NoobsCraft Chat Tutorial
MineCraft has multiplayer, and it allows us to connect together to a server like noobstown, and if you speak via the chat, others can read it. But NoobsCraft is a little bit different as it has multiple worlds; it’s included a plugin to control chat.
First things first, to chat in-game you press the “T” button on the keyboard, a line in the bottom appears. You can type anything in English in there (with in the /rules of the server). This is also the place where you type in commands.
Example: “t” hello everybody!
(the “t” opens the chat input, and the hello everybody! appears in-game)
Example: “t” /spawn
(the “t” opens up the chat input again, and since every command starts with a forward slash, you don’t talk in-game but instead you submit the /spawn command - teleporting you to spawn)
Ok, secondly it’s important to understand that you can chat in a few different ways. You can chat globally, locally, and per world. Each chat channel has a prefix and a unique color, so you can tell which one you’re in. You can switch between these channels (usually) at any time.
If you press “t” and type the command: /ch list
you will get a list of these chat channels.
[N] Nether in red.. if you are in the world “the nether” and type there, then it will have this prefix and color. Meaning that only those in that world can read what you say.
[M] Mine in blue.. if you are in the “mining” world, and type there, then only others in the mining world can see you.
etc.
Okay, that’s per world. But there is a global chat, it’s prefixed with [G] and it’s in green. If you type in global chat, everybody in any world can see what you say. This is basically the default chat.
And, there’s local chat. It shows in [L] yellow. When you’re in local chat in any world, then only those nearby you can read what you say. Great for parties and town chats.
Let me explain how to change between chat channels.
(I will assume you now understand you have to press “t”, etc)
To switch to the global chat: /ch g
To switch to the local chat: /ch l
To switch back to the world you’re in: /ch En (or M or N)
Bonus!
If you’re part of a /party, you type: “/p” to turn on and off the party chat. Only those who are a member in the party will be able to see what you type (whatever world you’re in).
Inside info!
There’s actually a few more channels, but we can’t see them. If you /warp to certain places or are a staff member, .. but this basically doesn’t apply to members.
