Is Cartographer the mod that allows you to get a birds eye view of your minecraft save? If so then I'm sure there would be no problem using it because it's a singleplayer mod ;).

Rei's Minimap Mod sounds the same as what you're talking about, I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed, better safe than sorry though so I'd wait for staff to comment.

I think the staff should write a list of all allowed mods. In May, I asked Waterworth if auto tool mods were okay and he said yes. Im not sure if that still stands today though.

Mods are being developed left, right and centre, keeping track off all published mods would be a tough, nearly impossible job, plus, how would the admins know what to look for when finding mods suitable for this server?

As for the "cartographer" I believe that to map out our world like that you require the world files, and is intended for single player worlds, thus I'm not sure how you plan to use it on Noobstown?

I think the staff should write a list of all allowed mods. ...
Our general rule regarding this is that providing that the mod doesn't give you any advantage over any other players who don't have that mod installed and as long as it breaks no other rules then generally it is okay. I would suggest though that if you are planning to add a certain mod which hasn't already explicitly noted down as allowed; that you ask a member of the staff team.

not all but some basic helpful ones would be great.
Our server works perfectly fine without the need for any client-side modding; we aren't going to recommend adding things which you don't need.
