement
« on: 31 Jul 2012, 05:33:30 »
I probably am going to update to get away for a few days, get a feel of 1.3, and then come back, ready, with some big plans in mind with the new update.

I honestly don't think it is even necessary to put another plugin into something that doesn't need it, like people have already said.   And I have seen a LOT of towns created lately, and feel like 300k might even too low to make a  town now.

Site Announcements / Re: Voting just got easier!
« on: 23 Jul 2012, 03:02:01 »
I love how the new voting system was put into place, as it brings people to the forum side of the community, which will hopefully start getting more people involved on the forums and not just on the physical server!

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: VIP
« on: 23 Jul 2012, 02:58:07 »
I don't feel like buying a years worth of  VIP, or a week or a day is neccessary.  I am very proud to donate to this server monthly and will keep doing so as long as I have the income to pay for it.

If you want to know if you would like VIP, I would personally say that I love and recommend it!   They have done very well balancing the commands so that you are not too powerful, but give just a little more flexibility with your gameplay.  My favorite parts of VIP are having the title VIP, the /j (jump) and /descend commands, and the VIP Shop.

Thanks for your time,

Fish_james

If you want people to stay out of your house, put locks on your doors/gates.

You can do this with lwc commands.  Type /lwc to see the list of commands and type /cprivate and left click the door/gate to make it private, where only you and mods/admins can open it after that.

Besides that, there is nothing.  One of the reasons is that you are living in the wild and are taking a risk to not live in a town.  Another problem is that if people could claim land, people would be claiming land for themselves (free at charge is what it sounded that you were saying) all around towns and in different areas just to get off of the server. Then towns would be limited and couldn't expand just because a person gets on for one day, claims land RIGHT outside town, and then leaves the server, never to return. I see this as being more of a problem for the mods than just rolling back griefed places.

Thanks for hearing my opinion out,

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: New shop channel in chat
« on: 23 Jul 2012, 01:28:07 »
Another Idea for trading is putting in a plugin to do manual trade, instead of drop-trade.  I only say this because some people don't like chestshops and ask to drop trade instead, but people cannot be trusted at times, which causes more issues.  I've seen a plugin where when you left click on somebody, or something similar to that, it sends them a request to trade.  If they accept, a trade screen opens up, on one side is what you will be trading, on there side is what they will be trading.  Press the green wool to accept the trade, and the red wool to deny the trade.  I thought this would be a very useful tool in this server, just my idea :)

*Hint:  I'm not sure what the plugin is called, but i could do some research and find out if requested to do so

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: A "Mature Gamer" Zone?
« on: 23 Jul 2012, 00:42:49 »
The problem is with this being a family friendly server, is that parents are allowing their children to roam freely on the server and forums, trusting that there is no innapropriate subjects going on.  If they have the 'choice' to go onto inappropriate areas of the website, this would no longer be a family friendly server where parents could trust their children to go.

Wonton, you were temporarily banned because you sand mined RIGHT outside of town, and that is obviously a rule for the town.  *Hint:  If you do any mining, go to the Mining world.  This should be your lesson of your temporary ban put into place.

Let us keep this post on topic and talk about the town, and not bans please.  That includes you as well burnfireblaze100.

Much appreciated,

« on: 20 Jul 2012, 05:32:45 »
There was indeed, a minecraft wedding.

Two Oakvale resident's got married in the local church in town, Leafstorm732 and Destinygirl.

As the priest and the photographer of the wedding, I was obliged to make a forum post about the event.

Instead of going on about it, I will just post a couple of pictures, and let you folks go on about your day. Congrats guys! :)

About to go into my second year of college, I have learned that some people in college are even more immature than quite a few younger teenagers I know.  Proving the  point that maturity in all reality does not have an age limit.

Besides, I would rather not deal with 'mature' topics on this server, and focus on other things.

Good day to you all!

Sorry for responding so late, but if you still have not joined a town deathfactor, just send me a message in game by typing /mail send fish_james (your message here) and I will invite you to town as soon as servers are back online.  Come check the town out by typing /t spawn oakvale if you want to check it out :D

If I am not online, message Mitch_182 or Leafstorm732 and they can invite you as well.
