University of Noobstown

Version 2 Refit!

Hello everyone!
I am here to announce, after multiple months of the university being closed for renovations, upgrades, and lots of improvements, the time has come to open once again!
I have personally refit almost everything in the university, it has taken a lot of time, thought, and energy to make things much more enjoyable for the staff who are going to be offering their time to teach some very interesting things there, and to the students who are going to be there.

My biggest reasoning for doing this refit is to make the university more capable for hands-on fun learning.
We spend most of our time in regular schools, so what I'm trying to do differently here, is make it easier for hands-on learning.

That is the basic intro to the University, if you are interested in teaching there, or enrolling, or just want to know what has changed in the refit, continue on reading.

General Information

The University has a lot of facilities to suit a wide variety of subjects, some include:

Science lab
Theatre
Study room

Along with regular classrooms that can be changed, expanded, modified to almost anything the subject needs.
(More on this will come as Launch hour approaches)

Facilities

With the food system in minecraft, we see it is very important that fresh yummy food be readily available at all times.(because a starving student is an unfocused one!)
At the university, we provide a great cafetorium with all your favourite food available and stocked ready when ever you need it, grab a bite before class, or after during your study time, always available.

Want to Teach?
If you have a special skill, or are really advanced in a certain subject field (building, redstone, physics, etc),
and would like your own room? Please stop by the university and talk with me, and I'll see if i can accommodate you.

Please do remember that space is very limited and we don't need 10 teachers that teach the same subject (eg Redstone). Also I will take into heavy consideration whether you seem capeable to teach. Are you mature, can handle students/questions, willing to teach on a regular basis.

Would You Like To Study at the University?
Are you interested in enrolling at the university? are you able to conduct yourself in a mature, willing manner?
Then you will probably will end up learning here

We have lots of room and space for students to learn, and an great and refitted facility for you to learn in. As with teachers, please stop by the university and talk to me(Or /mail me if I'm not online) and tell me what you are interested in, and I will see available accommodations I can arrange for you. And please do not post applications for enrolment here.

Final Words
This topic will expand on info as the grand-reopening nears.
I'm sorry it can't be today like i had planned(July 7th) but I have been swamped and have family visiting tomorrow. but it will be very soon, hopefully on Monday

Also I also need to get a way for people to get to the university, but I have to clear it with some staff, so please be patient.

So that's what the University of Noobstown is going to be, and why it has been gone for a few months.

University Refitted

For those wondering what has been refitted at the university, here is a list of the biggest changes or additions to the university:

Completely redid, and moved the cafetorium to fit and feed more people(Now on floor 1)
Removed the old auditorium, and built a huge, more efficient one! Now can fit 4x the people, and it has completely controllable lighting system(Now in the Underground)
Added the Observatory, a new room at world hight to see the moon and sun at different perspectives, also lets you see a lot more around you(Entrance on roof)
Renovated the room where the old auditorium was, now there is a great, ambient study room, with windows to see across the water, and very calm lighting(2nd floor, room 2003)
Added and extension to the third floor, a nice lounge to study or relax when you don't have any classes
Redid all the lighting in the University with pot lights, to make it less hard and bright on the eyes, and more ambient too.
Also redid the entire stair network for the first-3rd floor stairs, now a spiral stair design, and new lights

These are the main ones, there are lots of small changes that help improve the University experience.

I will update the topics as soon as i get things more solidified, but here is the scoop:

No teachers
No Way of getting there aside from /tpa
No Students
I Will post a roster of all the enrolled students and teachers as soon as possible, and the timetable of the current subjects being taught aswell.

You can teach and be a student too, as long a your classes don't crossover .

I will consider any subjects you are willing to teach

What does teaching involve and how will it be done? so it does not fill up the chat logs.

I would be willing to teach a Noobstown 101 course - a basic commands course.

do we post a class shedule -for the times we are having a class, like in a forum post? people can attend the scheduled time?

i experiment daily with redstone and pistons and can create many things

i would like to be a Professor of mechanics in this University

Do you now what classes there are to Teach? Im ok with redstone and building, but I want to teach something that I am more of an expert at.

I could teach Commands, or just an overall welcome to Noobstown course where I could Teach the basics of McMMO, how to make money, Towns, ChestShops, stuff of that Nature. That way I could have a lot to teach.

Someone could teach how to level up skills more efficiently. As in Mcmmo. Maybe I can teach some redstone, even as a learning guy. I know a fair amount of rules in redstone, so I could do it. Otherwise, I'll just be the creepy dude who walks around.

Is this academy still open?

If so, I would love to be a business teacher. Basically, teach any ways of making money, being smart with your money, organizing (chests, etc), planning, looking for the best deals, running a business and having workers, etc.

Also, if there would be a small class of how to run a town, I could teach commands and what it takes to run a town.
