downgrading 1.3 to 2.5
« on: 1 Aug 2012, 18:40:29 »
Is it possible to do that on a mac? I looked at the other post related to this question but none of the links people posted to downgrade it would work on my computer and I really wanna go on the server... (single player is boring -_-) So yeah, if anyone could let me know if it's possible to downgrade on a mac it would help a lot ^^
Thank you~

I'll get you a link so you can replace 1.3 minecraft.jar with 1.2.5 minecraft.jar file :)

DOWNLOAD: Removed due to Minecraft terms, please do not share downgrade links on the forum.

The download worked, but it doesn't let me open the jar in anything and I don't know which section of my minecraft folder I'd have to put it in if I even have to do that xD

Make sure your minecraft client is closed, put "minecraft.jar" in .minecraft/bin' folder.

Now open minecraft and DO NOT update it to 1.3 if you want to play on the server.

Your welcome, but if you do accidently update when Noobstown is in 1.2.5 still, repeat the steps.

Sorry but the link has been removed, Mojang disapproves of downgrading and it's against their terms. Please to respect Mojang no downgrade links on the forum.

Should i just re-download the entire game?

Do you get an error trying to upgrade at all? Removing minecraft.exe is no help, as its just a launcher for the game.

no, it doesn't give me an option to upgrade at all... I just deleted the entire game application and folder on my computer (minus the world saves and texture packs) and then re-downloaded it and it worked so it's better now ^^

If you have downgraded, great! I can help you in the future as I also use a mac. If you need to upgrade, I find this problem on a mac as well, you can force update your minecraft by clicking "options" above the login button, this is the way to do it on the downloaded version. You think press "force update".
