Random mob spawns
« on: 17 Jul 2012, 04:56:20 »
I know I'm relatively new still, but it's seemed like Mining World has been relatively safe from critters unless they come directly from a spawner, at least until today. Today, twice, while I was deep mining, I had a boat load of critters spawn directly behind me. The first time I saw 3 creepers, 2 zombies and one skeleton. The second time I was near an abandoned mine, and I saw at least 5 cave spiders. I'm guessing something has changed, which in and of itself I don't mind. But I'd like to have a tad more warning than noise, half second to turn around, STAB/BOOM! :)

Just asking if something has changed, what's changed so I can better prepare for it, and report what I encountered on the hopeful chance whatever changed accidentally got set too high. :)

Mobs spawn due to the light level, I dont think they are meant to spawn in the same chunk as you unless its a mob spawner.

That's what I thought myself. I had torches all over the place, so I don't THINK it was the light level. And asking around in game I found other people had the same thing happen. However, it was just that one day, I haven't had it happen since. So I have no clue.
