It's not too late, you can still judge the COTM even though its a month late. Or maybe the fact that they locked the topic means they never plan to, which means I wasted my time and money.

I think they are still working on it. I left my December COTM up. It can still be visited too. Lets give them some time. I mean, with Christmas and the new year, things get backed up ya know. Even if for some reason staff is unable to judge for COTM December, they may just give out the free chunk for those who did participate.  So don't worry, if you submitted a COTM post for Dec. within the time limit, you ought to be good.
