V6 top 100 not fair to students!?!
« on: 21 Mar 2013, 03:52:43 »
Hey all, I just wanted to see if anyone agrees with me. So I don't really think the whole top 100 active players get the "sweet buffs". I mean we don't get all day like some other people. I seem to get some extra playing time, so I am trying to manage staying in the top 100, but it just doesn't seem fair. I just want everybody to think about it and see YOUR opinions
Thanks have a nice day
-Tom

I'm trying not to be scalding but I feel as though the saying "misery loves company" would be attributable to the situation. The best possible solution would be to overlook and accept the negatives while keeping your head high to see the positives. Think not of them as argumentative points, but rather opportunities that pertain directly to you.

You could just as easily say it's not fair to those with jobs, those with families, or any kind of obligation. There's always going to be those who have to spend more time on real life than others, and there's no way to be "fair" to them all. I don't expect to be anywhere near the top 100, but I don't find it "unfair". I simply understand that my life is full of things to do, with Noobstown being just one of those things. Would I like to be one of those 100? Sure, it would be nice. But I don't expect it, I just expect to have fun and be part of a cool community. Anything else is just a bonus. :)

Think of it like government you cant appeal to everyone but u can to the majority weather its for good or worse. the main thing is that its in best intrest over all for most people not everyone and u cant please everyone.

As long as you get on at least once a week you'll be atleast in the top 100. If you get on more during the week you'll be going up and getting a closer rank. I agree with what the other person said though there are other people who have jobs, families, internships, college, etc. other real-life things happening but are still able to play. You just have to balance between everything and realize what is more important.

...also it sort of evens itself out. From my understanding 'most active' is not the same as 'most time on system' so the only way to go higher on the most active list is leveling mcmmo scores. ah-ah-ah don't interrupt, let me finish. People like me who have no outside life and are on *way* too much have huge mcmmo scores already and it is much, much harder for us to level the skills now. So you spend less time here but level up your mcmmo (if you work at it) just as much as I do when I am here all day.

I'm on every weekend for a total of like 24 hours. I'm not on the chart. I'm a student so it's quite difficult for me to be on, on weekdays. However, I do believe that I have a chance of getting on the chart soon.

I agree with Gamergirl people should decide which one is more important. People do not realize they get shut off to the game and forget whats happening in the real world (not mentioning name) people are getting so addicted that they threaten me sometimes with noobscraft. personally i don't really care if I get kicked out of my town's assistant position, or give my noobs away. But the thing I hate the most is they forget how to be friends...

Hello everyone!

I know there is quite a bit of concern about the 100 top activity list.  I should inform you that this does not necessarily mean just in-game time alone.  Players who sit afk or riding in minecarts for 10 hours will find themselves slipping down the list due to a few things:

1) Your activity on the server will increase your ranking.  This means leveling your skills, building, and various other tasks that will give you 'credit' so to speak

2)  Events that are hosted are being timed to allow for optimal access to all players who can participate.  If you find yourself missing out on one, never fear!  More will come as the weeks progress closer toward our release of V6

3)  "I'm not in the top 10!!!1one"  Yes, this will happen, and, IT'S OK!  Being in the top 10 is wonderful, as you will gain tokens, but that is not the only way to gain them!  Keep a watch out for our events, participate, and watch for announcements and upcoming news on the website.

All in all, if you stay active, and continue to play as you normally would, you have a very good chance of making the top 100.  Our Admins are aware that players are using various methods to afk farm time on the server, and we will be keeping a close eye on those who are still participating in the community.  If all else fails, and you do not make the top 100, do not fret.  V6 will be better and even more enjoyable than our current map.  100% guaranteed.   There will be so much stuff to do, build, and enjoy yourself with.  Stick with us, and we promise to give you one of the best Minecraft online experiences that can be offered.
