what makes you sad/mad on the server? (Read 5290 times)

So, yeah, the title kinda says it all: This is the topic where you can just let your rage come out in a steady flow. And no, spammers and caps are NOT taken into consideration. Those are part of the everyday life on the server (sadly), and cannot be fixed properly. All the results from this will be forwarded to the mods and admins, so that they can take the results into consideration. Right, let's not mess this up, shall we? When new guests come online and start complaining that they aren't members, there should be some sort of way that makes guests only speak in local so everyone can't hear them complain xD If they want help there should be Moderators online to help them at all times when they need assistance.

I agree with Daniel, they can get annoying, BUT they wouldn't be able to ask for help if they really did need it, I seem to be one of the only few to help guests :S I'm always helping them if they ask how to register or once there was a problem with the warp signs and some of the guests seemed like the were getting stressed because when they asked for help no-one gave them it, that was when staff were on the server.... They were busy doing tickets or just AFK. I seem to notice a lot of staff being AFK, yeah, it's great for them to be online, but why come on then go AFK? It's awkward trying to explain to people who really need help that whoever is online that is able to help them with more things than normal members like myself can't, is AFK.

There's probably a few other things that I can write, but I can't think of them at this moment in time.

There are many other ways of getting there troubles across rather than raging in global chat, such as making a ticket in-game or creating a post about it here, on the forums. If they really don't understand how to register and all that stuff, then that's a problem with the guest spawning area that should be improved with clearer instructions, but as far as I know I'm sure they've made it pretty clear on how to become a Member of the server.

I know, but as you know, there's a lot of people who have chosen this server to be the first server that they've ever played on... Maybe some people are really new with the forum side of things. When Geo introduced this server to me I didn't know anything about forums or servers. I only understood things like Youtube or social networking sites like Bebo (embarrassing now, but back then it was amazing xD) or Facebook. When I joined the server I didn't ever look at the forums, nor did I introduce myself in any way, I just log-in then played, It was later on when I noticed Geo always kept updated with the forums so I started and I've never stopped since. Sorry for the life story xD, but It's true maybe people haven't played on game servers very much? I dunno.

i get mad at: getting killed in PVP, not being able to connect, lagg, greefers, spamers, guests asking the same questions, slow typers, ender realm being shut, people abusing others and lots more

i thought i had said it very clearly in the start... spam is NOT a part of this topic. it is everyday life on the server and it can't be stopped. this also counts for swears

@Jay: I see where you're coming from but I'm sure most people now know how to use forums and get involved with them, this forum is not an exception. This forum is user friendly and easy to navigate your way around it so new players and put off with any complicated actions. Basically what I'm saying is it's not hard to put forward your issues on the forums.

@Hazd: 1. You getting killed at PVP is something you need to sort out, not the server, if you don't like getting killed - don't go in the arena.. 2. You not being able to connect is hardly something to get mad/sad about as most of the time its the server getting better for the players experience to be greater. 3. Lag is just something you'll have to overcome. 4. Griefers are always caught in the end and punished, so no need to worry about them. 5. Getting mad at slow typers is a little weird as it doesn't matter how slow or fast someone types.. nothing can be done about that. 6. The Ender Realm will be open when Fatnoob is ready for it to be opened to the public. 7. All rule breakers are caught and punished.
Maybe this cleared some things and changed your mind on some or your original thoughts.

As above, for me it is slightly annoying that guests complain about membership. It's a little thing for me though.
Biggest thing that makes me rage/cry on the server are all those cube 'houses' that have no owner, or dirt towers. Especially when they're made of golden blocks, ores, and then added diamond blocks and topped with leaves and pumpkins. I hate those tall cubes maknig my eyes bleed.

Other than that griefing and ocassional swearing.

Yes, the forums is user friendly, but I didn't understand anything back then, therefor I refused to use the forums until a later date, I can't be the only one who sees things that way sometimes. Some guests can be quite ~~unpatient~~ impatient, but since we are the Veterans of the server sometimes they see us as a higher rank and fire questions and requests in our direction, we should still help them, even if it is annoying it only takes two sentences or so to send them on their way to being a member. Me, you and Tyber have all applied for staff If I'm right, both of you guys have said that guests annoy you. You'll have to get used to helping them because I feel you two have a good chance at becoming staff in the future so saying that guests are annoying doesn't make you look so good :S

First out I'd like to say that it's not the guests that annoy me, its when they get agitated and start raging for no reason what so ever. They need to learn to be patient and not spam in global chat as most of the time it is their own fault for failing at the application and not following it correctly. There should be something at the guest spawn explaining what they should do if they fill in the application correctly such as: Stay calm and wait 30 minutes. Also if they write their IGN incorrectly then (as most of them already do...) they should make a post about it.

Whn I have a lot of stuff (today i had 2 stacks of iron, 30 gold, and 4 diamond) and fall in lava. But luckily i keep some gold, iron, and other stuff in my chests. but i only have 1 diamond left

It makes me mad when you blow up with a lot of diamonds, tools, enchanted weapons, and you go back to where you died only to find a stack of 24 sticks

Thanks for the input guys, regarding all of your questions we are pretty much working on resolving all of them. I know swearing, spamming etc.. was not part of this topic but we are working on a plugin to kick/ban spammers, swearing will be fully censored, colour abuses wont be able to use colours and capitals will be turned into non capitals. I understand that guests asking for help 24/7 can be a pain in the ass to see, but yet again, we are working on ways to make the registration less painful and quicker. I have pitched a couple of ideas for Lawrence to begin developing a plugin that phases out guests so they can only speak to staff members or in the help channel, they will be guided through the tutorial with a plugin. The site/forum will become a more key part to the server when we offer profiles that will allow you to check your stats, balance and town related stuff, and possibly some cool statistics about your Minecraft account on Noobstown. The ender realm will return shortly, with a hub that will allow you to pay to spawn a dragon whenever you feel like it, and also removing those awful portals once the dragon is defeated.

Anyway, lots of cool updates coming for your enjoyment, think dungeons, arenas something to with mobs, rewards and more. Stay tuned!

killing and being killed...
if you dodnt want to be killed you shouldnt pvp

What makes me mad on the server? Oh I could rant all day about some of the members. But lately the main thing that has ****ed me off on the server has been the lack of respect I have seen toward some of the female players (mostly me, sadly). I do NOT play on this server to be someone's wife, or to be talked to like I'm really little. Sure I do act like a kid and goof around, who doesn't? But I get so tired of people coming up to me, and because of my skin start sneak pushing me, like I don't know they are there just because I can't see their name.

I understand that there are younger kids on the server, but that is no excuse for disrespect, through a game or not. You can say I need to get used to it, and it'll probably be the ones who lack respect for older players and/or female gamers.

Something else that annoys me is the amount of people making towns and how easy it is to make them.. I think a perfectly logical solution is to up the price for a town because I get really angry when I see towns with one to ten residents, they're just a waste of space.

Or we could you know... Put town prices at an incredibly high amount and then only when they have like for example 10 people for the town then they can ask a moderator or admin to give them the required money to make it?

But then that ruins the idea of getting money, it would also ruin the economy of the server. Raise the town prices so that its HARDER to get towns because someone could easily just pay some people to pretend to be their ten residents then the ten people could run off and join a different town.

I agree, Like 2 weeks ago, I seen about 8 towns made within 2 days. From people who had like 5-10k the day before. . Netherrack kinda ruined the money for a bit. . xD
