Server Announcements / Re: Server Downtime
« on: 24 Feb 2014, 15:36:27 »
I'm thinking by this time, the IT guys have finally checked their emails. Having been informed of the problem, there is much yelling, finger pointing and CYA going on. Our true american style. BUT ... no one has really looked at the problem.
If they would, they would discover the cleaning lady accidentally turned the power off when dusting the server closet ...

Or its a telecom issue and no one knows who is responsible for the telecom since its all contracted to contractors who contracted to MOM and POP Telecom, who contracted to India, who subcontracted back to the USA, who then hired the original contractor........

Support / Authentication Servers
« on: 14 Feb 2014, 03:16:26 »
this isn't so much a noobstown question as it is a MC question.

In the evenings around 19:00 Pacific time, when I try to connect to any server I get a message saying that the Authentication Servers are down for maintenance.  I get past the launcher no problem, its when I try to connect to a server that I get this message.

Does anyone know how long this maintenance is for? or where I can read about it.  I have searched the MC forums and of course Google, but no dice.

IMO its a little frustrating that this happens every single night.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Keep repair difficult.
« on: 11 Feb 2014, 01:15:32 »
Imo there is difficult, then there is beyond difficult.  Current its beyond difficult, unless there is some glitch that is not giving me repair skill points.  I mean I have been repairing stone tools for two days now and I have gotten 1 point.  Imnot saying make it super easy, but something is up.

sorry to bump this, but I think that my question 2 posts up may have been lost in the midst of all the posts about v6 stuff.

Are you able to post the top 10 per skill vs just the top 10's in 1 list.

I was pretty sure I was top 10 for fishing but don't see my name listed anywhere.

Most Dr.s will tell you that you won't get so many nosebleeds if you just kept your finger out of there! LOL

Support / Re: What is V6?
« on: 22 Dec 2013, 18:49:49 »
well you will have to read a little bit more, but basically at the last bday party - Feb isn - V6 was announced.

It has taken the team a while to build everything to give an entire new world to everyone.

Just as we were about to enjoy V6, MC releases 1.7 and bukkit basically breaks.  So the team has been waiting on Bukkit to get a new version out for NT to use.

And there you have it 10 months of history in 2-3 sentences.

Hang tough, hopefully mid Jan we will be enjoying the world again.

well I did everything I could think of last night....and MC is finally working.

I cleared the Java cache
reinstalled MC
rebooted my router, modem, switch and mac
then I noticed that for some reason MC was mounted as a device, I turned that off and now its working....slow but working.

whew....now come on V6

i will try rebooting all my network gear later tonight to see if that helps.

I suspect its a mac issue since I can log on with my winblows computer fine.

looking for some advice.

for the past few days my MC launcher appears to be trying to update something, but the progress bar goes just past the word PLAY and then stops.  Nothing for quite a while.

thoughts or ideas?

Thanks

I'm just going to ask that everybody calms down a bit. The server will be released, all will be well, just give it time. There are certain things in life that can't be helped and this is one of them. If this post gets out of hand, I'm going to lock it. I would also like to remind everyone that threatening to leave the server is against the rules, and simply causes unneeded drama. If you have an issue with anything, it is better to speak directly to the admins than to vent where everyone can see. Please take this all into consideration and make sure you are within the rules with anything/everything you are doing. Thanks.

i hate to be the one to object to this, but bleh! i have read through the rules and im not really seeing anything on the "threatening to leave the server" thing. i would really like to see that rule, not trying to be a smart aleck or a troll in any way but i seriously want to see that rule, or just a copy of the forum rules...

Just because I like to stir the pot.....you cannot threaten to leave the server....when there is none...?!?

played for years, from vanilla.  quit in Feb to play MC.

at one point I was top 20 for mages in PVP, but got tired of them being ignored (and also the fact that warriors could heal better then my priest) and the game got tiresome for me.  So I quit.

watched Star Trek Into Darkness last night.....good show.

Has anyone gone to see Enders Game yet?  The book was very good.

95
I would post my halloween skin but I am afraid it would scare all the children!

ps its a skin of DadJaeger! muwahahahahaha

I still think that the new Bushido should be called:

DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Jaeger!

97
As you already know myself and Slimer will be there.

I plan on using the 3k tokens from AQW to assist me in helping the town! LOL

1. Pang...not pong...Pang, for a simple game in design and object it was incredibly addicting for me

2. Ultima 7 - If I remember correctly this was the version where you played the monsters instead of the heroes (might have been Ultima 4...cant remember since I'm older the Jaeger!)

3. Street Fighter - nuff said

maybe its not the MAC, I tried my windblown box and it won't even log me in - says servers are offline.  I can't even get to minecraft.net so that may be it.

when I am done work later I will reboot all my network gear and see if that changes anything.

Thanks guys!
