Hi there Noobstown
I had a slight concern about the clarity in section e in the updated rules. This pertains to swearing. I have taken a direct quote for the new rules post. It is:
Profanity is strictly banned, we have a language filter to block out any swearing; however trying to bypass this filter, by either substituting letters/words or using abbreviations (and so forth) is also against the rules.
I have highlighted the word
"words" because this is the source of my topic. I completely understand swearing to be unacceptable. I also understand abbreviations and such are unacceptable (replacing letters and other forms). However replacing a non-swear word for a swear word is not swearing. The act of swearing is to deliberately communicate a
specific word to express one's emotion, but the main idea is a
specific word. I do not believe using the word "strawberry" in the place of a 4 letter swear word to be bad. Infact it is a mechanism often used to cure little ones of a
potty-mouth.
Having said this, I may have taken section e in the rules out of context. It just did not seem totally clear to me. I also want to add that I comply with and understand the final ruling on this matter is that of the staff (not trying to step on any toes). I also understand that some of these rules may be situational. For the most part, I am simply voicing my concern.
