Hello there, it is nice that we are gaining very respectful people to this wonderful server. If you see me in game, don't be afraid to ask any questions about the server, or even to just say hello!
Be well,

This is good! I had left for a while to come back in fear that my name was logged on, fearing that my account had been hacked. Good news my account is safe at least, but I do wish to play.

I've waited for around 5 or 6 hours now (i think) to give noobscraft time and see if it will reconnect, but nothing. All it says when I attempt to log in is 'Connection lost: end of stream'. I can get on other servers, and this is the only one that doesn't even show a connection bar, it shows an X instead and says communication error. I've attemped to redownload minecraft by removing it completely, and going on the minecraft.net to redownload it. still nothing. I also reconnected the server, and checked multiple times if it was the right IP address. (which it had to be right, because i was playing and suddenly got cut off while on the server, saying connection lost)
I've never seen this before, and am thinking it is something on the servers' side. Although, it's weird because other people are on at the moment, so it is just me. Help as soon as possible would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Hello,
This is a followup on the project. I am sadly not going to be able to continue with NURT at this time, because recently after I was accepted to the Disney Internship program, in which I leave in just a little over a month. I have been preparing, but sadly don't have enough time to focus on Minecraft. If anyone is willing to start this program, I have NO PROBLEMS with it, as I still think it has very good potential.
Apologies,

I hear you, Fish. Real life catches up with all of us sometimes. (Now where are those resumes I need to send...) I'll send you a /tp request next time I see you on. I don't think I've seen Oakvale in its entirety yet. By the way, thank you so much for starting this topic!
Well it was nice meeting you ummfred and showing off Oakvales Head Builder (Omega1291)! I'm trying to get on more, and with my new project I am trying to start up, I have more of a reason to log on! Like I said on that forum post, I will be gone next week for 7 days because I'm going camping for a week, but after that I should be getting on more often as I have less homework now! I hope we get to talk more and I hope your story grows the longer you are a Noob

I'm glad to see people are interested in NURT!
To correct some peoples misconception of the whole point of the organization and a few people understood what I meant. But just to clear things up;
- We aren't promoting destroying old buildings unless permission from an admin.
- We are going to focus on the Main World, NOT the mining world.
- You don't need money to help! All you need to do is volunteer to help and I will supply you the best I can.
And a side note to the people opposing the idea; I appreciate that you believe it is pointless, but there are two reasons why I MAINLY am doing this.
1. It spreads the idea of the betterment of something other than yourself, which in return makes you feel good (along with practicing good techniques like destroying the last wood block in trees/replanting or using the mining world to quarry a desert)
2. EVERY BIT COUNTS! I understand, along with others, that there is no possible way to fix everything, obviously. Just like in real life, people volunteer to, let us say, pick up trash. Every bit helps, and if nobody helps the problem just gets worse. The thing is if we could fix up a large area, a new town could arise. OR the outside of spawn, we could at least fix it so it doesn't look like a stone - covered post apocalypse area. (This will promote new players, who usually go into this area, to stay on the server and not think it is an unmanaged server. I only say this because new players HAVE said this. ).
Krazzylegs, Minkz, and anybody else who would like to help, I will be working ASAP on this to organize our first project, and hopefully getting pictures up by sunday. Sadly, I will be gone for a week camping starting this Monday, so DON'T THINK THE PROJECT IS ABANDONED HAHA! I would love for you to keep discussing it, and will most likely be able to check the forums, due to me having to get on a little for my online classes.
When the first project is getting close to starting and we get a central location to store the donated items for the projects, I will send a PM to anyone who is interested, which I will see who is according to what you post under this forum.
Thank you again for the support, and keep pitching your ideas!! At the central location, most likely my house, I will put up a suggestion board as well.
Something else I just thought up is that we should promote the places we restore for someone to start a town/ make a home
Thanks,

This idea has been in my head for quite sometime, and finally has come together where I feel I will do a good job leading this Organization. Now I have heard a LOT of people who want to help the server, so they apply as mods but sometimes get it, although they still want to help the server out. Well, here is a GREAT opportunity to show you really want to help the server out.
- What name we live under
At the moment, it is Called NURT: (Noobs United to Restore and Thrive) if you have a better name, pitch the idea here on the comments!
- The Issue
If you have looked around the server, there are places in the main building world that are destroyed; places where a new town could thrive, and it has saddened me. Examples are whole deserts dug out for miles to stone, whole forests deforests and all that is left are HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of floating trees; also Mine shafts that are dug to the bottom of the Minecraft world.
- What we are here for
We are here to Restore and Thrive, meaning that we will go around in either groups or alone, fixing the main world.
1. Replanting Forests/ taking down floating trees
2. Fixing a desert so it is at least viewable
3. Replacing dirt from griefing holes
4. Covering up giant Mine Shafts in the middle of the Main World
5. Spreading smart ideas, like going to the Mining World to mine and not leave floating trees around.
6. Take donations so that we can pay people to repair more of Noobstown/ buy more supplies to fix Noobstown.
I will be needing a few leaders along me who deal with the money and organizing the workers and projects. I am putting all of my money in this if I get enough support, and will be gathering all the supplies I CAN to get this thing started. If we get a big enough group, I would love to do group projects to have fun while fixing things.
For extra fun, if we do a big project, I want to post a before and after picture of each project we do, and it will be an awesome feeling. I hope you think this is a great idea, I would love some support and feel this is a very needed thing to do on the server.
NOTE: PLEASE POST BELOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE/ HELP OUT SO I CAN GET IN CONTACT WITH YOU ASAP
From,
Fish_james Founder of Oakvale

Very interesting story ummfred~! I haven't been on lately with some issues irl and way too busy, but I would love to meet you in game, I am a TA in Oakvale. The TA's are a little inactive right now for real life issues, and two of them just quit as TA so it is a little inactive right now. But if I ever start playing MC more again, I would love to talk, as I love a nice chat with new fellow Noobs Be well, Fish_James

I like and live by the old cliche' "If I only knew then what I know now".
Stuff to remember (these are based on my own opinions, but some of it is just plain ol' common sense):
1. Be yourself, don't pretend to be something you are not (yes you will hear this alot but it's VERY true). 2. Make her laugh. 3. Be considerate of her feelings at all times. 4. Listen to her (don't just nod, really listen to what she's saying). 5. Be respectful, always (goes with #3). 6. Girls do not care if you are nervous, they are too. 7. If you decide you want to ask her out, be open with her and just ask out right. 8. Remember the small things. 9. Get to know her friends too. They are just as important to her.
The list goes on forever (yes, I missed alot) and trust me, this is good advice.
This is probably your best bet, I think AmicableJ knows what he is talking about.

I don't lock things up inside, that is a whole different story. Especially since its the internet.
And I wasn't referring to that post when I said that, nor did I say your name, pal.

I've been playing Minecraft for about 2 weeks now. I joined Noobstown a little over a week ago, and this is my first time to play outside of single player. At that time I had no idea that individual towns even existed. After reading several forums and server reviews, I decided to settle down in Noobstown. I feel that I made a great choice. The support is great, and everyone is extremely friendly and honest.
I've played MMO's for roughly 10-12 years now and have beta'd 100's of them (everything from AO to WoW). At first I was hesitant to play Minecraft because of the throwback graphics and interface. My nephew plays, and always talks about it so I decided to give it a shot. Instantly the game felt vaguely familiar and reminiscent of 90's FPS which I love. Needless to say, I'm addicted.

That is great! Just curious, but have you joined a town yet or what are your goals on your server so far?

I won't get as personal as some of you have on here, but my only tips are to not be nervous when around them and act like she is a person too, it helps a lot.

I don't think my story is very interesting but MEH
I found Noobstown searching through Planet Minecraft after I was exploited on another server by my "friend", who asked me to help him build & flatten/claim land for his town. I spent thousands, and went through numerous diamond tools & resources, only to find out had no intention of making me a co-owner because he would have preferred his other friend to become a co-owner, Spooky, who hadn't yet joined the server after the 1.3 update. I was upset and dissappointed, but I thought it best to move on from the server and start a new life on another
Noobscraft seemed to be a popular server, so I checked it out and followed the instructions to become a member. When I logged back in after being notified of my membership, ohlookawall immediately greeted me and offered to give me a tour of the town she resided in- Oakvale. When I saw the town spawn, I was amazed by the complexity and design of the buildings surrounding me. I wanted to join Oakvale straight away! I waited for a mayor/TA to come online so I could be invited to town
I introduced myself on here, made great friends on the server, built my house in the wilderness alongside ohlookawall's amazing house, built a restaurant for Oakvale, built a mining shop in town, explored, survived the numerous bugs following the update & socialised :-)
That's my boring story :L Hopefully it grows as I spend longer on the server. I'm really enjoying my time here!

I hope there will be more stories to tell in the future . That reminds me, I need to talk to you about a 'project', which you soon could add to the story. Thanks, Fish_james Mayor of Oakvale

I don't know if you saw in the general chat, but I believe someone sells a lot of dirt at Cliffside's main shop near there spawn. Sourmonkey something sells the dirt I believe.

/town mayor only shows the main commands that you can use, there are many more not listed from /town mayor, there are even more that aren't listed above.
