I joined noobstown in V3 and i was a bit of a noob to start off not knowing about towns or economy, i left the spawn and headed left until i found a grassy hill next to a beach town, i built a cobblestone and log house and made a hidden mineshaft on the beach next to my house where i started a branch mine, i didn't get any diamonds from it but i did get a lot of other stuff, then the town was set alight by griefers and my house was robbed so i decided to move past the town and settled on a peacefull beach a few chunks from the town.

I built a wooden two section cactus farm and attached a wooden house to the side of it, so when i came inside there was a large pile of cacti waiting for me! I stayed there quite a bit and traded with ajhl who still lived in the town that got burnt, the town was griefed again and i restored aj's diner.

After spending time in the mob arena i started spelunking with cartodd98 and another friend who i forgot the name of, i crafted my first ever diamond block!

Cartodd98 bought large amounts of cacti off me and then invited me to join forthwind, i joined after reconstructing the 2 block cobblestone generator next to my house for the town mayor killerpie1, i moved my belongings to a plot in the town where i built a 2 floor cobblestone house with a log frame, i then stored my belongings in the basement of my house.

I helped the town expand and i mined for minerals in the town's strip mine located in a gravel pit near the town, i helped repair griefs and became friends with town members such as ajhl49, killerpi1, cartodd98 and kylelee96.

The town was then flooded and the map was switched to v4 where we half built a giant glass dome over forthwind but then a temporary map was put in  while v5 was built, there i sailed 6000 blocks north and built my house at the top of a mountain in an extreme hills biome, my house was made of stone bricks and my house was connected to the hill that had a smoother slope to it by a wooden truss bridge so i could get down to the mine that was located in a cave and had a abandoned mineshaft in it.

Ajhl49, killerpie1 and cartodd98 then asked to teleport to me and the extreme hills biome where i lived turned into a village named Spirelands.

We made giant bridges between the mountain peaks and valleys, the largest one was 111 blocks tall from the water level of the river to the walkway and spanned 48 blocks which connected killerpie1's mounatin to the bridge that connected mine and ajhl49's mountains.

Then the map was switched to V5 where i joined forthwind yet again and built my house next to killerpie1 and grandreaper's houses, i built forthwind spire and helped out around the town.

Then killerpie1 and grandreaper770 decided to destroy the town, i joined the server soon after the attack had begun to find my house was pitch black, i walked outside to find all the torches were gone and the town was unclaimed. i walked around a bit and then left the server after hearing the town had gone bankrupt.

Then i joined the next day to find i was banned for being connected to the forthwind attack, i went to the forum and was informed by fatnoob that because i was friends with killerpie1 and grandreaper770 it was too risky to have me back in the server and that killerpie1 and grandreaper770 had stole all the town money and unclaimed everything.

I hope i will someday be able to explain my innocense to fatnoob and return to the server that i was part of for soo long and have not yet found a replacement for.

I bought the game on may 12th 2011.
Played a lot of single player until I decided to start playing online.
Googled noobs and minecraft and it came up with this server, it was nice, so I joined in.

At first I built a small house and started experimenting with smelting stone. Later on I built a templar tower with a large red templar cross from red wool and a white snow backgound on the front, which eventually became a large fortress. Some people liked it, others didn't, so I continually got griefed, almost every day. That is how I met most of the mods on the server :) .

I didn't like the concept of towns, because I like building big and towns restrict you to a small plot. I had a house in Flintwood for a while, but didn't get attached to it much, so I left it and came back to my fortress in the wilderness. A few people settled inside the fortress, all were welcome. I even had plans of turning it into a town in the future, although I eventually abandoned that idea.
You can find my fortress if you walk straight from the spawn, then when you reach the sea, turn right and follow the coast. Its not particularly impressive, just a big lump of stone bricks with a couple of large templar banners up front.
After I completed the fortress, my interest to the game slowly died out. It came back when 1.3 came around.
What attracted me the most was the fact that ores now gave exp, and the maximum enchantment level was restricted to 30, making things much simpler for me as I don't particularly enjoy the monotonic  grinding of mobs and would much rather spend my time underground, mining for precious minerals.

In fact, at this stage I was enjoying the game so much, I decided to support the server, and since I had no need for anything from the VIP shop, I just got me the vip status, which was very helpful in my mining operations. I no longer needed someone to stay in my mine thanks to the /back command and this yielded great results.

After discovering the awesomeness that is a Fortune 3 pick combined with a silk touch pick my fortune grew rapidly. When the game gave me fortune and silk touch picks with unbreaking enchantments, I started mining other ores with them, not just diamond and emerald. Mining redstone ore with silk touch and later on placing it and breaking it with a normal pick produced commercial quantities of exp, which in turn fed the production of better, more expensive picks I could sell.

At this point I felt a little tiered of mining, so I talked to Kenny(emperorMyrf) and he allowed me to build in his town. He later on granted me TA powers so that I could build outside the maximum plot size. I began the construction of a large, Gothic style cathedral, inspired by a recent trip to Europe. Some of you have seen it, im quite proud of it actually as it is the coolest looking thing I ever made in minecraft. Its not far from Kenny's house in the Empire town, feel free to check it out.

My story has a sad ending though. The day before yesterday, I logged into the server, planning to go on my usual mining trip. The moment I logged in, my character was dead, and all my precious mining gear was missing. At first I was shocked and hoped this would get fixed soon. Sadly, it didn't.
When I lost my mining tools, I lost the will to play, because for me, the hunt for the diamond is more fun than the actual use of the diamonds. Don't know if it makes any sense to you guys, but I don't really value the ingame pixels as much as I value the thrill of hunting for them.
Feeling upset and down, I decided to let the dust settle and wait until the game gets fixed, as 1.3 is extremely buggy, both with redstone and now this. So I decided to give my valuables away, since I had no use for them. I laid aside a small stack of 44 diamonds for my future return and decided to give everything else away. Went to the main spawn and started to drop my stuff when Fatnoob messaged me. A second later, all my stuff disappeared from my inventory. Fatnoob explained this as a check for x-ray on my part. I found that accusation offensive, since ive been around from December and never even thought of using cheats, thats not my game.
Later on I got banned under the false accusation of mass x-ray use. Further attempts to explain myself were ignored and I am now labeled as a cheater, something that pains me more than anything.
The wheels of justice work in a very peculiar pattern on this server. I'm guessing ill get unbanned eventually, as I did absolutely nothing wrong, although, the will to play on the server is slowly fading away.
My only regret is that I couldn't complete my cathedral project.

first of all I want to apologize for my English (Spanish is my first language)

Well lets see if my story is interesting (I think its a little bit boring but Ill let you decide that). As most players I bought this game because a friend told me about it, I started playing solo for several months, after that I got bored. My gf then drag me to a multiplayer gamer (LOTRO) and thats how I got my first experience in a multiplayer game. AFter that I decided to get back to Minecraft and try some multiplayer, so I look for a serve.

I found one, at first it was good but then the mods started to be jerks, they would hurl thunderbolts at other players, release the ender dragon and it was chaos and kinda awesome (not so much when it happen me), so I decided to live along as a dwarf (hidding underground). Then Guess what? the server got destroy, or at least i never heard of anyone from it.

At last I found the promise land, in planet minecraft I found the IP for noobstown; I ignore the server for quite some time (having the word "noob" made me feel a little bit uneasy) but well i could not find any good server so I gave it a shot.

My life here in Noobstown is awesome; the first time I joined the game i didnt know what to do, i wasnt aware of the towns and all that. I dont know why but my first...shall we call it house was a cave that I found on the mining world, again I was oblivious to the fact that the mining world gets reset every month. I lived a quite life by myself, during that time the only mod I trusted was EmperorMyrf, he was good with me and with all my stupid questions. After I realize that my house/cave was gonna dissapear i decided to move into a town, however i was really poor: a TA from the town in the sky (not sure of the name) offer me a plot but it was expensive so i declined. As you can imagine i was worry for all my stuff (I had a wheat farm, pumking farm, melon farm and sugar farm, not to mention my ores and ingots), I was kinda mad at myself but thats when Alturn (not sure if it was Alturn or Altair) offer me a place in his house, I took it.

I didnt last long in Alturn/Altair house, I sell most of my stuff and look for a town and my own house. I searched for a week and finally Danniel1998, major of Blackthorn, offer me a plot in his town, I accepted and that place is where i live and work for most of my time.

I follow a rule (specially in Multiplayer games) "if you are not sure then ask" and thats how i met most of the mods, however one time I ask AQW about a problem in the minig world (I was able to see through blocks, I didnt know that after Minecraft got update my texture pack could not support new blocks like stone bricks and those things) so he banned me :( , I talked to him and explained him my situation and he unban me (now im using the default texture pack to avoid any problems).

Im not sure whats wrong with me but after buying my house in blackthorn I left it there (it still my house but it is more like my storage facility and where i keep all of my farms) and start exploring the mining world and the wilderness. I made outpost (if you find one dont grief it please) in some locations, but for most of the time im in a mine or diving for clay. In my travels I saw some awesome buildings, specially in towns, and thats how I decide to visit all the towns ( I have visit three so far and they are amazing); I will visit a town Dragon (Forgive me Twisted but I cant remember the rest of the name).

uhmmm, thats as far as my story goes.

Thanks!

I started back in March 2011 in V1 as the server architect, I built the first ever NoobsTown building which was the town Inn/Pub. I also helped to moderate in the early stages of the server. Now I hardly ever come online due to being too busy with other things.

I joined a few days ago, and after I joined, I literally "fell in love" with this server. It's shop system is one of my favorite features.

I don't think my story is very interesting but MEH

I found Noobstown searching through Planet Minecraft after I was exploited on another server by my "friend", who asked me to help him build & flatten/claim land for his town. I spent thousands, and went through numerous diamond tools & resources, only to find out had no intention of making me a co-owner because he would have preferred his other friend to become a co-owner, Spooky, who hadn't yet joined the server after the 1.3 update. I was upset and dissappointed, but I thought it best to move on from the server and start a new life on another :)

Noobscraft seemed to be a popular server, so I checked it out and followed the instructions to become a member. When I logged back in after being notified of my membership, ohlookawall immediately greeted me and offered to give me a tour of the town she resided in- Oakvale. When I saw the town spawn, I was amazed by the complexity and design of the buildings surrounding me. I wanted to join Oakvale straight away! I waited for a mayor/TA to come online so I could be invited to town :D

I introduced myself on here, made great friends on the server, built my house in the wilderness alongside ohlookawall's amazing house, built a restaurant for Oakvale, built a mining shop in town, explored, survived the numerous bugs following the update & socialised :-)

That's my boring story :L Hopefully it grows as I spend longer on the server. I'm really enjoying my time here!

My story isn't really worth mentioning, but since James insisted, here you go. =P

I used to go online on my clanserver (Dutch multigaming clan, also plays Minecraft), but since they dropped MCMMO because it gave them too many issues I didn't enjoy that server anymore, so for Minecraft I decided to look for another server. So thanks to the MCMMO wiki, I found this server in the list that used that mod, and I joined Noobstown.

Right the first day after joining, and reading up on how this server works I knew it would be best to join a town, so I made a topic that I was looking for one, and got a reply from Halikar, advertising the town where he was a TA, Oakvale =) So the next day I spoke to fish_james, and he invited me, gave me a nice plot, and I started buildin myself a nice little house.

That's now only a month ago. In that month (even while going almost 2 weeks on vacation), I've already managed to gather a small capital of 130,000 Noobz, an MCMMO power level of almost 1200 and I'm still going like a train =) I'm having a great time here and hope there will be many more months like past one ;)

Well... I joined about 4 months ago or so, and already have made a bit of a name for myself on the server. :P

I joined the server after hearing about it from Planet Minecraft. I had never done Multiplayer before on Minecraft since at the time, I was still fairly new to the game. I decided it was time to find other people to play the game with, and signed onto Noobstown for the first time.

After joining the server fully, I was greeted by a now former member of the server who was running a small town called Nubville. I decided I would join, and thus, I joined my first town. I remained in that town for about a month or so before I decided I needed a town that had more members and was more... amazing. Nubville, sadly, only had residential plots, and no other sections of the town, and very, very few active members. So, I reached out to other Mayors and asked for a town that was larger and had some extra benefits. Birdman2121, Mayor of Morningwood, reached out to me and showed me around the town. Eventually, I decided to join the town. I stayed in Morningwood for a good 2 months before I again decided that I needed something more from my town. Considering the lack of activity of the town's officers and the lack of helpful benefits, I decided to leave Morningwood and join one of the top 3 towns on the server, Flintwood.

As soon as I entered Flintwood, I was greeted with open arms by Batuus, the Head Architect of the town. He showed me around the town, showing each and every section of the town in detail. After the tour, Batuus was kind enough to even offer me his old house, which he had already moved out of, and was looking for someone to live in it. Happily, I took the house and thus, became a member of Flintwood. This is now my current town, and I hope to stay in it as long as possible.

After a few weeks, I decided that I really loved playing Mob Arena, and ended up writing a guide for the server on Mob Arena. In only a few short months,  I'm proud to say that this is still my one and only Multiplayer server on Minecraft.

This is perhaps the greatest thread in the whole forum. It gives a good perspective to the towns and its' communities.

My story isn't all that interesting just yet, joined late in June this year, my first serious attempt on a Minecraft server, and boy am I happy it turned out to be Noobscraft.

Will come back to this thread when I have some interesting things too tell beside my wildlife in my cave with my sheep, cows and chickens.

Thumbs up for this one!

Well, I joined April 19th this year, and have to say, this is the best server I have ever played on. Honestly, my first couple days were absolute nightmares, my first night on this server, I built a dirt pillar to stay away from the baddies below. That night, I learned spiders could climb, good god. A couple tree punching and rotten flesh nomming days later, I had a nice little house set up, and was surviving off of meat from some animals I found. Then my buddy Blooman_135 joined me in my adventure. A couple days of living in that house, I joined DiamondCreek, and so did Bloo. After about 2 weeks, I got fed-up with the 50 Noobz a day tax and the 1,000 Noobz plot price. So, I moved, to the greatest town in all of Noobstown, Empire. EmperorMyrf hooked me up good, really. Starting me off with a free plot, and even helped me move my stuff.  So, I did my last goodbyes to my home in DiamondCreek and started building my new one. A couple months of money making, home renovating, sugarcane farming, town supplying madness, I had a good pile of about 30,000 Noobz stored up, for what, I didn't quite know. Then I got my shop, which Myrf helped me with, and explained ChestShop to me. The shop being quite away from the town spawn, I decided to search for a new location. A month later, Myrf cleared an old shop plot from an inactive player, and allowed me to have it. Have to say, I have gained a good amount of money from that, because people like potions ._. and wool. For the past month or so GrizzShark and me have been working on our own little outpost for Empire, we decided to just claim it, and connected a town claimed road to it, to avoid paying 100k, (which I find quite outrageous). So that's about it, I'm  currently renovating my new home and working on my business tower. And who knows, maybe I'll start my own town someday, but I doubt it, I love Empire. I'd like to give a special thanks to EmperorMyrf, who has helped me since the beginning of my Nooby Adventure, And helped me even more later on, and is still currently helping me. THANKS MYRF! :3

I came onto the server after a friend reccomended it to me... I haven't been on for a while, I might join again if I can find all of my old friends ;_; (I joined near the end of V1) I'm hoping to do another project, that would be fun.

I joined after being invited by the first mayor of Dragonfire, and Dragonsoulsong to come play with them. I didn't really talk much then and soon enough the mayor left and Dragon took over. I actually got together with Dragon (yes i know him irl) because of minecraft, and because of a player named MasterrBC. I spent my time mining for lapis for a while, and then twist joined! I became a mod not too long after, and built a massive house made of lapis and lapis ore. That got old so I took it down. Our mayor slowly faded out and Twist became the new mayor. I still suck at doing town things but I help when i can. I befriended Myrf and Water and Foob even before I became a mod, so it was even more fun to mess around with them after that. Now I'm an emerald hunter since i have way too much lapis anymore...

Idk thats about it....

I've been playing Minecraft for about 2 weeks now.  I joined Noobstown a little over a week ago, and this is my first time to play outside of single player.  At that time I had no idea that individual towns even existed.  After reading several forums and server reviews, I decided to settle down in Noobstown.  I feel that I made a great choice.  The support is great, and everyone is extremely friendly and honest.

I've played MMO's for roughly 10-12 years now  8) and have beta'd 100's of them (everything from AO to WoW).  At first I was hesitant to play Minecraft because of the throwback graphics and interface.  My nephew plays, and always talks about it so I decided to give it a shot.  Instantly the game felt vaguely familiar and reminiscent of 90's FPS which I love.  Needless to say, I'm addicted.

Yes, I've been settled in Winterhold for a short while now, and find the town pretty nice.  The mayor and TA's are awesome (when anyone in the town is actually online).  I would like to find myself in a TA role as well as a builder role somewhere.  Right now, I've gotten my house (nice contemporary setup) completed and a massive underground multi-level farm, which keeps me busy when I'm not adventuring.  I've started running the 90210 seed on my own server this week, and love it so far.

I don't have too much time right now, but I'll give this a shot.

I joined Noobscraft about a month ago and have loved it since. On the first day at the spawn, Hopitty greeted me and gave me some food. He then invited me into PiratesCove. When I got there, I just didn't feel at home. I left P.C. and looked for some other towns. After waiting a day, Miner came on and invited me into Flintwood.  I didn't like how crowded and far away my plot was. I left Flintwood and ended up in DragonFire, when TwistedLover invited me.

I've always enjoyed Noobscraft due to it's friendly environment, people, and moderators. I have not once seen a mis-ban. I have talked to many people, and am currently working on a project for DragonFire.

DragonFire is truly amazing to me. While it can be sometimes lonesome with just 8 people on at a time, there's always something to do. The availability of everything is superior to that of any town I've been to. I did visit Fish_James' town, which I really liked. If I wasn't in DragonFire, that would be the town I would want to live in.

I'm currently trying to build trust with everyone, because when things need to get done, it's trust that you rely on.

Well, that's my story so far. =)

After reading this thread while the server was down, I decided, "I surrrpose it's time I post about me own tale!"

Pre-Noobstown
About three weeks ago, the boys at the local community kids club that I lead (irl) asked me if I played mc and eventually invited me to a factions PvP mcMMO server. It was my first multiplayer experience. I enjoyed being able to play mc with my young friends, but there was too much cussing and I didn't want them to get exposed any further than they already are at school. I told them I'm staying off that server for a while, but really liked mcMMO. And so, my search for an MMO server began.

Newb Days at Noobstown
I found Noobscraft.com via PMC I think, after visiting a few others that either were stagnant or required paid membership (I googled "mcMMO server"). The rules were what won me over for Noobstown--No Cussing! And PvP is here too as an Event, so my young friends just might like it. (I saw them online a couple times; they haven't completely bought in yet). At any rate, "This must be the place! Nyarr!"

I heavily tend to play solo, so once in Mining World I found an underground lake that I turned into a base. I ended up hungry for a couple real-life days as I waited for the few crops to grow. Meanwhile, I dug down for the mines, careful not to fall and use up precious hearts. I found out I was close to an abandoned mine with a Cave Spider spawner. A nearby chest was empty, telling me that somebody had been around already.

Aaand, time skip! I developed my secluded Mining World base to have five 9x9 wheat farms, some sugarcane farms, a jumping platform (for Acro), a fishing spot, and a maxed-out enchantment room. All my chests were hidden so I didn't worry much about being griefed.

Ohh! And Tidal suddenly tp'd in my base one time as I was about to harvest wheat. ("Whoa!" moment). Idk why. I didn't know who she was then until I looked it up on the forum. Another player also tpa'd without prior notice as I was about to enter my base from outside. I accepted to say hi, but he just left. Weird...

A Dilemma
Eventually, the sign by the Mining World portal finally sunk in---"Resets October 1st." It was then that I thought, "Gasp! What's gonna happen to all my treasurrrre?! Maybe I should get a town."

And I did.

I journeyed around the forum about current towns. I was not looking for a well-populated town, but a medium town with room for growth. And yet, my sole purpose was to have a place to store all me loot! After learning about the /town spawn command I did some town hopping to see which one I liked. Most of them were beautiful and creative; some were still being developed. I made a decision after walking by an empty plot in the moonlight and thought, "Lovely place to settle." I town-spawned often, waiting for someone to respond to my local-chat "Hi," hoping a TA was around. Finally, a reply from Zephar.

At Tortuga
Not much to say at this point, since I became a resident only yesterday. I claimed the plot I wanted. The Town Rules said first plot was free, but I went ahead and donated---such a lovely town deserves it! And so I moved in, made some chests, moved all me loot from me MW secret hideout... I picked up on the little detail that Zeph likes Bleach, so I was gonna make my plot look like Destructive Spell 96: Itto Kaso as a thank-you. But after getting everything but the lava ready (dun dun dunnn... I won't spoil it), I had to change designs. (See below)

Burnfireblaze came on to give me a town tour today. And this is where things are right now. To be continued.

Very interesting story ummfred~! I haven't been on lately with some issues irl and way too busy, but I would love to meet you in game, I am a TA in Oakvale. The TA's are a little inactive right now for real life issues, and two of them just quit as TA so it is a little inactive right now.

But if I ever start playing MC more again, I would love to talk, as I love a nice chat with new fellow Noobs :)

Be well,
