Well I am active as you can see and because we are friends  .
Please be more specific with these two. Also, we cannot play favorites, unfortunately, when it comes to the management of the town - being part of town staff is a large responsibility.

So, I was browsing the forums lately, and I thought - wouldn't it be great if us members all contributed to a joined guide for newcomers?
Well, that wasn't my thought exactly, but you get the point.
This is going to be a little different. Basically, anyone can add a little tip directed at the newer Noobs to help them out on their journey.
I'll start:
Don't rush.
Make sure to collect plenty of resources in the Mining World. Vote with /vote every day, and have patience. Let your money rise slowly, and don't aim too high at first. Make sure to take your time with things like buying Wild Chunks, as there isn't much use selling them even if you found a better location.

Originally, I joined Noobstown after being begged repeatedly by a friend of mine. I finally gave in, mostly so I could help him out with his town. I'm glad I did.
I stick with Noobstown not just because of the server itself, but because of the people online. The staff are all friendly and I've become friends with many people who I'd never have heard of otherwise, from all around the world, within my town and out. Beyond that, the grief-free system is far more effective than that on most servers with the custom 'Chunky' plugin, and the server retains a clean, family-friendly environment, something unfortunately not enforced by many servers.

A little less than a month (three weeks +/- a few days)
How often you are/can be active (ideally every day or two, every three days at most):
I had about a week (Apr. 3-12) when I was less active, but have increased my activity since then to daily.
Previous Experience:
This is my first town on my first town server, therefore, I do not have any experience as town staff.
Staff Position You Want (Architect, Plot Master, TA, etc.):
I would like to apply for the position of Architect.
Why you want to join staff:
I would like to be a part of growing the town into a larger and more established community.
Why we should accept you (EG: I know a few people who could kill you):
I have a good work ethic and will, to the best of my abilities, complete projects by or before the dead line. I also have a growing knowledge of how to construct detailed builds as well as an intermediate working and applied knowledge of redstone.

If towns are to be auctioned off, it shouldn't be at a set price, but instead calculated with certain factors so that smaller towns stand a chance.
Example: [Number of Players in Buying Town] x [Number of Players in Planned Extension] x [Number of Plots in Planned Extension] x [Set Number, Perhaps 1000]

Yes, the resident application is not needed to get in, it is just here so that any wishing to join the town can alert us that they wish to join if we're not online at the time they visit the town.
Of course, we are open to new members at any time, so this is not an application as such - all "applications" will be accepted no matter what (except the staff ones - we will consider those, as it's an important responsibility/ability)
I hope this clears it up, if not, I will certainly remove the resident application from the original post.
Edit: Made above point more evident in original post.
Edit 2 (lol): Removed resident application, replaced it with instructions to /msg or PM us if one wishes to join.

The Amplified warning is because of the amount of blocks it (the game) has to generate in the air and in far more complex patterns. 5x5 Chunks of pre-loaded Amplified should be fine.
(Though I don know what the rules state about height limit)

Personally, I like to avoid the use of texture packs when I build, as I prefer my builds to look good to all without necessary texture changes.
Other than that... I like things like Faithful which stick to normal-like textures, but make them higher definition and with more pixels.

Chapter One: He's Watching You
Some say that Herobrine is greatest villain in Noobstown, and beyond that, Minecraftia.
But he be not. Once, long before Notch implemented time, another was destined to take the role of a villain - to stalk, to creep, and to strike from the shadows.
This man was SLENDOWN.
I know from experience that you should be afraid.
Because he's watching you. No matter where you are. You cannot see him, but he can see you.
Be afraid.
Chapter Two: He's Behind You
A nametag in the corner of your eye.
A flash of cobble texture in the Wintersbreath snow.
An enderpearl flying through the air.
He grows closer.
Look behind you. Nothing? That's what you think.
He is there. He is everywhere. And slowly he approaches.
Eyes narrow, a manical grin on his stone-cold face.(LOL, get it?)
He's here.
He's behind me now.
I have little time to continue writing.
Chapter Three: His Sword is Drawn
The diamond comes out of the blue, blade flashing like the swift and untouchable wind.
There is no way of stopping him.
You may try to defend, but he is too strong, too fast, too cunning.
He teleports into a million positions in a matter of seconds.
There is no escape.
He has me trapped. For weeks now, I have been trapped in this small bunker. But he's found me.
