Log in server down

Apparently the Minecraft central log in servers are down. I've been trying to log in for a bit now, went on over there, and apparently many people are reporting the same thing. No official ETA posted on it yet.

I had no problem logging in. I usually check this site when it's down to see if it's me or them.

That site is reporting a partial service outage. So I'm going to assume that means log in is hit and miss right now.

Thank you. Whatever was blocking my access to the log in server has now cleared up. Joy of joys.

I've been trying to get on for about 45 minutes now. I restarted my computer, and checked the status of minecraft.
All it says when I try to refresh is 'communication error', but I still have connection to the internet.
And on the website
http://xpaw.ru/mcstatus/
it shows the mc status, and says that 'snoop' is out. Could you explain what snoop being out means? Thanks whoever is willing to help me out.

Snoop is the new addition by mojang in the latest release that gathers your pc information and sends it to mojang for statistics purposes.
They are trying to find out what power platforms people are using and what versions of things they are running.
You can opt out. Its in the options
